This box came with a sheet detailing the scents featured in the box.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - OCD 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - OCD 2

December 14th: It Must Be Italian OCD Hand Sanitizer, 1 oz. - Estimated Value $1.99 (based on the same size in a different scent found here)

Based on the way these goodies were packed I think we are starting small and slowly building up to the biggest and best. It Must Be Italian is a blend of chilled citron, crimson plums, and apples warmed by cashmere musk. I love having unique hand sanitizer on my person to use and share as the need arises, and this is so much more fun than the kind you can easily find at places like Bath and Body Works.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Lip Balm 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Lip Balm 2

December 15th: Triple Dog Dare You Lip Balm - Estimated Value $3.49 (based on a different lip balm found here)

Another small present! Triple Dog Dare you is flavored with fizzy root beer float, and I have no qualms about slathering this all over my lips. This is hydrating and helps to protect against the winter chill, too.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Cry Baby 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Cry Baby 3

December 16th: Cry Baby Milk Shake, 8 oz. - Estimated Value $23.98 (based on a 4 oz milk shake in a different scent found here)

Mmmmm, this smells like warm chestnuts, brown maple sugar, and buttercream. It really smells like cake, and I love adding this to my hot bath for both the delicious scent and the hydration this adds to the water.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Soap Dish 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Soap Dish 2

December 17th: Fortune Cookie Soap Soap Dish

This is an FCS-branded (by the little wood burner in the corner) bamboo soap dish which is great considering I don’t actually own a soap dish. Hmm- does this mean we are going to get a bar of soap?

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Soap 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Soap 2

December 18th: Oh, Fuuudge Bar Soap - Estimated Value $7.99 (based on the bar soaps available here)

It did mean we were getting a bar of soap! And this soap fits the soap dish perfectly while smelling deliciously of frosted cranberries, juniper, and cedar wood. I love juniper and cedar wood in bath products, and this soap is a great unisex fragrance with just a touch of fruity sweetness from the cranberries.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Bumpuses 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Bumpuses 2

December 19th: Bumpuses Toilet Spray, 2.1 oz. - Estimated Value $9.99 (based on the toilet sprays available here)

I love a good toilet spray to hide the evidence of what happened behind closed doors, and this one smells like lavender, vanilla, and peppermint. All of those scents are favorites for me so I was not surprised to find I enjoyed this scent. It does the job it was designed to do, and I am thinking of how good this scent would be in a body lotion, too.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Hand Soap 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Hand Soap 2

December 20th: What I Want For Christmas Exfoliating Hand Soap, 4 oz. - Estimated Value $8.99 (based on other exfoliating hand soaps available here)

Hmmm, this package is the same size as the December 21st gift, but we couldn't get two of the same things, right? In this case, we got a generous 4 oz hand soap scented with figs, nutmeg, and allspice. This is a great seasonal and unisex fragrance, and I am torn between displaying this in a guest bathroom or hoarding it and only using it on myself.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Hand Lotion 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Hand Lotion 2

December 21st: What I Want For Christmas Hand & Body Lotion, 4 oz. - Estimated Value $7.96 (based on the 1 oz hand soap found here)

Ahah! We didn’t get the same item, but we did get a matching lotion to go with our soap. It has the same scent of figs, nutmeg, and allspice, and this can be displayed next to the soap as a hand soap or used separately as an all-over body lotion. This provided light hydration that absorbed quickly and didn’t leave me greasy.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Body Frosting 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Body Frosting 2

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Body Frosting 3

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Body Frosting 4

December 22nd: Pink Nightmare Body Frosting, 2.5 oz. - Estimated Value $12.99 (based on the body frostings available here)

I absolutely love the texture of FCS’s body frosting- think of it as a whipped butter that melts on contact with your skin! Pink Nightmare is a fruity blend of spiced oranges and boysenberries balanced with creamy sandalwood. I love the scent and the hydration this provides to my dry skin, but I have only used this a few times and my 2.5 oz jar is already more than half empty.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Scrub 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Scrub 2

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Scrub 3

December 23rd: Santa Clause Probably Left It Solid Sugar Scrub - Estimated Value $11.75 (based on the sugar scrubs found here)

The packaging on this solid sugar scrub confused me- it would be much better suited for a small jar like the body frosting rather than this flimsy plastic that is hard to open and close securely while in the shower. This scent is a combination of cranberry apple pie and sugar crystals, and it is a sweet fruity scent I have no problem exfoliating with.

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Perfume 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Perfume 2

December 24th: The Holy Grail of Christmas Gifts Perfume Oil

Woah- this is one big perfume oil! Considering we usually get .05 oz or 0.10 oz perfume oils in the monthly subscription, this baby (I am estimating it at about 1.7 oz, as the size isn't listed) feels extra luxurious. This has a scent blend of sparkling champagne, velvet musk, Almond Creme, lavender, and pine. It isn't my favorite scent in the world (I wish the lavender and pine was more pronounced), but this would be an amazing gift if I decided to pass it along!

