Sisley February 2019 "Rich and Comforting" Review
Each box comes with a card sharing the theme of the box. This month is "Rich and Comforting".
And detailing the items included with tips on how to use them:
Now, on to the items!
Each month's products come nestled inside a satin pouch.
Black Rose Precious Face Oil, 0.01 fl oz - Estimated Value $2.80 (Buy a full size 0.84 oz for $235.00)
This little sample was so small, but it was packaged so beautifully I was very excited to use it. The little orb snapped open for a single use and I warmed it in my palms then patted it into my skin. Like all Sisley products, it smelled amazingly floral, botanical, and rich. My skin felt really soft after application. Since this formula contains both plum and camelina oil (both rich in fatty acids) I know it would have great long term benefits for my skin, but sadly this little sample was kind of a one-time pampering experience rather than enough to test this product long term.
Sisley L'Integral Anti-Age, 4 ml - Estimated Value $42.00 (Buy a full size 50 ml for $525.00)
This is the sort of formula I think of when I think of this brand: velvet creams with luxe ingredients and a smell that is out of this world amazing. This cream has a plethora of skin-loving ingredients that work together to help your skin resist the signs of aging associated with moisture loss and stress. It can be used both day and night but I will be saving this little tube for night time use right before bed, so my skin is extra radiant in the morning.
Instant Perfect, 1.4 ml - Estimated Value $5.04 (Buy a full size 20 ml here for $72.00)
I think another name for this product could be "primer", as this silky formula goes on your face before makeup and leaves your pores and overall skin texture much smaller and smoother, respectively. It didn't have that characteristic Sisley scent, but the formula itself was great! In addition to priming my skin for makeup, it also was super hydrating, something that many primers can't claim. It finished in a satin powder texture and my makeup sat on top of it without moving all day.
Sisley Izia Perfumed Body Lotion, 8 ml – Estimated Value $6.13 (Buy a full size 150 ml for $115.00)
I have gotten this lotion sample before in a Sisley box and it is by far one of my favorite of their products. I absolutely adore the scent, a dreamy and slightly odd mix of florals and pink peppercorn. It is complex and off-kilter enough for me to love it, but feminine and approachable enough to not offend people nearby. This lotion is powerfully scented, so much that you need not even wear perfume. This pouch actually lasts quite some time for a sample, so I am thrilled to have another round of this fragrance.
Precious Hair Care Oil, 10 ml - Estimated Value $10.00 (Buy a full size 100 ml for $100.00)
I don't generally use hair oils, as I try to keep my rather textured hair pretty dry because I love volume. This blend of passion fruit, moringa, cotton, and shea oils is super lightweight and very slippery. I did apply this to my damp hair before bed, and although I loved the scent, I don't see something like this becoming part of my general routine. I refuse to let any Sisley products go to waste though, and found that the leftovers on my hands were quite moisturizing when rubbed in, and this stuff actually made for a great cuticle oil!
Verdict: Sisley always feels like such a luxury, even when they send small samples. Each of their products feels amazing and smells even better! My favorites this month were the anti-aging cream and my second dose of perfumed lotion. I also loved the face oil, though a one time use is never ideal. The hair oil will get plenty of use, although not on my hair, and the primer was really fun to try! This month had a value of $65.97, which is a great value for a $10 box. The packets often do have at least two uses, so be careful with them and always use a toner before if you can because it will help you use less of this precious products each time!
