Allure Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription from Allure Magazine. Each month they send out a mix of deluxe and full-size samples from mostly high-end brands.

This month they’ve changed the packaging. While I love those bright lacquered red boxes, this reusable vinyl bag is very practical for travel.

It snaps closed, and it’s pretty roomy, too!

Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil – 15 ml Retail Value $40

Sunday Riley is definitely the star of the show this month! For January, they are including 2 products that are launching first in Allure Beauty Box before they are even available for sale!

(This serum is listed as full size, and I received the retail info from Allure. FYI – Sunday Riley typically sells their oils in two sizes: 15 + 30 ml.)

I have yet to meet a Sunday Riley oil I didn’t love, and this is another winner for me so far! The formula is designed to brighten and hydrate your skin, and I can confirm a very dewy complexion after applying. My skin has been extra dry lately, so I’ve been using this and letting it absorb before applying makeup, and I’m very happy with the results.

Sunday Riley A+ High Dose Retinoid Serum – 8 ml Value Approximately $22.67

This serum has a 6.5% Retinoid blend and is designed to help reduce the appearance of dark spots, improve skin texture, even skin tone, reduce breakouts, and fight the signs of aging. Since retinol can be drying for skin, Allure recommends starting out only using this once or twice a week and layering it under the oil for extra hydration.

(I’ve been using this for a few days now, and while I can’t say I’ve noticed any differences in my skin yet, I am happy to report no irritation.)

Ouai Hair and Body Scrub – 30 ml Value $4.32

This is the first time I’ve seen this new Ouai scrub in a subscription box, and I’m thrilled! (Their standard haircare samples are somewhat common, but this is a new product release I’ve had my eye on!) And this scrub is multi-use, it works for your body or as a nice detox for your scalp to help remove excess product buildup.

This scrub works into a bit of a lather, and it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy (which is good since it doubles as a hair scrub.) I love that the classic OUAI scent lingers, too. (If you’re a fan of OUAI scents, I’m certain you will love this product, too.)

Mally Eyeshadow Stick in Burnished Bronze – Full Size! Retail Value $25

Back in the day (a few years ago in the subscription box world), Mally seemed to be everywhere in boxes and was a little overplayed. But I haven’t seen this brand in a while, so getting an eyeshadow stick from them was a nice bit of nostalgia! And this eyeshadow stick is probably my favorite item they make. If you find eyeshadow intimidating and don’t know where to start, this stick is perfect. It’s super easy to apply (just apply it directly to your lid, no need for a brush), then blend it out a bit with your finger.

This Burnished Bronze shade is gorgeous, highly pigmented, and so shimmery. And the best part of the formula? Once it sets, it stays put!

Doucce Relentless Matte Lip Crayon in Winterberry – Full Size! Retail Value $22

Another highly-pigmented stick! This lip crayon has a matte finish, and I was impressed by how long it lasts. It’s not transfer-proof, but it definitely is long-lasting, and it wears down nicely, too.

NCLA Nail Polish in Call My Agent – Full Size! Retail Value $16

This polish is a cool, bright red, high-shine creme. The coverage is great, too. I only needed one coat:

Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask – Full Size! Retail Value $12

(FYI – subscribers will either receive this mask or a Beautyblender Micro.Mini Set.)

I’ve sampled this mask before, and it’s great. It’s free of parabens, sulfates, and artificial colors, and it is safe for color treated hair! I love a hair mask that you only have to leave in for a few minutes, and I could tell a difference in the softness in my hair after using this just once!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $142! I think that’s an amazing value for a $15 beauty box! This may be my favorite Allure Beauty Box ever – it’s worth the $15 alone just for the Sunday Riley products, but all the other items in the box are winners for me, too. If you are thinking about subscribing, I definitely recommend signing up before the end of the month so you can start with this box.

  1. I have been loving Allure BUT as many mentioned below there have been shipping issues. I used to get my box the first week of the month. The last 3 months it has been the last week of the month. This month I just got the shipping notice so I probably won’t get it until February which is disheartening.
    Is Allure going to go down like so many other boxes? Shipping delays seem to be the first sign…..

      • Allure is having a slow month this january it seems. I contacted them about one issue and asked about why the delays (especially since I usually get my box within the first 2 weeks of the month). They seem to be having some difficulty with some of their items (nail Polish for one) so they are shipping a bit later than usual. Give it a little time, it will get there…

    • Allure might be one of my favorite boxes content wise but is among the worst customer service/shipping wise.

