Thread Flourish Holiday card Thread Flourish Holiday info card

The first item is the insert card, providing some information on the items you will find in your box. It emphasizes their focus on ethically sourced products. The workers who make these items are paid fairly and work in safe spaces. I think this is really important and this adds so much value to this subscription for me without even knowing what is in it.

Exclusive! Cotton Silk Scarf

What a pretty color! The pattern is meant to be an abstract snowflake, but this silk/cotton blend fabric would easily transition into spring. The little tassels on the ends are so cute! This will go with most everything in my wardrobe.

Rishi Masala Chai Full Leaf Tea Sachet - Buy a box of 15 here for $8.99

This chai tea smells incredible! It was very smooth and extra spicy. I enjoyed mine with a little raw sugar and almond milk.

Divine Caramel Dark Chocolate Bar- Retail Value $1.99

My sweet tooth was quite happy with this little bonus treat! This chocolate is smooth and filled with delicious caramel. Just what I needed today!

Verdict: I really loved this month’s FlourishBox. I think supporting fair trade artisans and farmers is really important and I have been looking for even more ways to do this in my daily life/routine. The scarf itself is stunning and I love the silk/cotton blend against my skin. The color is also spot on for my wardrobe and the pattern is very thoughtful and subtle. The tea and chocolate were an indulgent little bonus that really made my evening.

To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: This box costs $39.95 and I received 3 items, which is an average of $13.32 per item. High for the chocolate and tea – but I loved the scarf so much I am still pleased!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

This actually crossed my mind too. I’m glad the snowflake part isn’t obvious.

Wow $40. for a scarf, a bag of tea, and a candy bar.

It isn’t for everyone! Much of that cost is built into the fair trade aspect: making sure the workers are paid well and treated fairly. It is a higher sum for one surprise hero item, but I love the message behind the box.

My comment wasn’t posted. I guess because it wasn’t 100% “yes, this is amazing”. Not cool, MSA.

Angie

But if that were true, this comment wouldn’t have posted either right?

$40 for a scarf that you don’t even get to select is a little steep for my budget. In addition, the scarf very visibly has a “right” side and a “wrong” side. The “wrong” side can’t be hidden when the scarf is worn, and detracts from the overall appearance. They could have stitched it as a two-sided without adding much bulk, or chosen a woven fabric, where the two sides have identical pigmentation. I will take a pass on this subscription.

It’s absolutely a very specific subscription, though I enjoyed it!
