ShaggySwag delivers high quality, one-of-a-kind dog treats, toys, and other essential items in a curated monthly box. They have newly released a second box, ShaggyStyle, to set pups up with rad garments to rock. Their mission is to provide cool dog owners across the U.S. with a monthly delivery filled with top-of-the-line essentials, nutritious treats, exclusive toys, and dog swag inspired by the hip pets and humans of NYC.

ShaggySwag box types are determined based on the size of your pup. My Airedale/Lab mix, Del, weighs in at 55 pounds, which landed him in the Beastmode Shaggy large breed classification. The other options are Tiny Shaggy (dogs up to 10 pounds), Small Shaggy (dogs from 10-25 pounds), and Just Shaggy (dogs from 25-50 pounds).

This is a review of the Beastmode Shaggy Style, $30 a month, box, with an $8 extra toy add-on.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

ShaggyStyle December 2018 Review

Back in September, ShaggySwag gave a little shout-out to the upcoming release of the ShaggyStyle box option and I'm so excited to be reviewing it today! I want to note that I use "ShaggySwag" and "ShaggyStyle" interchangeably throughout this review, and both are linked to the same URL. That's because you sign up for both starting from the same place, then make your specific selection through the sign-up process.

FabDog Dog Navy Fair Isle Sweater – Retail Value $45.00

To start is an indeed quite stylish navy blue sweater with a cream and red fair isle print. Plus, moose! And a pine tree! Can I wear this sweater? The fabric is nice and thick, and I love that there's a little hole for a leash to attach to your dog's collar.

This sweater marked Del's first clothes-wearing experience. I've been dressing a squirmy baby for the past four months and was amazed at how much easier it is to dress a dog, haha! He was very open to this opportunity, and my how becoming he looks in a turtleneck.

Del got cozy in his new sweater right away. He's a real couch hog, and since the weather has been rainy lately, we've been keeping his bed on the couch so he doesn't get it dirty. So toasty! Side note: Del has a tendency to dig in our backyard and come in pretty filthy, so I might not have him wear this sweater day-to-day, but it's perfect for chilly-weather walks and camping trips.

Pawmiscuous Grinch Don't Kill My Vibe Dog Shirt, size 2XL –Retail Value $10.00

I also received this lighter-weight raglan tee in my December box. It's size 2XL, and Del is rather slim, so I wasn't sure what to expect as far as fit goes.

Turns out it fit perfectly! This shirt is very stretchy so it fits closely, but I can also see it fitting a larger dog, as well.

The screen print on the back is hard to read because the shirt was kind of wrinkly on him, but that doesn't make it any less festive!

SodaPup Holiday Ornament Treat Dispenser Chew Toy – Retail Value $19.99

It took me a second to figure out how or why this toy is holiday themed—then I noticed it's in the shape of an ornament! It's a treat-stuffer toy but our go-to for these types of toys is peanut butter. I like that the ridges along the bottom opening make it more of a challenge to get to the good stuff.

Petlou Holiday Plush Flamingo Dog Toy — Retail Value $22.99 (found here for $9.99)

This is a fun toy! It both squeaks and has crinkly wings. My first thought was, "this would make a great baby toy!" but of course, there's a note on the back of the tag that says not for kids. Del freaked out over this one—squeaky toys are his jam and he has been told "no" a lot lately with baby toys that are pretty indistinguishable from his own toys, so he was excited to go to town on this flamingo.

LEELA RYAN Tartes Aux Pommes Dog Biscuits, 8 oz – Retail Value $10.00

These are about as healthy as a dog biscuit can get with no corn, wheat, chemicals, or preservatives. They're also organic and made in the USA. Boutique treats through and through!

I've said many times that Del isn't much of a biscuit guy...not in the sense that he won't take them, he just usually takes them over to a rug and crumbles them up and leaves big chunks and crumbs behind. But for some reason, he could barely contain himself enough to stay sitting for these treats! You can see from the dirty paw prints on the floor how all over the place he was before finally taking a seat. No crumbs were left behind with these treats!

Verdict: My first ShaggyStyle box was so much fun! Del's wardrobe went from zero to double stylish today, and while the raglan tee came just in time for Christmas, the sweater will be able to be enjoyed all winter long. The toys this month are already well-loved and the treats were a hit. I'd say we scored big this month! As many of you know, ShaggySwag supports Badass Brooklyn Animal Shelters. I love that about this box!

This month's ShaggySwag box contents added up to $107.98, which doesn't surprise me since this box included a healthy mix of high-quality items. That's an insanely good deal for a $38.00 per month (remember, mine is the $30/month box plus an $8 add-on) + free shipping box cost.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign-up today? No. If you order today, you'll receive the January box. From ShaggySwag:

We will ship your first box within 7-10 business days of placing your order. For every month after that, you can expect delivery of your box within the last week of the month.

Coupon – Use code SHAGGYMSA to get your first box for $20!

Value Breakdown: At $38.00 for this box, you are paying approximately $7.60 each for the 5 included items.

Thank you!!

Del is super cute. The tees always seem to bunch up so they are hard to see the designs. Or they do on my girls.

Great review. Seems like a nice box. I have basset and they are hard to fit so I’m weary of that aspect but it’s what makes it different from what’s out there now.

Good to know that this is the norm with tees. Thanks for reading!
