I got my Glossybox today. I got the face cleanser. What I don’t understand is how this is a fair exchange for a full size $29 eye serum. The face cleanser is travel size and worth $8.40.

I know I am way late in replying but I had to say be careful what you wish for. I received the Trestique in BROWN. I mean a brown that no one could wear.
I stupidly resubscribed to this box because they offered a free mystery box and this is what I get. (I thought Glossybox was supposed to offer higher end brands?) I am cancelling immediately. Unfortunately I have two more months of this trainwreck to go!

The cute box itself was the best thing. The items…disappointing. It was the last of my 3 month subscription….I dont think I will renew.

This box is awful. So glad this is my last box.

Very disappointed with the substitution! My small palette was everywhere although the small container seemed sealed! Very disappointed with this box. I’m so glad this is my last box! I love the boxes they come in but don’t care for the products in it! 🙁

My box was none of these.

It had a note that I was receiving the Manna Kador instead of the Bloom Mascara. While I have nothing particular against MK except that I have never heard of the brand except in a beauty box, the packaging is particularly cheap and the colors awful.

Is it really a profitable business model to make cosmetics to be put into beauty boxes?

I received the

Psst Dry Shampoo – eh

Trestique Prime and Color Lip Glaze in English Rose – this seems interesting

PS Arizona Perfume – it’s actually a large enough size to last awhile. The tiny samples really shouldn’t count as anything but a “sample” bonus.

Rose Quartz Youth Defence (sic) Lip Plump – I don’t believe anything actually plumps lips but a nice thick lip moisturizer useful to apply in the evening

First Aid Beauty cleanser – would have preferred the Eye Serum as it seemed more unique but my friend likes this brand so I’ll pass it along

I *love* that you used “sic.” So few people do! However, because Glossybox is based in Britain, “defence” is actually correct because that is how they spell it over there. I really wish those Brits would learn English! 😉

I’m looking forward to trying the lip plump and like your idea of using as a nighttime moisturizer because I prefer to wear color during the day.

I hope I get the Trestique. Did you happen to notice on the box which box variation you received? I’m getting number 2, but it isn’t here yet.

I’ve been on and off with this box for years now and it keeps getting cheesier, I’m sorry to say. Mascara is pretty basic and usable, the cheap looking sparkly eye shadow palette is not. I also received Kenra hairspray, not the dry shampoo. It’s too bad really, I really wanted to like it better and sad that this will be my last 3 month subscription to this.

I’ve been on the fence about keeping glossy. I’m actually looking forward to this box!

I wish the cheap dry shampoo was a variant.

No complaints here, I actually like dry shampoo since I work out and it keeps me from having to wash my hair multiple times a day. I also really liked all the doucce lip products I’ve received lately even over other highly rated brands (looking at you, Stila). But, I don’t use cream cleansers so that would be the only miss. Also, I’ve never received Manna Kadar so I don’t understand the hate yet.

Luna

I think most of the hate is due to Manna Kadar being a “subscription box” brand, meaning you don’t see it anywhere else but in subscription boxes, and for those that sub to multiple boxes, it can be a quite common brand to receive. I’m not much into makeup so the majority of my Manna Kadar items were gifted, but those who received them really liked the products and felt they were of good quality. I’ve also tried a few of their lip glosses and a mascara primer, and I thought they were really decent. I remember back in the day (in sub box times… like only a few years ago) this was true of Ofra… you’d only see the brand in sub boxes, but the quality wasn’t bad or anything. Now it’s sold in Ulta, and it seems like it’s a pretty sought after brand.

I see Manna Kadar all the time…………….at Ross. Lol! But I think it is a fine brand, too. I mean, I have no complaints. I don’t get excited about it or anything, but it seems to be ok.

Flora

Thanks for the clarification, Luna! I received an Ofra highlighter from Ipsy for a missing product and while I’m not too big on highlighters, the quality is very good.

Laura, while I don’t mind dry shampoo and that brand is actually not too bad, I, too am wondering why a $3 drug store item is in this box. It does seem out of place.

Ra

What are ML or OZ of the perfume???

I got mine today and I think it’s .35 ounce.

Emilia

A disappointing filling. I only subscribed for the pretty box. The perfume will be gifted to a fragrance aficionado in my circle, the patches will be useful for my daughter, the lip stuff I’ll try. The dry shampoo (if) will be gifted. I hope for the eye serum.

Dora Duvisac

Well if I got the face cleanser that would be great, that’s about the only thing I would use in this box. And I’m excited for the perfume! That’s about it though, oh well, maybe next time!

This is my last box of a three month sub, and I’m not sad. I can’t believe I’m hoping for a doucce product, yet I am. I already have two back ups of the eye oil and the face wash. Not excited about the other products either– I don’t use dry shampoo, already have the lip chemist product, and don’t wear perfume. Sorry glossybox, you are going out on a whimper. I’m hoping you’re putting your energy into a stellar mother’s day box.

I’m excited for the Proenza Schouler parfum…most other items are repeats for me (MK, FAB, eye serum, acne patches, dry shampoo…). I am so over MK it’s going straight to my donate box and the eye serum is a repeat for me since it was included in my Look Fantastic box. It’s a good serum though…high quality and definitely smells of pomegranate.

Ugh. Now I wish I hadn’t been sucked in by the box. Dry shampoo and MK. More stuff I don’t use. I think it might be time to reevaluate my subs.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

I hear ya. I went on a 2019 box cancellation spree as part of my NY resolution and this is one of the boxes that got cut (along with Play!, Birchbox, Look Fantastic and a couple others). I’m now down to 3: Allure, Ipsy and IGBP. I thought I’d miss all of the deliveries but it hasn’t been too bad. There is no FOMO here.

disneyjoy1970

I’m totally cool with any of these variations. I have loved ones who will use the products I am not interested in, so I get to share. No complaints on my end.

Redhed36

All of these boxes would be a miss for me. I would only be interested in the eye serum, purfum sample, and the First Aid Beauty products.

Shay

Dry shampoo and Manna Kadar? *screams internally* Easy pass but the box is pretty!

Nina

Hoping for the Serum or Face Cleanser. Don’t need another berry shade lip crayon. *crosses fingers*

Cathy

Me too! Really hoping for the eye serum!

I actually like this box. I remember that Psssssttttt from when I was a teen-ager. I have not seen it in the stores where I live. May opt in for this box.

CINDY

Oof – glad I’m no longer subbed to this one. Yikes!

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

Not more dry shampoo?!!!! Seems to be a fall back filler. I don’t have to worry about acne but I will pass along the patches so that’s okay.
Better than more masks because everyone I know is overloaded with them from other subs.
