Smartass and Sass is a monthly subscription box designed for gals with a sense of humor.

(NSFW FYI – not all the contents of the box may be suitable for viewing at work. Just a heads up!)

Each month, you'll receive 4-8 awesomely irreverent items handmade by artists and small businesses. The women behind Smartass & Sass might not take themselves too seriously, but they are serious about supporting the creatives behind the items in their box and paying a fair price for their quality goods. Smartass & Sass also offers a $15.95 Shirt-only Box and $49.95 Big Box.

This is a review of the $34.95 a month box.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Smartass & Sass November 2018 Review

Our Smartass & Sass box came with a folded pamphlet with the theme on the front, a thank you on the back and all of the information for our products on the inside. The theme for this month is "I need a nap" and boy, do I ever! I like that they included pictures, descriptions, listed values and even links where we can find the items, in addition to a spoiler for the next month. A nice thorough pamphlet!

50 Shades of Dark Circles Sleep Mask - Retail Value $10

When my husband saw this he said "I need that!" and I think a lot of people probably feel this way! This is a fun item that goes right along with our theme. The neoprene mask has an adjustable strap which is nice to ensure that you get a snug fit and can really block out all the light when you need a little extra beauty sleep. This is a very useful novelty item to me!

Spray the B*tch Away Aromatherapy Spray - Retail Value $21.50

This spray could definitely come in handy for those days when you don't get enough sleep and are feeling a bit cranky. This is a nice size spray at 2 oz. and I love that it came wrapped carefully with that fun sticker accompanied by some information on it and a 10% off coupon for Frankie and Myrrh.

This spray also came with a sticker and I love the little description on the front of the bottle. This is made from a blend of essential oils including bergamot, geranium, lavender, frankincense, and myrrh. It's a very pleasant herbal scent with just a hint of florals to it, but it's actually a bit strong for me. I think I will be passing it along to a friend who I know will get a kick out of it!

I Need More Space Sticker by Casualigraphy  - Retail Value $3.00

I love the design of this sticker. The colors are really pretty, as is the lettering. I think this should probably go on my bathroom door as a note to my kids. Too bad they aren't old enough to read yet!

Yes to Staying in More Candle by Wicked Pop Candle Co. - Retail Value $10

This 30 Rock inspired candle is a nice ode to Liz Lemon with its scent of hot apple cider & sweatpants. The design is simple and discreet enough to display anywhere and will be a fun nod to the show for any fans like me. The scent is great too, and perfect for fall or winter with its warm cinnamon notes and apple scent. This is a handmade 8 oz soy candle and I love that it comes from a small shop!

Namastay in Bed Lavender Bath Salt by Naturally Vain 3 oz. Packet - Listed Value $7 (buy 8 oz for $11)

This is one of those fun items where the name means everything! "Namastay in Bed" goes perfectly with our nap theme and these lavender bath salts will be a nice treat to help you relax. The lavender scent is just enough without being too overpowering. The bag is resealable and you can see nice big pieces of the Himalayan rock salt inside. I haven't used it yet, but I'm sure it's going to leave my skin feeling nice and soft! These are also cruelty-free and vegan.

Nap All Day Socks from Primitives by Kathy - Retail Value $10

These socks are super cute with the sloth design on them and the phrase "Nap all day, sleep all night, party never" goes well with our theme for the month. I'm not sure it exactly applies to me, but the socks are cute enough to wear anyway! I love how they form a complete picture when they are next to each other and the bright pink color.

Bonus Item: Nope Sloth

I was really happy to see that this sloth is not listed as one of our products this month since it is a pretty cheaply made item, but instead, it's a cute little bonus that goes with our socks. It's a simple, stuffed sloth, but the addition of the "Hello my name is Nope" sticker was a cute way to add a little sass to it!

The Verdict: I wasn't sure what to expect from my first Smartass & Sass box, but the "I need a nap" theme was a fun one that definitely applies! I liked that there were a lot of useful items in this box that became sassy in nature due to the product names. I think the candle might be my favorite item, but I know I will probably get a lot of wear out of those socks, too! The total value of the items we received (not counting our little sloth buddy) was $61.50 which makes it a decent value for the $41.85 cost of this box.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the December box. From Smartass & Sass:

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

Love the socks but it might be a better deal to just buy them separately if I won’t use the rest 🙂

Any idea how to get decent sleep when the plastic strap adjuster of the eye mask is between your skull and the pillow? I don’t get it. Love the printed text on the front, though.
