R+Co TELEVISION Perfect Hair Shampoo, 1.7 oz – Retail Value $15

I have enjoyed all of the products from R+Co that I have tried, so I had high expectations for this shampoo and conditioner set. First off, it smells amazing! The scent is described as a blend of cardamom, pineapple, tangerine, lavender, and bamboo, and this did a great job of cleansing my hair. This shampoo would do the job perfectly on my head after a good workout, but it is a touch strong for me to use every shower.

R+Co TELEVISION Perfect Hair Conditioner, 1.7 oz – Retail Value $16

This has the same great scent as the shampoo, and it added back all of the moisture my hair needed after shampooing without weighing my hair down. In fact, it was pretty lightweight, and I was impressed at the job it did nourishing my hair.

Oribe Mystify Restyling Spray, 0.67 oz – Estimated Value $5 (buy the full-size version for $44)

Restyling my curls can be a hot mess- I usually have to throw it up in a bun or get it wet and start all over. I was impressed with the difference this spray made- I am seriously considering purchasing the full-size even though it is so pricey. Spraying this on my hair after working out really added some bounce back into the curls that had started to fall out, and I didn’t feel the need to throw my hair up in a bun to continue with my day.

amika The Wizard Detangling Primer, 1 oz – Retail Value $10

I always use some type of leave-in detangling product in my hair, but to be honest there haven't really been any products that majorly stand out in a crowd. That stayed true here- I liked how lightweight it was and I did think it helped to keep my curls from tangling, but I don't think this performed any better (or worse) than the other ten leave-in samples I have strewn across my apartment. This also is supposed to cut down on blow-drying time, but my aversion to heat styling my hair means I wasn't able to test out that claim.

Living proof.® Perfect hair Day™ (PhD) Triple Detox Shampoo, 1 oz – Estimated Value $5.18 (buy the full-size version for $28)

This shampoo is made with activated charcoal to clarify and absorb oil along with witch hazel to soothe your scalp. This is also sulfate free, so bonus points for that too.

Bumble and bumble. Prêt-à-Powder, 0.5 oz – Retail Value $13

I was honestly surprised by how much I LOVE this powder! It is part dry shampoo, part style extender, and part volumizer. Using this on my roots on second-day curls adds life back into my hair without drying it out, and I love that I am able to use just a small bit of the powder to get the results I want. It is a little messy, but as long as you're not wearing a black top when you apply this you should be fine!

BAGGU® Standard Tote Bag in Cotton Candy – Retail Value $12

I am all aboard the baggu train! This is environmentally friendly, folds up small, and can hold a ton- what more could you need? I don’t know if I would use this as a gym bag, so at first, I was a little confused as to the place this had in the kit. This would work great for a wet bag to hold a wet swimsuit separate from the rest of your belongings, though, and the fact that it folds up small when not in use means it can be tossed into a bag without taking up space.

invisibobble® SLIM - Vanity Fairy, Full-Size! - Retail Value $8

I love my invisibobbles with a passion, and I am always happy to receive more. They can hold my hair up with snags or tangles, and when they stretch out a bath with boiling water makes them stretch back to their original size in a hot second.

Number 4™ Mini Darling Brush – Retail Value $10

This brush definitely is a mini little fellow. I used this brush to comb through a hair treatment mask on damp hair, and I thought this served that purpose well. Using this on dry hair, on the other hand, would never work- my hair has broken brushes before, and I have no doubt this would join them.

Birchbox Shower Cap

Shower caps are a lifesaver when you don’t want to get your hair wet but want to take a body shower- this one fit close to my head without being too tight, and it kept my hair dry.

The Verdict: I thought this was a good curation of products to help you manage your hair after a workout- whether you have time to shower or if you need to spritz and go, there is something in here for every situation. Value-wise, I calculated a value of $94.18 for everything but the shower cap, which was listed as a bonus, anyways. Birchbox promised a value of $122, and I don't think that shower cap is worth $30- but I do still think this kit overall has a good value.