      I received a smashed Juvia’s Place palette in my December box and sent them a photo, it took them over three weeks to even reply, and then they said it could take another 3 weeks+ for a replacement to arrive and they won’t provide any tracking. Birchbox would have replied within a week (likely sooner) and you’d receive a tracking notice before you would even have a chance to read their reply. I mention BB because their profit margin is so slim yet they manage to keep it together.

      • I would contact your mail carrier office if things are getting smashed. It is nice of Allure to replace, but your post office should be made aware. That is obviously a mail delivery issue.

    • I had that thought too. Glad I got out of Beauty Box 5 before they went under so dirty.

    • They’ve always had shopping delay issues. The best thing is to use your Amazon account to manage the subscription. Amazon has it pretty together for getting your stuff in a timely manner and with tracking info ASAP.

    • Did anyone else notice that there were micro Beauty Blenders listed in the book, and in SA’s spoilers, but they weren’t reviewed..?? Does that mean they aren’t coming in this box..?

      • You got the micro blenders OR the hair mask. MSA received the mask, I much to my dismay got the micro blenders.

      • Same. I would’ve enjoyed the hair mask. I couldn’t give less of a f*** about these beauty blender nubbins. Also, my stupid plastic pouch came already torn wide open along the seam on one side, so that’s some quality right there.

        Really wish they’d not do variants, or at least ensure that long-time subs got the higher value items or one tailored to their interests. And really miss the old boxes. I’d keep them to use as small drawer organizers. The new ones look like anonymous DVD shippers.

      • The mask and the blenders are variants. Which one gets reviewed is whichever one she gets in her box.

  2. I was actually involved in a skincare product trial from Nov. – Jan. And it turns out that I was testing the A+ Serum and I have been very happy with the results. Seemed to help with my acne and dark spots as well as fine lines. So much better than an oil for oily skin. My favorite Sunday Riley product so far. Didn’t irritate my skin with the high dose of Retinol. I really look forward to getting more of it.

    • How can I be involved in a skincare product trial? I would like to join, too!

    • Yes I would like to know how we find out about the trials as well.

  3. Allure, please bring back the red boxes!! At least those can re re-used forever. These cheap plastic pouches are disposable and terrible for the environment!

    • Agree! I actually prefer the other boxes. They’re so sturdy, I would keep them. These new bags look cheap

    • Right! And it looks like it is still inside a cardboard shipping box? …so there is still more packaging waste. :/

    • Agree. I would love for Allure to find packaging that is more environmentally friendly.

      • Thank you!!!!!! the new box is recyclable and I won’t be tempted to pile up boxes I will really never use. Glad they got ride of the red box.

    • That was exactly my comment when Allure sent out a survey on the proposed packaging change several months ago. I have zero use for 12 cheap plastic pouches/year. Is there any indication they are recyclable? If not, I’ll be canceling, which is a shame, because I do like the contents of the Allure boxes.

      • Can’t they just send it in the smaller box without the bag? I wish PLAY would too. Stop sending makeup bags!!! So much waste. No one needs so many bags!!

      • Exactly! That’s exactly what my response was. I thought about resubbing to Play by Sephora for my daughter but they switched to plastic ziplock bags. At least I could use the fabric bags. I still love ipsy. I do keep and use their bags. That’s why it’s called ipsy Glambag. Allure doesn’t need these cheap bags.

    • Not only is it a waste, but my bag arrived already torn, and thus unusable. Not that I would have kept it anyway – I get enough bags from Ipsy, and those are of much higher quality.

      • Mine ripped too. I was so irritated that they switched to these plastic pouches. Allure sent out a survey asking if I would like a reusable bag instead of a box and I said no. They still ship in a box, and now there’s this plastic junk too. It’s really wasteful and it’s disappointing that Allure would not consider the environmental impacts of their box.

      • Mine too! Kind of annoying that the booklet presented it as this cute clutch alternative to use at work or in a large handbag when the plastic is so thin and brittle it rips to shreds before the customer even sees it! And I do use tons of small pouches to organize supplies at work, and would have used this one too.

      • Out of the five boxes I received three of them were already completely split on one side. I just threw them all away and it was such a waste. Allure: Please get rid of the cheap plastic bags no one can actually use. Just add a small item that is branded. My Bolzano bag this month had a branded pop socket for the back of my phone which was inexpensive but awesome (and useful!) and great advertising for them.

