Olio E Osso Lustero Body Oil, Travel-size – Estimated Value $10.00 (Buy the full size 4 oz here for $60.00)

This beautiful oil smells like pure summer and has a really lovely shimmer! I could definitely see myself using this on my legs to give them a pretty glow. The mica particles do settle, so if you want to see benefits of the oil without the shimming finish, simply use it without shaking it! The grape and olive oils are really nourishing to the skin and absorb easily.

COOLA Mineral Sunscreen Matte Finish SPF 30, 1.7 fl oz – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $36.00

Gosh, I love this brand! COOLA makes sunscreen cool. If you read my reviews you know that I preach sunscreen as the first line of defense when it comes to anti-aging. Get your sunscreen routine in place before you even think of investing in any of those fancy serums or creams. This formula is exceptional because it doesn’t have that super gross filmy feeling that so many sunscreens do and it even has a true matte finish. The cucumber scent is very light and minimal but gives this cream a really fresh feel.

Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box milk spray Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box milk spray info

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray, 5 oz  – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $20.00

This leave-in conditioner has a really nice scent. In addition to smelling pretty, it also left my hair super soft and shiny. I have super thick hair and I always let it air dry. This formula also enhanced my super soft natural waves and gave my hair a nice tousled but still polished finish.

RMS Beauty Wild with Desire Lipstick in Temptation, 4.5 g – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $28.00

This is basically my ideal lip color, so I was thrilled when I opened the tube! I am also happy to report that instead of a matte finish, this has a soft satin sheen that is very hydrating. The dirty mauve should work on all skin tones and is super pigmented, coating my lips in a single stroke. This is one of those lipsticks that leaves your lips feeling even better after using it than before, likely due to the RMS beauty oil in each tube.

HAN Skin Care Cosmetics All Natural Eye Shadow in Celebrate, 3 g – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $15.00

I love a super soft shadow that I can wear all day without feeling overdone. This pale champagne shadow certainly fits the bill! It has a velvet finish and a subtle shimmer. If you like in-your-face pigment, this might not be your fave, but I love that I can also use it as a highlighter and its all natural ingredients make this a great choice for sensitive skin or the ingredient conscious.

Easy to say I am obsessed with both of these shades for easy everyday wear.

Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box mascara open Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box mascara

W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Mascara, 8.5 g  – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $21.99

I already have a pair of favorite mascaras that I have been going between for years, but I really love this brand so I was more than fine trying this one out. While I didn’t find this formula particularly volumizing, it did add a ton of length to my lashes. It is actually a great option for those more fresh-faced “no makeup” days. It had a glossier finish than my normal picks, but I was kind of weirdly into it. My eyes can be sensitive to mascaras, so trying a new one made me a little nervous, but the gentle and natural ingredients in this formula make it a great third place choice in my mascara lineup.

Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box brow gel Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box brow gel open

Jane Iredale PureBrow Brow Gel in Clear, 4.8 g – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $21.00

I wanted to be more excited about this brow gel, but my eyebrows always need a little tint because I plucked them into oblivion in high school and they have never fully recovered. This brand does sell tinted versions, which I think I would have loved. As far as this formula goes, it was very light and held my brows in place without feeling… crispy? Does that make sense? It also did not dry out and flake off, which is my pet peeve for brow gels. I might buy the tinted version since this formula was a winner for me.

Acure Seriously Soothing Micellar Water Cleansing Towelettes, 30 towelettes – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $6.99 (currently out of stock)

I really loved these basic but effective towelettes! Micellar water is a makeup removing powerhouse, and I love that it doesn’t strip my skin while it does take off the dirt of the day. No scent in these, so sensitive skin rejoice! I also liked the minimal but very pretty packaging and found that the little “door” stayed nicely shut and none of the wipes dried out.

Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box mask Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box mask back Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box mask detail

DERMA E Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask, 1.7 oz – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $19.50

My dry skin doesn’t always react well to masks with charcoal and clays, so I passed this one on to my husband to test out. He liked that the mask itself dried a lighter shade of grey, so he knew when it was ready to wash off. His main concern is large pores, so charcoal with its super detoxifying power usually works well for his skin. It was smooth, refreshed, and his pores were visibly cleaner, though not much smaller. He liked the gentle but effective exfoliating texture.

Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box deodorant Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box deodorant back

milk + honey Regular Strength Deodorant No. 09 Lavender + Tea Tree, 2.6 oz – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $20.00

Ok, guys, this is the STAR of this box for me. This is my hero product. I am in love. I have been very interested in switching to a natural deodorant but the brands I have tried so far have only worked for maybe a few hours before that dreaded icky and wet sensation randomly materialized under my arms. Gross! Before this brand, I had not found a natural deo that lasted more than 4 hours and then left me running for my emergency stick of aluminum filled chalky magic. This tube now has my heart. It smells beautifully of lavender and left me dry and stink free ALL DAY! Tomorrow will be my 5th day wearing this and that means I am having a great start to the 30-day pit detox that so many of you have mentioned being the hardest part of the switch to that natural armpit lifestyle. I am officially a convert!

Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box lip balm Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box lip balm open

Eir NYC Simple Lips, 0.15 oz  – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $5.00

While this lip balm is as basic as basic gets, that is kind of the whole point! It only has three ingredients: coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax. All of these are incredible for your lips and leave them super soft and hydrated.

Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box roller Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box rose quartz roller Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box roller end Birchbox Limited Edition Clean Beauty Box roller smaller end

Birchbox Rose Quartz Face Roller – Listed Value $20.00

This is my second rose quartz roller in a sub, so I will be gifting this one. In addition to making any vanity look super fancy, these tools are awesome for calming inflamed skin, especially if you pop it into the fridge for 30 minutes before using it. I highly recommend taking a peek at Anna and Marne’s ICONIC post on the benefits of rollers in your beauty routine. I personally like to use mine right after washing my face, before my night serum and cream.

Verdict: This box has an estimated value of about $223.48, which is awesome for a $55 kit with such variety! If you are into natural products, or just want to try some out and maybe make some healthy swaps in your routine, this is a great place to start. The deodorant has me downright giddy and is by far the stand out in the box for me. I am also really thrilled to add the COOLA sunscreen and lipstick to my rotation. The eye shadow is beautiful and the mascara was a pleasant surprise for me. Every item in this kit impressed me, though the clear gel and the lip balm were a little less than exciting for someone who prefers a few bells and whistles. Even so, they are still incredibly high quality and super useful! My husband liked the charcoal mask, and I found the leave in hair conditioner really improved my hairs texture.

Can you still get this box today? Yes, as of publication, this kit is still available for purchase!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

  1. I’ve been eyeing this box and finally decided to get it with the 20% off sale going on sitewide. I got the box for $44 which I think is a great value for all the items you get.

  2. Can I be that friend who you give the roller to? OMG I want it so bad

  3. Aw, man. I was only kind of interested in this kit until I read this review, so now I really want it…even though I’ve used up all my product stash space, and my husband might think I’m crazy.

    • It was a good box for sure. My husband has pretty much accepted the insanity.

  4. Neither 15 percent off code is working for me.

    • Hey Barb! I just tried both and they are both still active and both take 15% off when I add them to my cart. I am not sure why they wouldn’t be working.

  5. Love this box! Only thing I wished it included was a herbivore product ;-(

    • Oh that would have been a great addition!

  6. Thanks for another great review Meghan! I’d seen this box but didn’t think I would necessarily get enough use out of it to justify spending the money. Now I know better! I’m especially interested in the deodorant because I’ve been on a quest to replace my Secret. I’m not getting my hopes up too high because even with the unhealthy type there’s only a few brands that have ever worked well enough for me. I’d like to give this one a shot though.

    • You are welcome Dani! I tend to absolutely love the Birchbox limited editions so this was super fun to review. The deodorant is EVERYTHING. I legit went to their website and have it send on a bi-monthly basis after getting it in this box. I had pretty much given up on natural options before this one. I hope you love it too!

  7. That lipstick does look gorgeous!

    • It is such an easy color. I love anything I can apply without a mirror!

  8. Awesome box! I love the scent of Briogeo products! Crossing my fingers I win this from the Galentines Day event 🙂 Anyone know when they announce winners?

    • I am not sure but I am sending you all the luck! <3

  9. I used to use that Well People mascara and stopped because it was so harsh on my eyes. I had a rough day once while wearing it and cried, and my eyes burned so bad from the mascara in my eyes. I have never had that much pain from mascara getting into my eyes before.

    • Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been debating trying that mascara for a while now, but wasn’t sure I should spend the money. I have very sensitive, easy-to-water eyes so I think I’ll pass on this one!

    • This is good to know Serena! I didn’t have any issues, but this is worth keeping in mind with my sensitive eyes for sure.

  10. I find the coola pills under things (and over a serous I have with cones) bc of all the cones. Did you have any trucks to stop that? Wish I’d noticed the ingredients before I bought.

    • What.

      • Silicones. Not sure what else they’re saying, serous? Dunno. I’m guessing “trucks” -> “tips”

Silicones, though. Everything. Has. Silicones in it. I haven’t had problems with pilling from silicone products, but I’m crazy sensitive or allergic to them (burning, redness, flaking skin) so I just cut them out of my routine anyway. You’d think a clean beauty box would be all silicone-free. Alas, I’ll go back to crying in a corner.

      • Does coola have silicones in it?

      • I don’t know about Coola in general, but this Coola product specifically has Cyclopentasiloxane, a silicon-based compound, and Dimethicone Crosspolymer, a silicone derivative. Possibly more, I didn’t look farther, and different silicone-related ingredients may affect those sensitive to silicones differently. They’re about halfway down the ingredient list, and it’s a ways down after shea butter (I’ve had luck with products that contain silicones when they’re along with shea butter and in lower concentrations), so I wouldn’t expect to experience much of a reaction to it personally. I have a sample and a full size of Coola now that I use occasionally. I haven’t checked the ingredients on those as I just realized silicone is what has been causing my skin reaction to certain products, but I know that with low-silicone products I’ll only experience drying and irritation by the end of the day, nbd. Smashbox’s Photo Finish primer and Benefit’s Porefection both list various silicones as the primary ingredients and they both have literally made my skin peel off when testing them, before knowing about the silicone thing.

      • Seruos = Serums…. lol Idk

      • “I find the Coola pills under things (and over a serum I have with silicones) because of all the silicones. Did you have any tricks to stop that?”

    • I did not understand a word you said.

    • Ummmm what?

    • ^^^Not sure what this means…but it’s one of the funniest things I’ve read in a long time!!

    • I think she’s saying cones to shorten ingredients that end in cone like silicone and trucks was probably supposed to be tricks.

    • Hi Q! I didn’t have any pilling issues, but I tend to use a cream to powder foundation which I truly think helps! I used to have tons of issues when I was using a liquid option. I also apply any moisturizer ASAP after waking up and then I have a good 30 minutes before I apply makeup, meaning it is completely dry. Hope this helps! 🙂

  11. Thanks for the review! I’m so glad I read it. I read a lot of research on cosmetics and I don’t believe in the superiority of “natural” beauty products so I just skipped over this box. Now I’m going to return a few things I got and use that money for this box.

    • There are many natural ingredients that have beneficial properties for skin, but that doesn’t mean, in my opinion, that one must eschew all products that are not all natural. There are great products in both groups; I like the point you made that natural beauty products are not automatically superior because they are natural. It is easy to get sucked into that thinking because we’ve associated value judgments on the words natural versus and made in a lab. Judging a product on how it works for you skin, while not ignoring actual harmful ingredients, is the litmus text on how one should judge beauty products.

      • Very well put Leslie! I tend to use a healthy mix of natural and other. I like to use what works best with my skin, though I do really prefer products that are not tested on animals. I am thrilled there are so many awesome options that fall into that category now.

    • I am not super strict when it comes to vegan or natural either, I have to admit! I think you would really like this box though, because of the variety. And that deodorant tho… *heart eyes*

  12. Great review! After reading your review on the body oil I can’t help but laugh at myself for missing the obvious…. I’ve given away so many shimmery body oils because I’m not a fan of them, and I always think, “dang, if they had just sent a regular oil 🙁 “. Well, now I know I don’t “have” to shake it and I can just let the mica settle! Thanks for stating the obvious… I need someone to do that for me sometimes. 😀

    • Lol. I never considered doing this either…nothing like looking over the obvious…

      • This never occurred to me either. Great idea!

    • It was a tip I picked up a few months ago. I also felt like “what have I been doing my whole life…” haha!
