Ascend All-Natural Bold & Smokey BBQ Beef Jerky (3 oz.) – Retail Value $6.99

First up was this delicious bold and smokey barbeque flavored beef jerky. This is exactly what I want my beef jerky to taste like! It is chewy, packed with smokey BBQ flavor, and leaves me wanting more! Not only does it taste great, but there is no added MSG, no nitrites, no preservatives, and no erythorbate. They also used beef that was raised without added growth hormones. This one is definitely a win for me!

Next up is Boston Jerky Co. Wicked Original beef jerky. This jerky had a much drier texture than the previous beef jerky, but it proved to be very tasty! The wicked original flavoring was slightly smokey, salty, with a hint of spice. I definitely had no problem tasting, and re-tasting this stuff! Will there be any left for my husband and kids to try? Probably not….Besides tasting great, it is also important to note it is made with 100% grass-fed beef, with no nitrates/nitrites, and no MSG. Fun fact: this whole bag is only 100 calories and 6 grams of carbs!

Katie’s Smoky BBQ Beef Jerky (2.3 oz.) – Retail Value $7.99

This bag featured 3 larger pieces of beef jerky that almost looked like mini dehydrated steaks! This jerky is definitely dry in texture and is packed with a smoky flavor that I feel took a little bit away from the BBQ flavor. It is good, but I preferred the Ascend beef jerky. Like the above brands, Katie’s beef jerky is all natural, has no MSG, and no added nitrites.

Pearson Ranch Venison and Pork Snack Stick (1 oz.) – Value $2.19

This is the first snack stick I tried, and it is really good! With venison being such a lean meat, it is sometimes hard to get a good consistency of a snack stick, but these seemed about perfect. They held together and weren’t greasy like others I have tried in the past. And honestly, if the package didn’t state it was venison, I would have thought it was beef. I also like that there are no nitrates or nitrites added, it is gluten-free, and there is no MSG.

The last item in the bag was this Elk snack stick. This stick had a slight hickory flavor, great consistency, and was very tasty. Honestly, it tasted almost identical to the venison snack stick. Yum! Like the venison stick, there are no nitrates or nitrites added, it is gluten-free, and there is no MSG!

Verdict: This was the first time I have received Jerky Snob and I am a fan! I love beef jerky and discovering new flavors and brands, and this subscription is a great way to do that. I also love the fact that they sent venison and elk. My favorite item in this box was the Ascend Bold and Smokey BBQ Beef Jerky, but I enjoyed all of them. This subscription might also be my Father’s Day gift to my impossible to buy for dad!

I received five separate items, valued at $27.35. The cost of the box is $32.30 ($27 plus $5.30 shipping), but if you were to order these items from the separate companies, the value would be increased due to separate shipping costs.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly. If your first order is placed before the 7th of the month, your second package will ship on the 22-24 of the same month. Order after the 7th, your second box will ship the following month.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $27 + $5.30 shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $6.46.

While I am taking a time-out from being a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, I am currently staying at home with my 2 sweet boys! My first subscription was Julep thanks to happening upon the MSA website, and it all went downhill from there! I have subscribed to Ipsy, Boxycharm, Degustabox, Julep, Graze, Bluum, Walmart, and more because I love a good surprise! I truly am a subscription addict!