      • Mine was completely ripped on the seam and missing the hair mask or the beauty blenders. I called CS and they resent it and this time it came with the hair mask it the bag was ripped completely on both sides, on the seams. So I agree, if they are going to use bags, they should at least arrive in tact. I mean I have seen cheap products break or come apart the first time you use them, but to actually have them arrive not with a small tear but completely ripped apart on both sides is beyond unacceptable. It’s garbage then and would rather not have a bag at all if it’s like that.

    • Ugh, I agree. I loved the red box! My first thought when I saw that bag was that it was not environmentally friendly…and then mine was ripped.

      • Mine came pre-ripped. So now I have a single-use disposable plastic item that probably can’t even be recycled properly due to the snaps. What a waste.

        Bring back the red boxes!! At least those were re-purposable. I’d wrap small gifts in them, or use them as drawer organizers for my junk drawers.

      • Put it back in the box, tape it shut and write ‘Return To Sender’ on it. After enough of us do that, maybe they’ll change for the better??? Don’t really care about the box. I just don’t want that cheap plastic bag every month. Sephora went to that. Macy’s does a bag and then there’s the original ipsy.

      • They told me to do that when I canceled in December… still waiting on my $15 refund. I’ll be disputing the charge with my credit card company.

      • Got mine yesterday and also pulled bag out of box, completely torn open on the sides everything fell out all over the place lol, I was a bit irked about that because products could break or get damaged, my lesson learned from now on I’m opening subs less trustingly on top of a table lol (I could of totally had use for the bag, now trash also)

      • Me….three? Ten? ONE THOUSAND? The products spilled out everywhere when I lifted it out of the cheap-o box. I’m lucky they didn’t shatter on my concrete floor.

        Allure, if anyone on your sub box team reads here….listen to the feedback! No more stupid plastic bag. I preferred the red box packaging and paper filler. All of which were more easily recycled or reused.

    • I may be wrong but I think the plastic is recyclable. Check the bottom for a recycle triangle with a number in it.

      • Same… both sides torn all the way down. Does anyone know the reason for changing? Isn’t called a beauty “box”😜. Just saying. Plus… it is so much additional waste. I’d rather forgo a bag and just focus on the best products possible!

      • My guess is that it is quite costly to produce the laminated cardboard boxes. I guess they thought they were doing the right thing by tossing in a plastic bag. After reading this feed, that idea sure did backfire on them. My suggestion is to have everyone who received a torn bag just throw it in the recyclables and not dwell on it. It is wrong to call Allure for a replacement box because of a defective, crappy plastic bag. Not cool people. The contents of this box are worth a lot more than the $15 cost.

      • I agree. I would not sell my soul for a replacement box due to a plastic bag. I got $20 extra back from the drive thru tell a few days ago. When I got home I called to rectify it immediately. I have a conscience and hopefully a good soul.

    • I’m sure they reason they changed is cost above all else. Be it the actual materials in the box along with shipping. I actually kind of like the pouch and it’s easier for me to give it away OR throw it away) instead of keeping it around the house. I have so many blasted boxes (between myu old Birchbox’s and Allure) that this seems so much more compact.

  5. I also received my shipping notice from Allure last night. The Allure box that I order from Amazon came earlier this month which happens every month. I love the new packaging; I’m using the bag as a pencil case at work.

    • Same – I received my Amazon box yesterday, despite waiting until the 16th to subscribe. Meanwhile, I just received a shipping notice from Allure TODAY.

  6. My bag JUST shipped! It won’t even get here until february! Not Happy about it! I have been subbed since 2016 so I should not be the last person to receive their box!

    • I just got my shipping notice too, and I’ve been subbed off and on for a couple years now. I really don’t see what the big fuss is about. They had to wait for a product to come in…the box is still coming. I ordered one through amazon as well, on the 3rd, and even that one took a couple weeks to arrive. If you’re worried about the box coming on time, I’d suggest subbing through amazon, and ordering as soon as the box becomes available, and since it’s a recurring payment on the same date as your ordered, you’ll always be one of the first to get it. ezpz

  7. I haven’t heard anything from Allure yet. I’m thinking about calling them today. It’s sad because I just renewed another four months. But it seems they have really been struggling to get these boxes out. I’m upset because if you order it on Amazon you are able to get it, (minus the nail polish which I am not that concerned with), but everyone that has a subscription through Allure it seems like we are getting left in the dust.

