I ordered this box for the first time in April.
When I checked my payment statements, I was billed for 3 boxes.
Received 2 May boxes; an order error I believe; but it was fine, it made for good Mother’s Day gifts.
I received my first payment statement for April but I did not receive an April box.
Wondering if it was received late or to be applied to an upcoming delivery?

That “charcoal” scrub doesn’t even contain charcoal, they put carbon black in it to give it the black color.

I agree with lying about the retail value. I just looked up the necklace on the brand website and it sells for $48…. I am sticking out a full 6 months with them but so far since February I have only liked one box.

Wow lots of complaints about a book and a scrub. I recieved the same things before also. Why not just gift the book? I work in the medical field and love any chance I get for more body scrubs after what the harsh sanitizers do to my hands. Nobody complained when they had the Rose Quartz Skin Chemists lipgloss, but that was also in a previous box. If you don’t want it, then skip the month.

They let you skip months? Tempting. I wasn’t aware of this…do you just email them?

I think the complaints have to do with multiple things. I actually like the Manna Kadar scrub as well…but feel like their selections are redundant — ie they seem to send out Manna Kadar very frequently, along with Melinda Maria and several other brands, as well. Also…they’re showing what looks to be a mini version of the scrub and it’s listed as $38 value? The full size is only $24. I know I get frustrated with the ridiculous valuations and the repetitive nature. So while the scrub is fine and sure, you can gift the book if you don’t want it, I understand peoples’ frustration with this being a $40 pricepoint box.

You just go on the website and login to your account and can skip or in skip.

I love the necklace. In my culture the safety pin is supposed to ward off evil eye and I’ve worn one on a necklace forever. The safety pin as political statement bugged me for a moment but I can attest that not a single person has ever felt safe around me *insert devil face* but the manna kaddar two boxes in a row is a no-no. And I did get the book already in popsugar and didn’t enjoy it then either.

Same here with that book. Glad I only subbed 3 months, looks like this sub sends ‘leftovers’.

The necklace would be cute if it wasn’t a political statement. I have no need to wear political statements as my opinions are my own.
And I agree Manna Kadar is over played.

I agree too on both accounts! And the necklace has a couple connotations which one indeed is a political statement, I won’t wear it due to that as well.

I’m so lost on this political statement thing. 2 yrs ago there was a brief period where ppl wore safety pins to signal support of marginalized groups. I’m part of several marginalized groups and 2 yrs later I totally forgot about that and wouldn’t have thought of it. When it was a thing it was regular safety pins not blinged out jewelry lol. And yet ppl wouldn’t wear it in case someone might remember this random short-lived thing from 2 yrs ago and think you support marginalized groups?

Melissa

What an odd idea, in my opinion, for a necklace. Safety pins are commonly used with cloth diapers. It just doesn’t seem to me like an object you would think of to make jewelry about. Like a staple or a paper clip or something.

Also, yes the Anna Faris book was in PopSugar a long time ago. I was following it on the swap site even though I was only mildly interested in it. People were so desperate to unload it that multiple people requested swaps from me with comments saying, “I see you are following the Anna Faris book.” They were looking more to swap it *away* than they were looking for something they wanted in return.

Similar story with the Mannar Kadar scrub. It was just in some other box, and there is a multitude of them on the swap site. In my opinion, Singles Swag needs to step up their game and send things that other boxes haven’t or at least find out what types of items people aren’t liking.

Safety pins haven’t been a relevant political statement for about two years now, if they ever were at all outside of social media. Relax.

Nat

How is the necklace a political statement?

Jenn

This is what safety pins stand for: The symbol is small but the message is huge: We are with you. Stand up for all hate, and come together as citizens for a bigger, brighter future that hopefully, one day, won’t need secret messages of hope.

It seems others try make it a political when it is a LOVE message.

Charlotte

She is referring to an idea that went viral on social media following the last presidential election, that people could wear safety pins as a discreet way of showing they were allies to certain marginalized peoples. There was enormous backlash from all political directions, and the idea fizzled out. It was not something that ever escaped the confines of Facebook and Twitter, and I see no reason to believe that a jewelry item produced two years later is a deliberate reference.

Julie

Love this box but they really need someone keeping an eye on whats out there. That book came in a sub box last year and the scrub was literally in the last FFF box. It feels like just a box of duplicates. I’ll keep getting the box because I love it but really disappointed with this month. Oh well you win and lose some.

“Oh yay…Manna Kadar!”—said no one, ever. I am not feeling this one at all. A book and scrub already received recently in other boxes, and another Melinda Maria necklace that’s completely not my taste. I purchased a 6 month sub back in November when there was the big sale, and believe this is my 6th and final box. I definitely won’t be renewing.

Nat

Yeah, this box is not what I thought it was going to be when I signed up. The RV is so overinflated. I love the look of the necklace, but I am sure if I were to get this, it will look like cheap junk not worth even $5. I would love that book. The cookie is just gross to me. Also signed up for 6 month way back. Feb was my last box. Not signing back up for this.

Anne

I’m sure the swap site is still flooded with that book from when it came in one of the final popsugar monthly boxes.
I had a singles swag sub for a while and liked it, but the massive discrepancy in what they claimed retail values are, vs what retailers actually sell things for, got too much to bear! It’s really egregious, even compared to other boxes, they just flat out lie (like with the manna kadar scrub)

jane

Also, can someone explain the price discrepancy on the Manna Kadar scrub? A larger container is sold on the site and came in the FFF box with a rv of $24. This container is visibly smaller and has double the rv?? Am I missing something?

Reply ButtonReply

AH

Yep I was wondering that myself! I thought maybe given the smaller size/higher price it was a different one (ie maybe a face scrub) but I went to their website and there isn’t a face scrub…and the most expensive scrub they have is the shown one, with FULL SIZE at $24…so how are they getting $38 for a mini? In fact…the MK website has a “discovery” set that includes 8 items in mini sizes…with one of the items being a mini version of the scrub in this box…and the ENTIRE SET sells for only $21!! So that RV is WAYYYYYY off…
