SinglesSwag March 2019 Review

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Info Card

Each box comes with an information card listing the items included in the box as well as an encouraging monthly quote.

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Bath Bombs In Package SinglesSwag March 2019 - Bath Bombs Out Of The Package

Mann Kadar Sea Mineral Bath Bombs – Listed Value $15.00

I received 3 bath bombs in sea minerals, upon opening the box I smelled a perfume aroma from the bath bombs. There was nothing special about these bath bombs except my water was soft. I’m not a fan of baths so when I do indulge I want a spa-like
experience and this did not deliver. There was a faint perfume aroma that lingered as I took a bath.

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Package Of Lip Plump SinglesSwag March 2019 - Lip Plump Container And Wand

Skin Chemists -London – Rose Quartz Youth Defence Lip Plump – Retail Value $39.00 (found here for $33.00)

The lip plump was moisturizing on my lips, with a glossy effect. I didn’t notice a fuller pout and besides my lips are naturally full with its own pout. I did notice the peppermint oil, the scent was slight. It intends to boost, plump, and give my lips a glow Overall, I love receiving lip products especially one that produces a gloss.

From Skin Chemists:

Our Rose Quartz Lip Plump can give you a fuller pout without the pain and commitment offered by fillers. This Lip Plump is designed to hydrate the lips, whilst actively boosting them for a fuller pout, leaving them soft and slightly glossy. Providing all the benefits of a lip gloss and a lip balm, with an actively pumping effect.

With key ingredient Volulip, derived from the ‘Kiss Me Quick’ plant, this lip plump aims to stimulate the production of Hyaluronic Acid, producing an active plumping effect. Circulation of blood to the surface of the lip is further enhanced by Peppermint Oil producing a fuller pout.

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Necklace With Pouch SinglesSwag March 2019 - Necklace SinglesSwag March 2019 - Close-up Of Circle Pendant

Kevia Circle Pendant Long Necklace – Retail Value $75.00

This black rhodium-plate 30” long chain has a 2” circular 18k gold plate pendant attached. The two different metals aren’t aesthetically pleasing. I’m more accustomed to chain and pendant matching, but this may grow on me. Enclosed on the info card is a code for 25% off my purchase on Kevia’s website and the code doesn’t expire, the dates on the card aren’t valid. Also, the necklace came in a small bag perfect for gifting. Pictured below is me wearing the necklace.

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Bag Of Popcorn SinglesSwag March 2019 - Back Of Bag With Ingredients SinglesSwag March 2019 - Popcorn On The Plate

Oogie’s Gourmet Orginal Kettlecorn Popcorn, 1oz – Listed Value $3.00 (buy 18, 1 oz bags for $34.99)

This kettle corn was delicious and I devoured it while typing this review. I received a 1oz snack size bag that yields 3.5 cups of popcorn and consists of sugar, sunflower oil, salt, and of course popcorn. The taste is unique and flavorful. I have tried various brands of kettle corn but this brand by far is the best.

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Package Of Nail Growth Serum SinglesSwag March 2019 - Bottle And Applicator Of Nail Growth Serum

Lauren B. Beauty Nail Growth Serum 0.08oz – Retail Value $75.00

OMG, $75.00 for this nail serum, yes you read that right, $75.00!!! My nails better grow at this price. This item is a favorite of the SinglesSwag Team. Some of the beneficial ingredients include castor seed oil, lavender oil, Yiang Yiang flower oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and safflower oil. It is recommended to brush directly onto my nails before polish or on my bare nails, once or twice a day. I was able to use once so I can not speak on the effectiveness, hopefully, over time, it will increase growth in my nails. The wand and the brush tip yielded enough product to cover my nail.

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Balm Front Of Package SinglesSwag March 2019 - Balm Back Of Package

LXMI Pure Nilotica Melt 1.67oz – Retail Value $28.00

This ultra-hydrating and smoothing balm intends to brighten my skin and improve and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I can use as an overnight mask or hydrate my skin through the day. I opted to apply the balm onto my skin after my cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. The balm is thick but once applied to my skin it melted onto my face.