    • I just got my bag through Amazon today. It did have the nail polish. Beautiful Pink one.

  10. Did everyone who orders through Amazon get this same box? I had months where I got really old boxes so I wanna make sure it’s the same before I order through there.

    • I ordered through Amazon and received the January box minus the nail polish (which is fine by me, I’d never use it.)

      • I ordered through Amazon and just got my nail polish separately about a week after I received my regular box. So it should be coming for all of the Amazon subscribers.

  11. Got my tracking number today although I never worry over these things. All companies have an issue now and then about something. It’s bound to happen so I’m always just chill. Technically the box is not late. I live in CO and always get my box towards the end of the month. Personally, I think the email response time being so slow was caused by so many people freaking out and sending a dozen emails. The system simply became overloaded. Try a little forgiveness. After all, they are human just like us and stuff happens. I can’t waste my time on negativity anymore. I don’t have much time left I’m told so I can’t afford to sweat the small $10 to $15 dollar stuff. Besides, I don’t believe Allure intended to cheat people out of the beloved Sunday Riley. They underestimated what they needed to fulfill orders. This is all my opinion only. Love it, hate it or scroll past it. I love you Allure! Peace out.

    • Missann I totally agree. People need to chill out. It’s a $10-$15 sub. We get such a great value and awesome products. I never worry with them because they always come through. I think everybody just needs to realize this is not a third world problem and Allure isn’t trying to defraud anyone. I hope whatever time you have left is filled with complete happiness and love!!! I love your attitude and you will be blessed because you have a great outlook. Sending you lots of hugs from Utah!!!

      • Lots of bad weather probably didn’t help them get their products for the box or products out to us. Items coming still tho so really not a big deal – too many other bigger issues swirling in our little world that really do need our attention. Just saying ….

    • Its always funny when someone is negative by telling others not to be negative lol.
      Consumers should always complain. We are paying for a service and the only way the company knows we aren’t satisfied is by letting them know. Standing up for yourself isn’t being negative it’s setting boundaries.
      I came here to decide if I would subscribe to Allure. I’m extremely happy with Macy and ipsy. Macys gives a $5 or $10 gift card in each bag plus free shipping on beauty purchases. I’ll probably pass on allure. I don’t need a stack of boxes or cheap useless plastic bags. I still have a stack of pretty Birchbox boxes I can’t seem to recycle . they are too cute but useless.
      What I like about ipsy and Macys is the cute bags. If I don’t like a bag or some of the items they all go in a box , once the box is full I take it to a local women’s shelter.

      • Great assortment of products but my bag was ripped open as well and I didn’t receive the Mally eyeshadow. I’d much prefer the old packaging, which was completely recyclable.

  15. I LOVE Allure boxes! It’s absolutely become my favorite box out of the many I subscribe to. It comes last every month compared to the others (got mine today) but honestly it could come on the last day of each month & I would not care. Worth the wait for the value.

  16. ***UPDATE*** As Of Like An Hr Of Posting A Comment Here I Just Got A Shipped Email From Allure!

    On Another Note Its So Sad that u Can’t comment what ur feeling about ur own experiences with a brand, bc ppl come on here and start picking at u like ur crazy! It’s so funny bc I’m sure at some point those same ppl have issues with brands an speak on it! I rarely say anything about anything period and when I do its bc I feel like I have no choice as we all do sometimes here or there at some point! I’ve raved about allure I love allure, i jump on allure when everyone else was saying problems problems problems! I’ve never had an issue with getting a box and I’m very patient as I’ve been a subscriber about a yr and know the game when it comes to allure shipping! I wasnt concerned at all until they sent me 2 crazy emails and then heard nothing! I’m basing my feelings on my experience I’m not mad or anything at allure matter of fact I still love them period and will post my box as usual! I do have the right to speak out an say there must be a problem, I hope not but it seems so when ppl r sayin they haven’t gotten their December or Jan boxes alot of ppl! I am very smart an know exactly how shipping works and how brands have many ways of shipping I have several other sub boxes an been getting all of them for at least 2 yrs in on every step of the way! I posted my comment saying seems to be a problem bc they sent me 2 emails that made no sense, plus how many days it takes to get here usually from any date shipped! Thanks for sharing ur review MSA and Allure u have one of the best boxes out there I’ve always said! It’s a shame I feel like I have to defend myself for saying there my be a problem with this months box! I’ll come back and update this post when my box gets here!

