Eye really like this little pouch.
Now, on to the items!
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, 0.5 fl oz - Estimated Value $37.64 (Buy a full size 1.7 oz here for $128.00)
I have heard good things about this brand but I have always ended up picking different brands over it, for no real reason. I am glad a generous sample came in this month's bag. The formula is supple and moisturizing, absorbing instantly into my skin. This is a day cream, so wearing it under my makeup was a must before I could decide how I felt about it for sure. It pretty much left my skin perfectly primed for foundation, and all of my makeup stayed on top of this without becoming slippy or weird all day. That is winning in my book! My skin felt really hydrated and happy all day too. My only complaint is that this formula doesn't have SPF and I am kind of a stickler for that.
Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus+ Neck & Chest, 5 ml - Estimated Value $15.00 (Buy a full size 30 ml here for $89.99)
You guys know I love Perricone MD! No bells and whistles with this brand, just super effective formulas, and high-quality ingredients. I like to refer to this brand as a "skincare nerd" brand. This cream is meant to be used on your neck to help erase some of those creases that form on your neck. Mine aren't bad yet, but, give 'em time! This formula contains Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), which is a fatty acid found in the body that helps your skin stay tight and firm. It is also really easily absorbable, which bodes well for this formula. This is one of those that will take some time to work, so hopefully, this sample holds out long enough to see a difference.
The lines in question!
Grande Cosmetics GrandeMASCARA Lash Boosting Formula, 2.5 g - Estimated Value $10.42 (Buy a full size 6 g here for $25.00)
I absolutely love Grande Lips, though probably more for the gloss and formula feel, over the plumping. I was excited to try this mascara out and intrigued by the clear (!) sample tube. I can't say that I have ever seen what goes on inside a tube of mascara. This is likely for the best because I have been guilty of using a mascara way past the idea throw out date and maybe no one needs to see that.. ANYWAYS, this formula was ok. It did add a ton of length to my lashes, but not so much volume. It wasn't the smoothest. It stayed on all day just fine but was not a WOW for me.
RealHER Moisturizing Lipstick in 'Mauve', 3.5 g - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $18.00
YAAAAS. This is a Megan color! I love this soft pink and the moisturizing satin finish is just great! I love layering it with a nice gloss for a really sweet neutral lip. I am also thrilled this lipstick is full size! Just with this one item, you have over the bags value price. That feels good. I also love the girl-power vibes from the chic black and white packaging.
Pretty much a perfect 'Megan' shade.
Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water, 1.35 fl oz - Estimated Value $6.12 (Buy a full size 10.15 oz here for $46.00)
This was the swap item. According to our booklet, it should have been Winky Lux Disco Gloss in 'Far Out Blue'.
This might be an unpopular option, but I just can't get excited about makeup removers. I double cleanse in the shower or oil cleanse alone, so I just don't even need them. This one is fine and does remove makeup easily. I just have no real need for it. The formula boasts 6 essential herbs and is alcohol-free.
Givenchy L’Interdit Eau de Parfum, 1 ml - Estimated Value $1.38 (Buy a full size 80 ml here for $110.00)
On paper, I should love this perfume. I should ADORE it. But I don't. Notes of orange blossom, jasmine, vetiver, and patchouli? Doesn't that sound like something I would love!? For me, it just lacks depth, and honestly, it just doesn't smell very distinct in a sea of other better choices. It feels a little too old school and stuffy.
Verdict: This month's Macy’s Beauty Box was full of interesting things! I, of course, loved the lipstick and ANYTHING by Perricone MD makes me a very happy girl. I am glad I got to try some Elemis cream and will be on the lookout for this brand in future boxes. The mascara wasn't a break out product for me, but I had been curious about it so I am glad I can put that one to bed. I was let down by the product swap because I probably would have liked a lip gloss tons more than the makeup remover, and the perfume was a big clear no for me. Even though I had some clear misses this month, I can't complain about a thing because even if I had only liked that lipstick, the value was already taken care of! Technically, this box has a value of $88.56, though with only one full-size product it didn't feel quite that hefty. I still think this month was a pretty great value for $15.
