Cocotique “Red Carpet Ready” February 2019 Review
It’s awards season and our favorite celebs with be hitting the red carpet looking gorgeous as ever. This month’s Cocotique “Red Carpet Ready” box has products that will get you ready as well. This is basically an Eden Bodyworks take-over box but two additional products have been added to round out this month's beauty selections.

The back of the Cocotique info card describes all the products included in this month’s box, provides information on where to purchase the products online and offer exclusive discount codes. I really appreciate when boxes make the extra effort to provide this information.

Ebin New York 24 Hour Glossy Lipstick in Puffy – Retail Value $2.50
This affordable lipstick is moisturizing and hydrating, claims to be long-lasting and non-sticky and comes in this bright vivid red. It felt really moisturizing on my lips – like wearing Chapstick instead of lipstick. And, surprisingly, this red is super flattering!
Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Cleansing CoWash, 8oz – Estimated Retail Value $4.63 (Buy full-size for $9.25)
This deluxe travel size cowash is sulfate and suds-free and gently cleanses and conditions hair between regular washings. Like the other products in the Coconut Shea line, this smells amazing. I can’t wait until wash day!
Eden BodyWorks Coconut She Curl Defining Cream, 8 oz – Estimated Retail Value $4.63 (Buy full-size for $9.25)
Another deluxe travel size product, this curl defining cream’s goal is to separate and define curls. It’s also humidity-resistance and controls frizz. Eden BodyWorks is made in Atlanta. We know humidity and frizz far too well. I hope this product lives up to the hype!
Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Hair Balm, 6 oz – Retail Value $5.00
This hair balm contains coconut oil and shea butter that helps restore and moisturize your hair. I’m also excited that this product is made to apply to dry hair. I tend to use more oils than moisturizers so this product and the elixir included in this month’s box perfectly fills a gap in my hair regimen. I love this product – it’s my favorite thus far. The balmy consistency makes it perfect for greasing my scalp. This is a must try!
Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Styling Elixir, 4 oz – Retail Value $5.00
This elixir claims to prevent frizz and leave hair soft and shiny. It can also be used as a thermal protectant for heat styling. It did exactly what it claims to do! When applied to my dry hair, it left my hair shiny and so soft. If I have a no-heat style, like a braid out or two-strand twists, I’ll definitely use this product. But, because it goes on too “wet”, I would be hesitant to apply it to a fresh blowout.
Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave-In Conditioner, 4 oz – Estimated Retail Value $4.63 (Buy full-size here for $9.25)
This deluxe travel size leave-in conditioner contains coconut oil and moisturizing shea butter. It’s also sulfate free which is great. I already have my favorite leave-in but this was a close second. Overall, I’m really impressed with the Eden BodyWorks products.
Naturals of Alkebulan Moroccan Rhassoul Clay, 2 oz – Estimated Retail Value $8 (Buy the full-size jar for $15.99)
This Moroccan moisturizing dry mineral clay can be used to make a DIY facial or hair mask. I used it to make a moisturizing face mask using equal parts Rhassoul clay, honey, and water. I used about a teaspoon of each and it was plenty. Since clay masks are known to pull all the access oil from skin, I really focused on my t-zone. I was surprised that the clay mask barely smelled of anything. I was expecting a really earthy or funky smell but it was pleasant. The mask left my skin looking very clear and bright but also a bit dry and irritated. I think that’s probably due to how difficult it was to remove the mask. The next time, I will plan to rinse the mask off in the shower and be gentler.
The Verdict: Last month was a takeover box with all hair products, including a cowash, leave-in conditioner, and moisturizer. This month’s box is practically a takeover box too. It includes mostly hair products and some of the same types of hair products as in last month’s box. So, clearly, too many hair products! But, I am excited about the Eden BodyWorks brand! I’m loving the Coconut Shea line and the items I’ve tried have been amazing. Eden BodyWorks products are also not as expensive as other comparable products which makes them much more affordable. I also appreciate that the sample sizes in this month’s boxes are deluxe samples so there is plenty of product to be used. My favorite product in this month’s box is the hair balm. I highly recommend it! And, I actually don’t have a least favorite product this month. They were honestly all pretty great.
This Cocotique beauty box costs $25 with free shipping. I estimate the retail value to be $34.39 which is better than last month’s box with one fewer product. However, it is significantly lower than a previous month’s box that had an $80 estimated value. I would have loved if they included all full-sized items or other items for the Coconut Shea line. That way, the value of this box would be in line with how impressive this month’s products were!