  17. The Sunday Riley smells rancid is that normal?

    • Both my products smell fine. But the ceo glow is made of orange and tumeric so there’s a funk there!

      • Yes, the turmeric is probably the cause of the smell; it is a spice after all. It is great for inflammation though and it will simmer down after a short time I’ll bet.

    • It’s a brand new product, hasn’t been released yet. Their products tend to have kind of weird odors in general, but I don’t mind them, I might be in the minority in liking the Luna oil smell but good genes is godawful but I love it. I’d say it’s be really unlikely for it to be rancid, you never know, but it would be the same batch as numerous other people of a new product…you’re likely just not a fan of the smell I hope? Maybe post the batch number if you can find it for people to reference and share their verdict here? Hope anything there’s helped xD

      • I agree about Sunday Riley scents. I have grown to like the Luna scent, but the Good Gene’s is an unpleasant smell. When you layer it over the Luna, it mellows out. In any case, I love both of those products and I am so excited to try these new ones! I received shipping notification finally. Yay!

    • Everything I’ve ever tried by Sunday Riley smells like rotting garbage, so… probably.

      • I tried that Martian Toner crap….it smelled like buttons… I couldn’t stand it. Garbage!!

    • Which one? I bought the full size of A+ and it doesn’t have any rancid smell. I have all of her products, actually, and the only one with a sort of funky smell is Good Genes. The Space Race Set has a bit of a smell, too, but that’s due to the acne actives in it, but it’s not a rancid smell. The Juno smells a little like pizza topping, haha. The only product that I don’t have is Glow, and I haven’t received my box yet, so if that’s what is smelling rancid, that would be helpful for others to speak up and let others know. I’d certainly like to know what to expect.

    • The CEO Glow doesn’t smell rancid to me, but it does smell very earthy…kinda reminds me of cannabis. I’m assuming it’s the turmeric.

      • It is, turmeric is a spice.

    • Oh my goodness! I thought the same thing! I was wondering if anyone else noticed an off smell with their oil.

    • Mine is fine.

    • I know good skincare usually doesn’t have a good smell. A lot of companies add fragrance to mask it, which can be irritating to some skin. It could be the turmeric in it.

    1) it’s not the end of the month, if there’s a delay in shipping, it’s a snag with the company supplying something. It sounds like they’re getting shipped in batches as they receive more polish which…

    2) the polish was an extra anyway…people who bought through amazon are getting it also, it’ll come.

    3) I agree the bag is useless too. But I’m going to assume they probably switched their old box up to give us to fit differently sized products. After a year of subbing to them I didn’t need any more boxes that shape and size for sure, even with organizing my stash. If you don’t like the bag, toss it, a bag was never part of the value of the box and this month’s selection is pretty stellar IMO.

    The one thing I find to be an actual ISSUE and not just an inconvenience is the people who were marketed something to sign up and didn’t receive it. They likely way outsold the initial SR sign-up bonus and that’s on them, unless they worked fine print in somewhere for a “while supplies last/substitutions may apply” scenario, which I don’t think they did.

I think someone said that CS said they were shipping in waves and it sounds like the delay is with NCLA providing them the amount of polish they needed after advertising it, or possibly that they sold more than expected and that’s why they need more NCLA stock. Personally, I think it was probably NCLA’s end and they advertised it? Sounds plausible?

      I was supposed to get the SR CEO after I rodered and after 2 months of calling and getting various responses like 1) it shipped or 2) its about to ship finally they admitted they ran out and its not coming. With that said they offered something else that still hasnt come although they said they shipped this substitute back on Jan10th.
      Anyway – I finally got what I thought was my long awaited January Box and it was a freaking December box again!! Which was the worst one yet. I’m told my reship of the Dec box was a mistake and my Jan box is on the way but I havent gotten a tracking email so who really knows… Its pretty disappointing.
      With that said, customer service is always nice and apologetic, but as a company they need to get it together when it comes to delivering what is promised and/or paid for.

  22. I received 2 boxes from Amazon. One early without polish. One yesterday with polish. Both had torn red bags. They’re too good for trash, but not good enough to function as intended. I like the products! Some of the older Sunday Riley had objectionable scent. These new products are closer to fragrance free. I’m building up as the directions recommend. It’s so much fun trying new products!!

    • I may add some cute Duck tape skulls or something V day related maybe to the sides and bottom and use it for tampons or other item storage.

