Frank And Oak Style Plan for Men January 2019 Review
When you first sign up for this subscription, you fill out a style profile that captures your sizing preferences and your sense of style. (Choose from Casual, Classic, and Creative). You’ll also be able to set a budget for different types of clothing that could be included.
Before your box ships, you get an email inviting you to hop in and preview your order. The page that opens up shows you the items that have been selected for you. You can switch out the chosen items for others on this page if you desire. The plan includes three items, but you can choose more or less than three if you’d like. The prices are all discounted for you, so it’s a deal compared to just shopping the regular site.
The top three items marked with green checks are the original selections made for John. He logged on and found some different things he thought he'd like more so he updated them. I feel like his selections were limited this month because 1/3 of them were gift ideas that he wasn't interested in.
Here’s the invoice for the three pieces John ended up with, plus the return instructions. (If you didn’t know before, Frank And Oak is a Canadian company, which explains all the French you’ll see on their packaging and paperwork!)
Striped Jacquard Henley Tee in Navy with Yellow Retro Ski Stripes, L - Retail Price $49.50, Member Price $39.50
John likes these long sleeve tees because they are so versatile. He can wear them alone or layered under flannels or jackets without adding a bunch of bulk. The 100% cotton is soft and comfortable. The rich navy and subtle mustard yellow striping look great together.
The Jasper Oxford Shirt in Light Grey, L - Retail Price $69.50, Member Price $54.50
This shirt is so fun! From afar it looks like a nice patterned grey button-up. The Jasper cut fits John really well and is long enough to tuck it in. When you get closer, you can see that the pattern is actually little illustrations of coffee, fireplaces, logs, and other camping gear. I love that this shirt is so unique and fun while not being too over the top for John. This is now competing with his Jasper Oxford with wolves on it.
Here's a close-up shot of the illustrations.
The Lincoln 5-Pocket Twill Pant in Olive, 34x34 - Retail Price $59.50, Member Price $49.50
Here are the slacks John is wearing with the shirt above. Frank and Oak offers a few different pant fits for men and the Lincoln is their slim fit. John typically goes for their straight fit, The Newport, since he has muscular thighs. He loves the feel and color of these, but he thinks they're just a bit tight at the waist and butt. I actually like a slimmer fit on him though!
The Verdict: Since John started receiving Frank and Oak's style plan, his wardrobe has not only improved in style but also in fit and quality. He hardly ever wears any of his other clothes because he likes the fabrics, colors, and comfort factor of Frank and Oak. And, they work hard to be sustainable and environmentally friendly. He likes all of his picks this month but especially loves the camping oxford. The price vs. quality is great and we've had positive experiences with the Frank and Oak Customer Service when we have had questions.
To Wrap Up:
Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each box is customized based on your style plan. Under the $25 styling fee plan, boxes ship automatically on the 1st of the month, and you can log in 2 days before shipment to add or remove items or skip the month altogether. That said, you can still follow the product links above to shop these items for yourself from their site catalog!
Exclusive Deal: Use this link to get your first box with no styling fee!
Value Breakdown: The regular retail price of these three items is $178.50. Because John is a member, he got these items for a total of $143.50 which is about a 20% savings. Since he is keeping at least one item, the $25 styling fee was waived.
