Kathleen Natural Bubble Bath & Shower Gel in Sensual Rose, 150ml - Retail Value $23.29
As much as I'd love to say I take lots of bubble baths, I just never seem to make the time, so I'm glad to see this can also be used as a shower gel. The scent is refreshing with lots of bright orange notes and a hint of rose. When used with a loofah, it foams up to a nice light lather and when used on your hands, it applies more like a cleansing oil. My skin feels clean and soft without any residue and the scent lingers as I'm getting ready.
Walden Perfume Gift Set, 6x2ml - Retail Value $19.41
These are the cutest little rollerball perfumes! In this gift set, there are 6 different scents from fresh to floral, spicy to sweet...something for any scent preference. They're more complex than straight essential oils but not anywhere near the intensity of traditional perfumes. The ingredients are simple, high-quality flower and fruit oils in an alcohol base. I love that I can pop these in my purse for a quick fragrance touch up. My favorite scent is "Castles In The Air," which is fresh and citrusy with notes of Ylang Ylang. My least favorite is "The Solid Earth," which just smells like grass and dirt.
Seascape Island Apothecary Refresh Hand & Nail Cream, 75ml - Retail Value $12.94
The packaging for this hand cream is so pretty! The formula is lightweight and sinks in fast leaving a thin protective layer of beeswax and shea butter to protect the skin and cuticles. You might not like it if you don't like the feel of lotion on your hands. I don't mind it because I need the sealing effect this barrier creates to keep the moisture in. The lemongrass and lavender fragrance is fairly strong at first but is fresh and not obnoxious.
Bali Balm Cinnamon & Burnt Orange Lip Balm, 15ml - Retail Value $25.88
This is some fancy packaging for a lip balm. But for almost $26, it suits it. This vegan balm uses natural waxes and oils to moisturize lips without leaving a waxy feel. It's smooth and has a balmy, not shiny, finish. The cinnamon and burnt orange scent is strong but there's only a subtly sweet flavor. And, if you are looking for a naturally plumper pout, the cinnamon is quite tingly and can help with that. It's a bit too tingly for my sensitive lips though, so I'll pass this onto John. He likes the green and orange packaging anyway.
The Verdict: I'm happy with the variety in this month's LoveLula Beauty Box. I'm super happy to be able to try some natural fragrances and I love a good hand cream. The lip balm didn't work well for me, but John will use it. I like knowing that every product from LoveLula is ingredient conscious and comes from brands that are environmentally and socially responsible. It is also very easy to look up the ingredients on the site. This box has a value of $81.52 plus free shipping which I think is a win for a cost of just under $25. Though being outside of the UK makes this box a little more costly for me, I think the curation of products rigorously vetted for their effectiveness, sustainability, quality, and policies against animal testing make it worth it.