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Mug 1

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Mug 2

December 25th: Fortune Cookie Soap Mug

Our 12th and final gift is this neat FCS branded mug. This is a big and hefty fellow that would be perfect for holding a steaming cup of soup or chili, or it can be the most epic coffee mug ever!

Fortune Cookie Soap Advent Box December 2018 - Group Shot 2

Here are all of my goodies unwrapped and ready to be used!

The Verdict: I didn’t realize the theme of this box was A Christmas Story until someone pointed it out, but that didn’t stop me from loving the quality products and scent blends that I received! It was fun having a new little gift to unwrap every day as we got closer to Christmas (though I did have to bulk open a few of them, don't tell the Elf on the Shelf!). These scents were Advent Calendar exclusives that will only be available through Create-Your-Own events outside of this box, and that adds a really fun twist to an already great box. Value-wise, Fortune Cookie Soap promised a value of at least $100, and I think they safely met that. I couldn't estimate a value for the perfume oil, the soap dish, or the mug, but the estimated value of everything else adds up to $89.13. I feel confident saying the remaining items definitely push that total value above $100.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you still sign up today? No. this was a limited edition box available through a pre-order sale only.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $50 + free shipping, which means that each of the 12 items in the box has an average cost of $4.17.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

In the movie he says ohhh fuuudgge but what he really said was the real F word, if that makes sense, anyways his mom punished him by putting a red bar of soap in his mouth. It is a great movie!

2017 I sent the FCS advent calendar to a friend and really felt i missed out. This year I bought it for myself. What fun! I think they did a spectacular job of surprises. I was wondering if we’d get those tarts & a tart burner (another good combo I’d think). I liked the soap dish & mug in addition to the soap products. I definitely plan to buy the advent calendar next year for myself & possibly the friend. Wonder what the theme will be.

I’ve wondered the same thing. The first box I recall getting from them was the Witch, Please! Halloween box. I’m pretty sure there was a red sparkly FC in that one, to represent Dorothy’s ruby slippers.
This Christmas box felt exceptionally WEIGHTY, even for FCS. Their boxes are small but deep. My other bath subscription boxes are twice as large if not a bit over. I get Lavish, Bath Bevy and Shea Shea Bakery right now in addition to FCS monthly box.

I believe either the oversized heavy mug or the very large bottle of perfume ( both breakables) might have crushed a fortune cookie soap. The products were almost Tetris-ed in. I took every wrapped product out to show my husband and never did get them back in the box like FCS, so there was only one option- I opened them all, LOL. He liked the movie and got the root beer lip balm and the toilet spray Bumpkusses.

I know the FCS is the company’s signature original product, and I remember how thrilled I was with the first few I got. SOO cute!! They are great to display or to use, but there is not nearly as much product in one as is in most of the items they put in the monthly boxes. It’s a rolled out single layer of soap crimped and wrapped, so there’s not a lot there except as cute displays for a guest powder room, you know?

I’d buy a Fortune Cookie- only box if they’d do really cute packaging like use a Chinese take out box and fill it with smaller wrapped Fortune Cookie soaps. 😉

We did get a black glycerine one in the Snap! Snap! Halloween box with many other products, and it was beautifully packaged with Morticia’s famous rose. ( and a fake spider hanging out- I can’t get around to touching my 2- I bought two boxes). The glycerine soap seems to be more pliable than the original cookie colored soaps.

I’m fine with getting them every now and then, but another thing I have to remind myself is they have said they are sending 1 full sized product and 3 or 4 samples starting in January, so that’s a lot less than we’ve been getting.

I guess the best way to get them is to order them separately right now until they get their product mix like they want it. 😉

I’m surprised there isn’t a signature fortune cookie soap in this box, how come they don’t send those out anymore?

They’ve said the new seasonal box will have the fortune cookie soaps, I think 12 a year would be overkill so 4 seems like a good compromise.

The Easter box and Halloween both had the fortune cookie soap too.

I decided to only get one Advent type box for myself this year, and I chose this one, although it doesn’t say ” Advent”.

I had a ball opening the small, medium and large gifts every day. I totally loved everything except the lip balm flavored like root beer. I can’t do root beer at all, so hubby got it and was happy it wasn’t ” girlie”. He loves root beer. ; ).

I was so impressed by the varied festive gift bags and wrapped presents. The perfume oil was my fave thing of all. I left all my items in the shipper box until after Christmas. Time to get them out and play. ; ).

What was your favorite thing of all? 😉
