BohoBabe January 2019 Review
BohoBabe provides an itemized list of products featured in your box, including a little blurb and a price for each product. January’s “New Beginnings Babe” box includes items to help you start anew with a clear mind, resetting you for the new year.
Create Your Own Vision Board – Listed Value $10
This set includes a few motivational cards to keep you going in order to reach your goals for the new year. If you visit this webpage, BohoBabe throws out a ton of ideas to help you get started.
Much like a Vicks Vapoinhaler, this plastic stick is meant to be sniffed to uplift your spirits and semi-clear your airways. This more natural approach is just as potent as Vicks without any questionable chemicals, just essential oils. This Energy blend of mostly peppermint really does pep me up and helps to encourage positive vibes.
Fire Agate Gemstone – Listed Value $10
Fire Agate is a stone that is sure to light up your spirit and guide you to be more decisive in unclear times. The earthy reds and oranges in this shiny gem emulate flames, perhaps flaming your passion, emotions and a drive to fulfill such desires. I love the unique diamond shape of this pick, and I think Fire Agate is an excellent stone to help start the new year with a growing sense of courage and positive energy.
Lotus Intention Bracelet – Listed Value $6
The lotus symbolizes new beginnings; this silver trinket with red string is a reminder to be hopeful in this year to come. I love this type of wish bracelet, being a somewhat superstitious and wishful person, I like to believe that, yes, “when this bracelet starts to fray, you will know your wish is on its way!”
SelfGoddess Crystal Infused Fresh AF Deodorant Spray – Retail Value $7.77 (found on sale here for $6.99)
Lavender and Clary Sage scent this deodorant spray, and it is potent. I shook it up well and doused my pits, and it held up for about an hour or so. I admit that I am a pretty active person, so only a few natural deodorants can keep up with me (Schmidt’s and Ursa Major are two I love), but this detox spray used as a pre-DO spray and midday refresher seems to work great!
How cute! Yasss Queen is a floral scent with notes of sea moss, water lotus and violet, and however macabre this may sound, it is so satisfying to watch these little bears melt in a blissful pool of fragrant wax. I added 3 gummies, and the scent permeated through my house for an hour or so before I felt like I needed to add another bear. Between the sweet packaging and cute little bears, this is such a great find for me.
Lous Ring – Listed Value $24
A quite romantic piece, this antique silver lotus bloom and bud ring is beautiful. The band is stiff but pliable enough to expand or tighten to fit. The size it came in is about a 7.5, but I think you could probably bend this to make a pretty cute midi ring, too. I love this pretty floral ring and will definitely be putting this into my ring rotation!
Lotus Hair Clip – $16
This textured gold lotus clip is another romantic find. It doesn’t hold a large piece of hair, but I think it is mostly for the look anyway and she is a beaut! She measures 2 inches, so if you’re looking for a statement hair clip, look no further!
The Smudge Stick Shop Californian White Sage Fire Lighters – Retail Value $15
The little bundle you see is made of wax, wood shavings, and white sage. I know that sage is burnt to cleanse, but I have never seen a firelighter like this and an accompanying shell. It is used to start fires, for ceremonial purposes or even barbeques, I know that much! BohoBabe recommended visiting this site in order to find out more, but unfortunately, that site is not up and running at this point.
The Verdict: BohoBabe is always packed with thoughtful and useful finds. I love the different themes every month, and I think it is so awesome that they mainly source their items from small businesses. The value of this box this month adds up to $102.99, which is pretty good for a $49.99 box. Opening my BohoBabe every month is always a pleasure, mostly because I never know what I am going to find, and it is usually a treat yo’self haven in there!