      One of mine is broken and on isn’t but I’d rather secure the sides if I reuse them.

      • They’re sending the polish to the people that didn’t receive it in their boxes. You’ll get a package with it from Allure, it can take a while to get replacement for left out products but they do send them.

      • They do? Don’t hold your breath! You’ll die waiting! I have been subscribed for 2 years. I have had products damaged. I’ve emailed and called but never once did I ever receive any replacements. I did get 1 month refunded and was sent a single pan of pink doucce eyeshadow that was out of the compact, no cover on it and it had been swatched. I did put return to sender in that package and never got the refund for that month that I was promised. I was also promised a Best Of Beauty Box? for the inconvenience blah blah blah… I didn’t ask for it, it was offered but it’s been 6 months and I never saw that either! I’m definitely asking for a refund for this month.

      • I ordered thru amazon and received my polish in its own package today, so it should come soon! Mine came from One Stop Mailing ,Glendale Heights, IL in USPS (same as regular box).

  24. Wow, when is this shipping?, I’m still waiting for mine. Probably the best box they’ve put out in close to a year and almost no one’s received it yet. I ordered one through Amazon because Iwanted doubles of the sunday riley and i got it a few days ago but the nail polish is missing and the bag was busted open at the seams. Anyone know who to contact if you get it through amazon?

    • You contact Amazon customer service, like you would for aby other Amazon purchase. They will deal with Allure themselves. Main reason I switch from direct sub to A and I’m so happy I did.

      • Same. It’s worth the extra $5 to just be able to cancel via amazon vs. having to call and cancel. I’m not phone-shy either, I just got other stuff to do.

    • The nail polish was missing from the first batch of boxes sent through Amazon, they’re sending it. I ordered multiple boxes and don’t really need more of the polish, it wasn’t what I ordered the box for and it just adds more to my loads of products.

  25. You totally get the nail polish through Amazon as,well. Amazon just chose not to make people wait like Allure did. The boxes are late through Allure because they had to wait for nail polish. Those who sub through Amazon who didn’t get it will be mailed separately. Anyway I sub through Amazon I got my box Tuesday and my nail polish was included.

    • I got my tracking number 5 days ago but it still says awaiting item, so I still have no date for when my box will arrive, a,d I have,t gotten a tracking number on the two gift subs I ordered. I love Allure, its one of my favorite boxes but I’m very frustrated this month with shipping.

      • Mine’s still in that awaiting shipment too. And I got it 5 days ago. Usually gifts ship in the box if they can fit.

      • It’s not that it hasn’t shipped USPS just gets the box for the last leg Iof shipping. When it transfers to a regional USPS site the tracking will update.

  32. I received my box finally today. I also got the hair mask. My red plastic pouch was broken on one side, looks like it cracked. I think the cheap plastic isn’t tough enough for the Arctic temperatures we have been getting here where I live. I love this box and it’s worth the wait. The new oil has a similar, but lighter, scent like the Luna oil. I will use it all. Hope everyone gets their box soon.

    • Got mine ripped wide open. I have no doubt it was ps Jed that way. They didn’t care. Now I see it’s a trend. Not acceptable. I can’t use the ripped open pouch. They could have put the pouch in flat and UNDAMAGED, and placed the items on top. I’ve subbed Allure for years. Not cool. And I tried to contact them online- their site keeps kicking out my member #.

      • But the bag was packaging and not really an item in the box? Idk how I feel about some people asking for new boxes over the packaging, I don’t think Allure is going to be in financial issues over it or anything, but it’s kinda idk lousy I guess? It was advertised as a product product if that makes sense? Not saying anything specifically to you in particular but just seemed to appear a few times on here.

        But if my bag came ripped or in useless shape, I’ll let them know that they should change the material of their bag or the way they pack them.
        As another lady mentioned above, not put all products in a bag but put the bag either underneath or on top of all items.

        We all know Red Box or Red plastic bag are not what we paid for but still not feel comfortable to see something broken in my package so.

  33. Interesting, the box I subscribed to through Amazon beginning of January was shipped almost right away.

    The box I am subscribed to from Allure themselves has yet to ship, and it’s already the 24th.

    I am guessing Amazon just demands a set number of their boxes upfront every month so that they don’t have to deal with Allure’s logistics snafus.

  34. I received my box yesterday, love everything in it, great month allure!! Only thing I was disappointed was the nail polish is pink and unfortunately I can’t wear pink would’ve loved the red one, but great box!!