From LXMI:

As a 100% organic, single-ingredient skin savior, this luxurious balm-to-oil deeply nourishes thirsty skin to help smooth visible imperfections. The texture starts as a silky butter and then absorbs quickly into the skin. The micro-crystals found in the Pure Nilotica Melt will dissolve on your skin, and prove that the nuts were cold-pressed in temperate Uganda v. refrigerated lab conditions. You can use as an overnight mask or throughout the day where needed.

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Eye Pads In Package SinglesSwag March 2019 - Instructions

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Coin Pouch

Oh K! Cooling Eye Pads – Listed Value $12.00

I received a pair of panda eye cooling gel eye pads. They intend to de-puff and energize my eye area. Just chill for 1-2 hours or overnight in fridge and place on the eye area for 5-10 minutes. I had to peel the adhesive backing that was stuck on the pads that
adhered to the inside of the package, as well as clean the area before applying on my eyes. The eye gels were cooling, were heavy on my eyes and they started to slide off but I adjusted it and it was fine. It was a nice cooling, relaxing moment that soothed my eyes.

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Headbands

Bonus Item: Manduka Yogitoes Headbands – Listed Value $28.00

I received 12 stretchy headbands that are 94% organic cotton and 6% spandex in white. Subscribers will receive a variety of colors. Their website has an 18 count headband but I didn’t find a 12 count. I usually don’t wear headbands and will gift to a friend. The
headband is wide and stretchy. I’m wearing the necklace and headband seen below:

SinglesSwag March 2019 - Selfie

Verdict: The March SinglesSwag box was a hit and I enjoyed all the products except for the white headbands that I will gift to a friend. This curation prepped my skin, lips, nails, and eye area, as well as giving me two accessories. This box still delivers after
all these years and I have enjoyed the products thus far. This is a solid women’s lifestyle box that brings beauty products, books, accessories, and a yummy snack. SinglesSwag gives out monthly spoilers on their boxes, so be sure to sign-up for notifications!

  1. I’ve been trying to put my comments on this post multiple times with no luck! I can not stand the darn filter ERGH!!!!!!

  2. I don’t care about these negative comments I really liked this box and I pretty much get all the main subs. I’m actually using most of the products and that’s hard to say for any of my other subs! And I definitely think the value was there this month. I really like the lip stuff it works really well and the nail stuff is actually working after a week and a half, I have nails that never get long because the peel and always break but since using the serum they’re actually growing and haven’t peeled. The popcorn was really good and I’m happy to have found the melt moisturizer it really helps my dry places! Now the necklace is hideous but u can’t win them all and I also got all black headbands and I’m stoked because black is my fav color, pretty much all I wear. I’m a single lady and this box came and helped me feel a lil pampered so that’s good for me, I think I spent under 20$ cause I used the 40% off coupon and I would’ve never been able to get all these items for that amount on my own!! And now I see the spoilers for next months box and they’re looking pretty good as well so personally I’m happy with this box, very happy!!😛😛😛

  3. If you check under the expiry date sticker on the back of panda eye pads, it says they’ve expired in July 2018. Disappointed with this dodgy behaviour. Not sure how much more I’ve paid for expired products.

    • Wow, I didn’t catch that, mine says 7/2019. Reach out to customer service.

  4. Just got my box. I’ve used the LXMI melt before and really like it. Very hydrating. Happy that I got the black headbands. I have terrible nails that split and peel. Hoping the nail serum will help. Will use everything in the box except maybe the necklace. I don’t like the different metals together.

  5. I am newly single after 30 years, just moved to a new house, and am starting a new career. A friend came to visit for a weekend and sent me this box as a thank you gift. Maybe part of it is the context, but getting this box in the mail today made me feel loved and special. I can’t wait to use each and every item in the box. I love it.

