Wantable Style Edit January 2019 Review
When I signed up for this service, I took a pretty lengthy quiz in which I indicated my price, size and style preferences. I would expect what I receive to be reflective of my tastes, and for these boxes to vary quite a bit from subscriber to subscriber. There is also a note from my stylist, Tatjana. It explains why she chose the items she picked for me.
This is the invoice of the items they sent me this month. On the right, it shows my cost to keep each item. The total comes to $461. If I keep everything, I get 20% off, plus I get my $20 styling fee deducted. That means a potential discount of $116.20. That’s a deep discount!
Split Sleeve Top by W. by Wantable – Cost to Keep $54
I think this is my favorite piece I have ever received from W. by Wantable, Wantable’s own label. I love it! The color is so rich and such a beautiful shade of pink! It’s a comfortable cotton knit, so you know I obviously love that. Those sleeves, though, so stylish! It’s also a great cut and fit, so this top is just an all-around winner.
Alexa Crop Pant in Black by Michel Studio – Cost to Keep $66
These pants are so comfy and cute, there’s no good reason not to keep them. They are a stretchy synthetic blend, but they have an easy fit anyway. The faux zipper pockets are a really stylish touch, too! I like the length on me as well – they are supposed to be cropped, but that makes them ankle pants on me, haha.
Amie Cozy Stripe Cardigan by W. by Wantable – Cost to Keep $65
This cotton knit cardigan is so pretty! I love the color. I also really like this open draped style; it’s very flattering. Cardigans have been my go-to look all winter this year as we have had very few heavy coat days. Cardigans are always very handy for layering indoors and out.
Lauren Lace Top by KIYONNA – Cost to Keep $79
I usually love everything from Kiyonna, but this top does not work for me. The cut and length are not very flattering on me. It’s a thick polyester with a lace overlay, which is very pretty, but it is also a little more matronly than my typical style. It’s a beautiful piece, but it is just not right for me, unfortunately.
Military Jacket by Meritage – Cost to Keep $88
This jacket is awesome! I am so bummed the color does not really pop in these pictures like it does in real life. It’s a much brighter green than the olive it appears to be in the pictures, and it’s just a gorgeous shade! It’s the perfect length for me, too. It’s a heavy cotton, almost like denim. I love it!
Stripe Cinched Sleeve Top by Design History – Cost to Keep $58
I really wanted to try this top because it looked great on the model, but the cut is not good for me. It’s too long and straight. I love the little red stripes, and I absolutely love the cinched sleeves. That is such a stylish detail! The fit is just a bummer. It’s kind of too big in places and too small in others, so I will have to pass.
Jasmine Floral Blouse by Kut From the Kloth – Cost to Keep $68
This is another one that looked amazing on the model but not so good in real life. It’s a polyester chiffon, but I had no idea how sheer it would be! The tabbed sleeves are cute, but they don’t function well. The fabric is kind of slinky, so the rolled up sleeve unrolls and falls out of the tabs, and I know that would drive me crazy. I will have to pass on this one, too. Pretty colors, though.
The Verdict: I really usually love my Wantable Style Edit! This month was a mixture of hits and misses, which is to be expected, but I love the pink top and the jacket so much. I feel like, in terms of cost and value, Wantable sends a good mix of inexpensive and pricier pieces. I also love that they send seven pieces! It’s so fun!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20.00 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside was $481.00. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 20% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $364.80 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s a savings of about 24%. The average price per piece is $68.71.
