LiveGlam MorpheMe Brush Club April 2019 Review

This month I received four brushes from the Rose Gold Series. Let’s see what I got:

The theme this month is "Do Your Thing This Spring."

The info card comes with a photo and short description of how you can use each brush. Many brushes can be used for many different things, so you can make them work best for you.

R32 Mini Round Contour (Synthetic) - Retail Value $6

I started this look by using this small, densely packed, dome brush to blend in concealer around my eyes and onto my eyelids. I don't love using brushes for concealer because they tend to exaggerate any dry, flaky spots around my eyes but I wanted to try this one. I prefer to use it to blend shadow primer or large swatches of color to my lids and leave the face blending to my sponges.

R6 Flat Buffer (Synthetic) - Retail Value $16

Though I have several flat buffers already, I use them almost every day so it's nice to have backups. The bristles are soft and dense which makes them perfect for achieving an airbrushed finish with liquid or powder foundation. I also like to use it with pressed compacts or to blend out cream blush and bronzer. Even on days when I use my hands or sponge to apply my foundation, I take a brush like this and blend the color into my hairline and down my neck so I'm not left with any harsh lines.

R44 Angle Liner and Spoolie (Natural and Synthetic) - Retail Value $5

This would have been a good choice for me to swap out since I have several of this dual-end style brush already. But, I've learned to stow them in various places (desk, car, purse) so I can tame my brows if needed throughout the day. I like that the spoolie bristles are soft and wide and that the angled liner side comes to a sharp edge, especially if you use it wet. Here, I've used the spoolie to brush up my brow hairs and the angled side to apply some brow powder. You can see it used for eyeliner below.

R34 Deluxe Blender (Synthetic) - Retail Value $9

This narrow, tapered brush is designed to fit right into the crease for precise application and blending. It's not fluffy enough to be a blending brush for the whole lid but is perfect for blending out a cut crease or getting right into the corners. I used it here to apply a medium brown shade to my crease for a little depth.

Remember the dual-ended Angled Liner and Spoolie brush from above? Here I am using the liner side to smudge out some kajal liner. I also ran it across the kajal pencil to pick up some pigment and worked it into my lashline to make sure every bit of my eye was filled in.

Verdict: MorpheMe Monthly Brush Club sent four high-quality brushes that have a total retail value of $36. I love the matte black handles and rose gold accents. The quality is great for such an affordable price and I like that each brush can be used in multiple ways. If you're worried about receiving too many similar brushes, remember that you can log onto your account and swap or skip a month anytime!