    • As a gift from a friend I’d also appreciate it. Spending my hard earned money on it- NOPE. Nothing new or exciting and the reviewer is correct in that those 2 metals together are not aesthetically pleasing.

      • How does a charcoal colored metal not go with every other possible metal? Gold? Check. Rose gold? check. Silver? Check.

  6. I got a pack of all black headbands which made me sad, would have preferred muti colored ones since I wear them for work. But like she said, they are thin with unfinished edges so they’re not the best. This was my first box and I wasn’t super impressed, especially since I thought the spoiler items were things everyone received but I didn’t get the panda eye pads which I really wanted.

    • I had the same experience. Got all black head bands that were not the best. This was my first box and I was really not impressed. I also did not get the Panda eye pads. The necklace being valued at $75 had to be a misprint, I would never buy it, but definitely not worth even $15. The website says 6-7 items, you would think that on your first month you would get the full 7 items to hook you in better. I’ll give them 1 more month, maybe this was just an off month.

  7. Maybe I am interpreting things wrong, but it seemed like there were more misses than just the headbands. I don’t feel like the individual reviews match the verdict at all.
Please correct me if I’m wrong!

    • That was my impression. I thought the review was overall negative and was a bit surprised to see it described as a hit in the verdict.

      • Ladies, I see your point and missed the mark on this one and my verdict was skewed and my apologies for the misguided verdict. A learning lesson for next month.

      • No worries Nich! 🙂

  8. I subscribe to this box because they ALWAYS have coupons, for the 20ish dollars paid per month with the discount, I feel it’s a good amount of usually quality and unique items I may not have treated myself to. As a SINGLE mom, it is one of the 1st and only boxes I continue to subscribe to, always comes early in the month, has great customer service, and a great mix of treats for me! I don’t know why others continue to slam it, or what it is better they’re used to receiving, but that’s just me.

    • It wasn’t- their jewelry is extremely cheap and always gets corroded or the coatings peel off after less than two weeks of wear. And the majority of their expensive jewelry looks like something hand-selected for the coolest seven year old in school.

They also don’t try to charge you until it’s too late to cancel the box that you just paid for because they pre-order the materials for the box. They auto re-upped my subscription and I emailed to cancel the box because it’s worthless, and they told me that they could only give me a refund for 5 of the 6 boxes I was charged for. I was extremely unsatisfied.

Additionally, they sent me makeup that’s for an African American person’s skin color, and I’m as pale white as can be. Why would they send you flesh tone makeup if they don’t even vaguely know your race? It makes no sense and the product is totally useless to me. I love the idea- but I hate the service and do not think it’s anywhere near worth the money.

      • What makeup are u talking about?

  9. I don’t get the “singles” part of this at all. I am single and nothing is geared towards me. This should be called the “what junk can we stuff in a box and charge $40.00 for” box.

  10. Yikes!! This box might as well have come empty.

  11. I have hair loss issues and therefore I wear headbands every single day. I do also like a few of the other items so I may be interested in this box. Was the collection of headbands that each subscriber got all in one color or were they all different colors?

    • I received coral to blue rainbow of colors. I like the colors, though they aren’t all the most flattering. What bothers me is that they are one layer, thin material, with unfinished edges.

Also, I tried to skip this box and they sent it anyway.

  12. the worst box ever….

  13. The necklace by kevia is terrible. It looks like they just through their extra pieces together and called it a necklace.

    • I agree about the necklace. Did not like it at all.

    • And see, I love it and think it’s the best thing in the box. It’s such a nice change from the tiny, dainty, delicate jewelry we too often see in subs.

  14. The “Verdict” section summarizes a different box, not this one. None of those products are in this box…

    • Thanks for catching, Heather! Last month’s verdict was accidentally added to this review (it’s now removed!), but this month’s verdict is available! – Sara

  15. I didn’t get the eye patches! I don’t even remember seeing them on the products sheet. =/

It was funny getting 12 of these headbands in the box as a fun extra and then getting one in the popsugar box as an actual item. How far both boxes seem to have come…