    • In their unboxing video, the nail polish was a deep hot pink shade. Ugh.

I really don’t understand?! people we still have a whole nother week week in half til we should receive our box. according to the better business bureau we have 30 days to receive an item since payment. I mean seriously since the December box they have received a huge spike more of customers. So really they still have time to send your box out! and according to emails and their site they send out boxes the 3rd week of the month which technically is this week just to ship out not to receive like come on your paying $15 for an almost $200 box have some patience!!! I swear people want to complain just to complain! And the whole email stuff that went out it was a mistake! i mean come on Hawaii had a nuclear bomb warning go off and y’all are complaining about an email that went out by accident! Give it some time. They have thousands and thousands of subscribers we all cant get our boxes we want them!

I love the boxes Allure sends and have yet to have an issue with their C.S. so they can continue to take my money 🙂 It’s such an awesome value and I love that the sample sizes aren’t super duper dinky like Play or Birchbox

Everyone wants everything now…no patience. The crazy complaining about a couple of emails that almost sent them to the hospital for anxiety attacks is really laughable. Come on people show some appreciation for these companies that bring us these beauty boxes for cheap with such amazing products. We truly are lucky that we can subscribe and get these products. I would’ve loved to have been able to get these in my 30’s but I’m so grateful I can in my 40’s. Lighten up ppl…you will feel so much better. Gratitude goes along way.

      • I agree and disagree. Just because something is cheap/great deal doesn’t mean you throw customer service out the window. They made a huge mess with the Sunday riley promotion in November that brought in a lot of new customers, now this awesome 👏🏼 box is delayed. Many are left wondering if they will even get it. I find boxes are a fabulous way of trying new products. Just because they are cheap doesn’t mean expectations are low. All allure had to do was communicate and I would bet the complaints would be minimal. A simple email in November and an email this month explaining the delays would have gone a long way. Not to mention those that called that were told incorrect information, this doesn’t give them a stellar reputation.

      • Melissa, I totally agree with you. CS shouldn’t go out the window just bc it’s a great deal. And yes a simple email explaining the issues they’ve experienced would have gone a long way. Still my second favorite box (gbp is my favorite) bc the products are amazing, but I’m getting more and more frustrated with the lack of communication. It’s a product we have paid for.

  40. There seems to be some kinda problem this month with getting ur box! I’ve been a member of allure signed up thru here with allure themselves. I’ve never ever had a problem I usually get a shipping email like from the 12th to the latest the 16th once I got it on the 22nd, but only once. Anyways I received an email last wk that was odd where the thumbnail said I was getting a refund an a free box, but inside said oops there was a problem u will get ur shipping email next wk. The very next day I got another email saying the email b4 was a mistake that I would get an email next wk with shipping. Well its next wk an no email at all and I have informed delivery so I can see it has shipped b4 then anyway, it hasn’t. Today is Thursday if I don’t get an email 2nite or 2mrw I most likely won’t get it b4 the end of January, bc I know how long it takes to move thru to get to me bc how they ship it. I really hope I get the January box bc I’ve been a customer about a yr for 1 and 2 they’re still selling it like there’s no problem even as I type now! I post my box to my IG and other social media pages every month bc it’s one of my fave boxes for what u get an the deal it is! I would hate to be disappointed now!

    • o and if you havent figured it out by now you need to call them and not email them. their customer service is actually really good. Google the phone number, pick up a phone and call them if you want to know anything about your subscription or box.

      • Yes, customer service through Allure is difficult to say the least. I tried once to reach someone and finally gave up. I canceled my subscription through them and resubscribed through Amazon. Customer service amazing compared to my prior experience;)

  43. I’ve been offered a special deal from Allure twice in a row now: four months for $10 a month. Last summer I had to quit for financial reasons. They asked if I’d like to stay and get the next four months for $!0 each, so I said yes.

    A couple days ago, after six months, I cancelled again, partly for financial reasons but also because of the fulfillment and CS problems they’ve been having. And I got the same four months $10 each offer. Not sure yet that I’m going to take it, but I’m tempted. $10 seems like a lot less money than $15, somehow. And it IS one third less, which is a lot!

    • Mine hasn’t yet but I called their 800 number today and they said they were waiting on more of the nail polishes to come in and started shipping more boxes today. Mine supposedly was shipped this morning and they’re sending tracking numbers tomorrow.
