Our Review

Sigma Beauty Mystery Box December 2018 info

The box comes with an info card that lists details of every item included.

Sigma Beauty Aura Powder Blush, in Lady Slipper - Retail Value $19 (currently on sale for $13.30)

This blush has a lot of product! I also love that there's a nice, big mirror in the lid. The color is a light, cool pink, which I actually like more than I thought I would once I tried it on. I did find the formula to be a little powdery with some fall out, but all in all, this is a pretty good blush.

Sigma Beauty Mystery Box December 2018 brush

Sigma Beauty F15 Duo Fibre Powder/Blush Brush - Retail Value $28 (currently on sale for $22.40)

Sigma brushes are some of the best out there, and I'm glad they included one in this mystery box (this brush was the one product they showed and the rest of the products were a mystery). This brush picks up just the right amount of pigment and diffuses it perfectly for a nice, natural, well-blended blush application.

Sigma Beauty Loose Shimmer in Lush - Retail Value $12 (currently on sale for $8.40)

This loose shimmer is meant to be versatile and used on eyes, lips, face, body, and even nails and hair, their website says. I prefer to use this particular shade as an eyeshadow, but they have lots of colors, too. This color is an orange-y coral with some pink shimmer in it. I like the way it looks on lids, and you can get an even bolder application by applying with a damp brush. (You can see swatches and this on my face at the end of the review)

Sigma Beauty Mystery Box December 2018 brow pencil

Sigma Beauty Dual-Ended Brow Pencil - Retail Value: $12 (currently on sale for $8.40)

One end of this brow pencil is "dark" and the other is "medium." The Medium works well for me, but I won't be able to use the dark half. I actually like that you use a sharpener to get to more product for this brow pencil because I've used a lot of retractable brow pencils and they just get dull and hard to use precisely. Or, they're such a small diameter of product in the retractable pencil that it runs out quickly. I'm happy with the performance of this product and will I wish there were a "light and medium" pencil, but this is the only color option I see on their website.

Sigma Beauty Mystery Box December 2018 lip pencil

Lip Base in Magnetism - Retail Value $12 (currently on sale for $8.40)

This lip liner can be worn alone for a matte finish or layered under a gloss or lipstick. I like the formula; I found that it applies well and does emphasize dry patches. It's also pretty transfer-proof on its own and wore for quite a long time.

Sigma Beauty Mystery Box December 2018 blush cleanser

Sigma SigMagic Brush Shampoo, .25 fl oz - Estimated Value $0.74 (Buy a 5.1 oz. Full Size Bottle for $15)

I've tried this product before and I'm a fan. It works very quickly and leaves my brushes feeling very clean and soft.  I like that it has coconut oil in it, too.

Here are the products swatched: blush, loose shimmer, brow pencil (medium), brow pencil (dark), lip base.

Here's everything applied. I like the color of the blush more than I thought I would!  The loose shadow shimmer is also very pretty. The lip base is just very orange on its own, but layering under a pink-tinted gloss or sheer lipstick allows for versatility and customization. I love the finish the lip base has on its own, though.

The Verdict: This was a fun Sigma Mystery box! I'm happy with the quality of everything included, and I love that the brush alone is worth almost the whole cost of the box. The total retail value adds up to $83.74, but with holiday sales going on at the time of publication, the sale prices add up to $60.44 which is still twice the Mystery Box cost. I'm happy with that!

To Wrap Up:

Can You get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, both the Premium and the Deluxe Mystery Boxes are still available!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $30 plus $5.95 shipping (but you can get free shipping on orders over $50). Using the total cost of $35.95, here is what you are paying approximately  per item:

  • Blush: $8.15
  • Brush: $12.02
  • Loose Shimmer: $5.15
  • Brow Pencil: $5.15
  • Lip Liner: $5.15
  • Brush Cleanser Sample: $0.32
