Bubbles & Books November 2018 Review
This box usually comes with an info sheet that gives ideas on how to enjoy the items included in the box.
We also received a button that says “reading is snow much fun.” I agree, Frosty!
This was a cute story about two strangers bringing a bed and breakfast back to life just in time for Christmas. It was an easy read that I enjoyed immensely- something about simple Christmas-themed romance novels just make me happy. Annie Rains is a new author to me, and I am excited to try and find more novels by her now that I have a few weeks of relaxation due to winter break. From Amazon:
Christmas is coming to the North Carolina mountains, and the air is fresh and crisp and filled with promise. After the devastating loss of her job in the big city, the small town of Sweetwater Springs feels like heaven to Kaitlyn Russo. She’s inherited her grandparents’ charming (if a little rundown) bed and breakfast, and it’s just the new lease on life she needs. Only “heaven” comes with a catch-and a handsome and completely infuriating one at that.
After what he hopes will be a quick trip, Mitch Hargrove wants nothing more than to put his hometown in the rearview mirror. But his plans get derailed when he learns he’s now half-owner of the Sweetwater B&B. The fact that he’s given only two months to make the inn a success is a huge problem, but it’s his pretty-and incredibly headstrong-partner who’s the real challenge. With the holiday fast approaching and a grand re-opening looming, will Mitch keep running from the ghosts of Christmas past . . . or will he realize the true gift he’s been given?
Bubbles & Books Premium Handmade Soap in Candy Cane
This soap is a Bubbles & Books exclusive, handmade with olive oil, coconut oil, soybean oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, shea butter, water, and lye. This soap really smells like sweet peppermint which is one of my favorite scents any time of year, let alone during the Holidays.
Bubbles & Books Premium Bath Bomb in Mistletoe
I love that this box always includes a bath bomb—slipping into a bath that’s been fragranced with a bath bomb with a good read is one of my favorite ways to relax! This smelled fragrantly of pine which I really enjoyed, and there was a small bit of glitter in this bomb that left me a little sparkly. I will never say no to having glitter on me (within reason, please don’t glitter bomb me), and though this turned my bath a vibrant blue it didn’t stain my tub.
If You Can Read This Socks
I love these socks- they’re warm and they tell the reader to bring me wine, two of my favorite things! These socks feel like they were well made and I like that the words are a bit rubbery to provide grip so I don’t slip while wearing these.
Christmas Stocking – Buy a similar pack of 24 for $18.99
This is your basic low-budget Christmas stocking, but I like Bubbles & Books suggestions to put Christmas gifts inside of here instead of a gift bag. I am also contemplating trying to put Duchess in it for the cute photo op.
This is where I wish Bubbles & Books would take a step back and really ask if this belonged in their box- this ornament is not well made and it won’t work with many styles. I almost feel having this cheap ornament in the box cheapens the overall box experience.
Verdict: Bubbles & Books combines two of my favorite things—reading and baths! This month also felt like an improvement over previous months in terms of the quality of the items sent (ornament aside). I hope Bubbles & Books continues to improve because they have a really great subscription box idea I love and want to support.
