Graze 8 Snack Variety Box Review #2 + Free Box Coupon – January 2019

Graze is a mini-snack subscription box that sends a customized selection of treats weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Graze offers over 100 different snacks that you can rate online, which, over time, helps tailor your subscription to your particular snacking preferences. Some subscribers spend time choosing preferences, noting which options they want to try, think they would like, or “trash” and prefer not to receive. Each Graze box may look completely different!

For subscribers with food sensitivities, it’s easy to “trash” snacks that contain gluten, dairy, or any other specific ingredient; however, Graze snacks are produced in a facility with nuts, wheat, milk, and many other foods that might not make this subscription a good fit for anyone with severe food allergies.

Boxes are shipped via USPS and are conveniently designed to fit in most standard mailboxes.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the 8-Snack, $13.99 a month, box.

Our Review

The pamphlet in this month’s box has some general information about the nutritional benefits of the snacks in my box this month.

On the bottom are some coupon codes to hand out to people so when they subscribe they can get their first and 5th Graze box for free.

And on the back is all the nutritional information and ingredients of the snacks included in the box, you know, if you are into that sort of thing.

It also came with a Hello Fresh $60 gift card.

Cocoa and Vanilla Protein Flapjack, 1.9 oz. – Buy 6 packs for $8.99

The easiest way for me to consume oatmeal? Add cocoa, vanilla, and put it into yummy little bite-sized blocks! I may not always want to mess with the hot kind, but there are a lot of health benefits to rolled oats. This is the tastiest way to get them in my body with 8 g of protein!

Honeycomb Crunch, 1.5 oz. – Buy 6 packs for $8.99

Raisins and almonds and chocolate-covered honeycombs, OH MY! Holy COW these choco-covered honeycombs are delicious! But they are indeed very sweet, so the almonds balance them out and the raisins give you a little soft texture to offset all that CRUNCH you get.

Raspberry & Coconut Muffin, 0.99 oz. – Buy 6 packs for $8.99

I adore coconut and here they are joined by dried raspberry cranberries, almond slivers, and amaretto drops (those little cookie-lookin’ fellas). This is a delightful mix of sweet, sour, and crunchy. A real winning combo for anyone who loves the flavor of almond!

White Chocolate with Wild Blueberry Toasts, 0.88 oz. – Buy  6 packs for $8.99

These never last long in my presence. Those little bitty blueberry toasts are great on their own but once you dunk them into the white chocolate spread, it’s all over. They’re gone in the blink of an eye! It reminds me of one of my favorite Japanese snacks called Yan Yan in which you dip little cookie sticks into a similar sweet spread. So yummy!

Natural Vanilla Seeds, 1.1 oz. – Buy 6 packs for $8.99

On what seems to be the opposite end of the snack spectrum is this mix of pumpkin and sunflower seeds that have been coated in natural vanilla and sugar to give them a hint of sweetness. This is a great way to get the vitamins and minerals you want from the seeds but with a little bit of sugar to help them go down.

Punchy Protein Nuts, 1.4 oz. – Buy 6 packs for $8.99

Ok, so I don’t dislike sweets at all, but if forced to choose, I will probably always pick salty/savory over it. This mix is FANTASTIC and includes almonds, peanuts, and CHILI LIME CASHEWS which truly steal the show for me. They have a wonderful zip to them and the lime is tremendous! These are probably my favorite pack of the box. Plus, all these nuts have a stellar amount of protein (9 g for this one).

Sweet & Spicy Beet Crunch, 0.81 oz. – Buy 6 packs for $8.99

Dear Beets, I’m sorry, but I think you taste like dirt.

I thought the jalapeno chickpeas could save this mix for me, but the dang beets just dirtied them all up too. There are beet lovers out there who will probably like these, but I just cannot.

Billionaires Shortbread, 1.5 oz. – Buy 6 packs for $8.99

Okay, this one has A LOT going on. “We combined almonds for the base, vanilla fudge and Belgian milk chocolate for the caramel and chocolate topping, then added in cranberries for the wholesome graze twist”. As you can see, the almonds are naked, and there are some dried cranberries along with chocolate drops and tiny caramel cubes. This one is really decadent to say the least, but the almonds balance out the sweetness and the sour cranberries cut it a little bit too. I’m not obsessed with this one, but it’s nice if you have a sweet tooth but don’t want to reach for a candy bar.

Verdict: Graze was pretty great this time around. There were a fair amount of newcomers for me which is nice to see since I’ve reviewed this a handful of times in the past and won’t get bored with the same old thing. Portion control is paramount for me as I tend to go a little wild, and even as a single gal, sometimes I get sick of a huge bag of one kind of mix I may buy too much of in bulk at the Co-Op. The Punchy Protein Nuts were the clear winner for me this month and are tempting to order!

  1. I had this subscription about 5 years ago. I really liked it. I stopped because there was no nutritional info. I was on WW and didn’t know how to count it. But now,I see there is nutritional info! That makes me happy! I’m going to look into subscribing again. The snacks are delicious and different. Thanks for the great review!

  2. I would have eaten all of the this, yum!! I am even a beet lover. I even buy from a German online shop a beetroot & horseradish spread which lasts just days in my house.

  3. I purchase the different nuts packs at Trader Joes and wondered if these compare in size? My husband also says beets taste like dirt. My grandma says cilantro taste like soap and I love them both and brussel sprouts…like LOVE them all. 😋 Thanks for your great review again. Your food reviews are especially fun to read!

  4. Bahahahaha! I ordered the intro box last week and have the beet mix left…now all I will think about is dirt when I try it. Can’t wait for next weeks box!

  5. They’re called Flapjacks.. see my super long post.
And I see our first month we a free sampler of 4 box for $1 shipping.

  6. I used to subscribe to this box. It was several years ago before I knew about sub boxes. I LOVED it. Every time you got to rate the items you got so you wouldn’t get those dirty beets again!! They made me for real screech out loud!! That’s exactly how I’ve always described the taste of beets! I don’t like them (or brussel sprouts). I always liked the nutty ones and oh!!! I adore those little blueberry toasts you dip in that white chocolate. Good thing those are portioned! And those little squares (pan cakes??) that comes in lots of combinations –loves those..Idk if you’ve said it before but you can pick the intervals you get them, how many, and you do a questionnaire type thing where you put your likes and dislikes, allergies, or any issues. They make all of the snacks .I just really liked this business and would say that I wouldn’t think they’d changed.
Thanks Marne for your critique of this company. I have missed and may just resub soon because of it.
Do they have a referral to help you AND me of course!!??
I apologize also I am a bit longwinded and as my hubby says I cannot make a long story short! Haha. It’s the nurse in me i have to notate the details!!

  7. Ha ha, I agree with your sentiments about beets. I got this snack and haven’t tried it yet. Now I really don’t want to. Maybe I’ll trick my kids into eating it.
