Luxe Catch Posh Box “Glamazon” December 2018 Review

spoiler options

December's theme is “Glamazon” and is all about party-ready looks (think dresses and other holiday glam items). Orders for this box were November 1-30 (shipped in December). I received this image in the theme spoiler email. Luxe Catch asks for your preference, so I told them I like knee-length and midi dresses. This is a great opportunity to work with the stylists to find something that is right for you.

With the posh box, I received a print out with "The Luxe Find" – which describes 11 must-have fall items – on the front and a specific breakdown of the items and values on the back.

Value and savings breakdown for my Posh Catch!

Audrey Cowl Dress by Haute Hippie - Original MSRP $325

This month, both of my dresses are from Haute Hippie, a clothing company that focuses on chic and eclectic styles. While both dresses have a similar overall shape, they have completely different styles.

This cobalt blue dress has an asymmetrical cut that is slim yet flowy. The fabric is 100% silk and it is fully lined with a 100% polyester lining. The neckline is also asymmetrical and consists of cowl draping from the wide strap across the front. I was able to wear a convertible bra with the right strap removed so it wouldn't show under the spaghetti strap of the dress. I paired it with some strappy heels, a simple black clutch, and some art deco drop earrings for a simple glam look. But, this could easily be jazzed up with a shimmery shawl, sparkly collar necklace, or statement shoes.

Lone Woman Asymmetrical Dress by Haute Hippie - Original MSRP $425

The second dress also has an asymmetrical cut but it slightly flowier. The charcoal fabric is accented but dark metallic chains that have an oil slick effects when the light hits them. The fringe in the front and lower back give a flirty feel to the edgy neckline design and open back. I love the movement of the chains as I walk and dance! It's also great that I don't have to worry about accessories since the dress has glam built in. I paired this dress with some black leather booties and a chunky bracelet for a bit of sparkle. Since this dress has double layered poly/spandex fabric, I don't have to worry about a bra underneath. Plus, the chains help cover any show-through that might happen.

Feather Lariat - Original MSRP $75

My third item is a simple and sassy feather lariat. Here, I've styled it a few different ways to show how versatile it is. The gold link chain is 48" long with two black feather tufts at either end that measures about 6" long. I wouldn't pair it with either dress above since I think the styles are competing, but I think it would a perfect for simple black dress. I also think it would look cute with jeans and a long sweater for a fun, casual look.

The Verdict:  The "Glamazon" theme is perfect for this time of year with holiday parties and New Year's events. I'm always looking for glam pieces to wear at the last minute and often end up with items I'd only wear once. I'm pleased that I received two fantastic dresses that I can wear to events this season and that I'll certainly wear again. The fit is perfect for both and the colors and fabrics (especially the silk) are incredible. While I don't love the necklace with these particular dresses, I'll get so much use out of it for casual and dressier looks. January's theme is “Goal Digger” and is going to give you all the style you need to crush your goals for 2019. I'm seeing some hints about it including office-to-dinner power pieces so I'm thinking chic blazers and sharp separates.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The “Glamazon” box sign up period has passed but you can check out the current theme on their Insta feed. If you sign up on or by December 31st you'll receive the January "Goal Digger" box as your first catch.

Value Breakdown: The Posh Box costs $250. The two dresses and necklace have a combined MSRP of $825. So, I saved $575 and got a 68% discount. That's some pretty incredible savings.

Does Luxe Catch allow exchanges for a different size? I don’t want to be out $250 if I receive clothing that doesn’t fit.

Those dresses look beautiful on you! The blue is such a nice color that really stands out and I love the way yoinstyled them. I get the bargain box and got a different blue dress. I love the color and Haute Hippie styles are so in right now, what a great surprise! Mine is a halter neck and fits loosely with a little gathering at the waist and flowy assymetric bottom that hits right about at the knee. I’m not the tallest person so this is a great elongating style for me. It’s so versatile I can’t wait to wear it with different accessories for each season!

I’d love to see a review of the bargain box, since that’s more my price range. I’m also curious what the options would have been if you had selected that you didn’t want a dressy dress.

I thought the Posh box was supposed to contain more than three items?

Love all the items you got! December was my first Luxe Catch box (after your amazing November box!) and I didn’t subscribe early enough to get a pick on the length of my dress. So jealous of your items as I got a floor length, black satin gown that I’m not sure I’m fancy enough to have an excuse to wear. Fingers crossed for January that I’ll get a rocking blazer!

Excited for the Jan box! The choices were blazer or pencil skirt (I’m just doing the Bargain Box) which was perfect for me as I had written I was looking for a blazer on my StitchFix request and then had taken it off at the last minute and was slightly regretting it. Now I can get my new blazer 🙂

Never heard of this sub, but it’s now on my radar.
