February 2019 Loot Remix Review
Loot Remix included an introductory card in my box this month.
The Walking Dead Soap-On-A-Rope – Retail Value $3.99 (found here for $1.99)
Confession: I have never watched The Walking Dead. Not for lack of interest, well maybe a little, but more because I enjoy binging different types of shows. When I saw this in my box, I was engrossed and curious.
The details on the ears are icky, the soap feels icky and slimy and has no scent. I don’t know what I will do with this soap-on-a-rope but it was definitely an interesting item. Eric also received this item exactly 3 years ago in the February 2016 Loot Crate.
Gears of War Plush Grenade – Retail Value $9.99 (found here for $4.99)
My guys are more PlayStation types, so I have never heard of this game. A quick search indicates it has to do with shooting and stuff, so one (me) would assume grenades are a weapon of choice. This plush is round and a little firm and the kids enjoy tossing it around.
Battleborn Al Minion Pin – Retail Value $2.99 (found here for $1.99)
This month’s box included a pin subscribers received in May 2016 (see Eric’s review here!) I like Loot Crate’s pins and designs, they are always right on.
Anti-Magic Academy Scarf – Retail Value $5.99 (found here for $2.99)
The last item I received in this month’s Loot Remix is this scarf. It is after an anime book series, which I have never heard of. The scarf is cute but is super thin. I am not sure if I will wear it due to the colors, but it seems like a cool item to have especially if you’re a fan Anti-Magic Academy.
Verdict: This month’s Loot Remix was a total miss for me. I have never seen, played or read The Walking Dead, Gears of War, Battleborn or The Anti-Magic Academy, but that is what is exciting about this box: you do not know what you will receive. You only know the items you do receive are items from past Loot Boxes of all kinds. One thing I found interesting was the discovery of the Loot Vault, where I was able to locate all the items in this month’s box. While the $22.96 total value exceeded the $14.99 cost of the box, including free shipping, the items are on sale in the Loot Vault and came in a little under the value of the box ($11.96). This box has a promised value of $30 and this month’s box definitely came in under that. I think that we should be receiving a few more items than just 3-5 to meet that value.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will get a box with a different mix of items.
Value Breakdown: This box costs $14.99 + free shipping, which means that each of the 4 items in the box has an average cost of $3.75.
