This is a review of the Bulu Weight Loss Box.

Bulu Box (Weight Loss Version) March 2019 Review
There are box variations, and sometimes rather heavy product promotion, so you may not always get the same box as someone else or be able to make the connection to weight loss for each product:
The information cards are now generic rather than describing your items.
There was also some product literature. Sometimes this relates to items in the box and sometimes it does not.
Sun Warrior Protein Blend, Chocolate (25g) – Buy 15 Servings for $23.99
This is a plant-based protein from peas, goji berries, and hemp seeds that I have had before in several subscription boxes. I am not one to drink protein shakes (I find that plant-based proteins don’t blend well in water), but what I do like to do is add some protein to my morning smoothies, and this worked nicely there. (Blending is better with other ingredients like frozen fruit as there is a thicker texture that works well with the powder.)
This product was also in the regular Bulu Box this month.
Sun Warrior Protein Blend, Vanilla (25g) – Buy 15 Servings for $23.99
I have essentially the same things to say about this as I do with the chocolate, though my own personal flavor preference is for the chocolate. This is not bad, though, and it’s nice to get two different kinds to try because if you don’t like one, you might still like the other.
This product was also in the regular Bulu Box this month.
Jocko White Tea with Pomegranate (2 bags) – Buy 100 Bags for $24.99
If you had given this to me without any kind of label, I’d have just assumed it was an herbal tea, because it has a strong fruity flavor and the tea part is barely noticeable. (On the plus side, the lemongrass is also barely noticeable, which is great since I do not like lemongrass.) You should definitely go to the Amazon page (linked to in the product name) and read some of the product questions and answers as some of the company’s answers are quite funny.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts (15g) – Buy 1 lb for $10.29
Naturally, this arrives like one day after I bought an entire pound of this product at Whole Foods. I eat a pretty low-fat diet but want to make sure I’m getting a nice dose of healthful fats, so I like to put seeds in my morning smoothies, and I’ve decided after trying numerous kinds (pumpkin, flax, chia) that hemp seeds are my favorite (mostly because they leave no little bits of gunk stuck to my glass). This is the brand I usually buy. This little packet was good for about two days for me and is already gone.
Quicare Fuse Fast Acting Magnesium Oil (4 fl oz) – Retail Value $19.99
Here is another instance of Bulu Box reading my mind. Magnesium oil is advertised as being good for all sorts of ailments; I’m not sure what the research is on this one, but it is pretty harmless (especially in the short term). It *may* help with sleep, blood pressure, and muscle aches, and I was actually recently thinking of buying some as I had sore feet for a few days. And then this arrived. I can’t say for sure whether it’s really working or I just feel like it might be, but I sprayed this on my feet and lower legs at night and my feet don’t hurt any longer and also I have been getting decent sleep lately. (I prefer this to an ingested magnesium supplement as those can, over time, cause trouble with calcium levels.)
Simple Being Nutrition Simple Diet Green Coffee Bean, African Mango, Acai, and Resveratrol Supplement (2 capsules) – Buy 60 Capsules for $24.99
This has green coffee bean extract and African mango, which show up in a lot of weight loss supplements but which are of dubious efficacy. It also claims to have a lot of antioxidants and that is probably true since resveratrol is an antioxidant and acai has some as well. This also has grapefruit powder, apple cider vinegar (which does nothing for weight loss), kelp (which may help if you are low on iodine, I suppose), green tea extract, and caffeine. This is not a vegetarian supplement as the capsules include gelatin. If you are thinking of trying this, I’d advise doing it at a quiet time to make sure it doesn’t cause any issues with blood pressure or heart rate because you don’t want to be finding out about side effects in the midst of a workout.
The Verdict: There were 6 samples this month (counting the tea bags together as one item). If you paid full price for this subscription, you paid about $1.67 for each item. I was pretty happy with the box because the highest priced item was something I’d been thinking of buying anyway, and because the size was generous. Everything else was basically just extra.
I’d strongly recommend using our MYSUB799 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both since there is a lot of product repetition between the two.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, April would be your first shipment. Also, keep in mind that there are variations in the boxes, so your box might not be exactly like mine in any given month.
Value Breakdown: The April box has 6 samples, so subscribers at full price are paying about $1.67 per sample. Alternatively, the magnesium oil goes for $19.99, which is higher than the subscription price, so everything else is just a bonus.
