Thank you SO much for letting us know Birchbox was allowing current Subscribers take advantage of the Sale on subscriptions. As an ACE I was able to renew my annual Subscription for $7.00 a box. Which is 35% off. I payed $77.00. And, the ONEFORALL code was excepted. So, on top of only paying $77 I am receiving the One for all Limited Edition Box. And, the Ace’s spend $35.00 pack. This is Amazing bc as long as I’ve been a subscriber ‘13 the best deal I’ve received until now was $99 without a free gift. Anyone, who’s sub ended this month I highly recommend you renew by tomorrow and not wait until Jan. 1st to be billed.

Well, my problem is solved!

For those of you that I have bored with my story on here….Coalatree, the maker of the blanket that I bought from Birchbox responded to my email & called me today. They have amazing customer service & are replacing the wrong blankets for me themselves including shipping each way, even though it is no fault of theirs & isn’t their problem. They were really great to talk to (and sound very cool!)
The funny thing is …they told me that Birchbox only had the wrong blankets that I was sent & never had any of the correct red & blue blankets they advertised that I actually bought. I even sent him a photo from my invoice/order email because he was so surprised that they would be ‘selling’ the red & blue one when they only had the wrong one. Now he could be wrong, but he’s the vp of sales & marketing so he might be correct. The whole thing is so odd by Birchbox really.
But in the end, Coalatree handled with over & above awesome customer service what Birchbox would not. Birchbox could have gotten the correct blankets directly from Coalatree to correct the order they sold me, just as easily as I did all on my own- but they did not.

I encourage others to check out Coalatree because they sound like a great company & I’m now a customer for life. I’ll also be buying a hammock from them directly & on sale too!

They removed some items from the sale category that haven’t sold out, right before this sale. The Marcelle luminous kit with a full size BB cream and powder is one example. I am sad about that 🙁

They will probably stick them back into the sale items when this winter sale is over.

I happened upon this sale last night and found the offer does somewhat “stack” on what’s left of their sale items. I’m Aces member and items in the sales category came to about 50% off of their regular prices.

I purchased some of the limited edition bundles that I FOMOed from the black Friday sales (Vogue Box). Most of what I wanted (BeautyBlender sets) are gone, but still a few good deals left as well as those free with purchase items.

I’m new to building my collection so this was lots of great starter and travel sizes for me to try.

I’ve selected Mystery Box for a few of my purchases and hope that I don’t get multiples. Let me know if you’ve had any experience with choosing that Item more than once on orders placed same time periods.

I have ordered from Birchbox sales countless times, including Black Fridays and Cyber Mondays, and I have never once received the wrong item from them so we’ve had very different experiences there. They have always been pretty meticulous with my orders. Sorry to hear you did not share the same experience that I have always had with Birchbox.

I’ve also never been shipped the wrong things. I have had a few orders canceled because they ran out of inventory, but CS has always been very pleasant and apologetic. I’ve also had a few things arrived damaged and they have sent replacements without hassle and in this last go-around of Black Friday orders they “forgot” to send my free mystery packs in 3 orders. I didn’t even contact them and just wrote it off, but a week later 3 separate envelopes showed up with the mystery packs anyways!

I’ve had really great experience with Birchbox CS. I got the December curated box last year (such a good one) along with a couple other items from their shop and it appeared to have gotten lost in the mail. So they sent a new order, except it had been a long time since I was a subscriber, and my “default” address had changed, and I didn’t notice until after I got off chat with them. They said they would intercept in the warehouse, but it still appeared to have been sent to the wrong address. So they sent yet another! The one “lost” in the mail showed up a couple weeks later, and the second one did go to the correct address. Long story short, I ended up with 3 of everything, and they told me to keep it all!

That’s great Amber & LB, you were more fortunate with your orders than I was & I’m happy for you!
You SHOULD get good customer service, we all should.
Maybe because it’s a more expensive item ? But come to think of it, they didn’t respond about the broken leaking shampoo either. So that was weird. They usually do take care of those things in my experience.
The worst part was that they were very happy (lots of !!!!’s in the email) to tell me that they were giving me (for the wrong blankets mind you) return shipping free to me! and told me to Have a great day! so that was annoying and didn’t help. Probably why I’m so mad to be honest. I felt like they think I’m so stupid that I will be happy & excited that they are gifting me free shipping back to them for the wrong items they sent me. Sort of like when another sub box company was giving out awful customer service then telling everyone to Have a Great Day!! in the email and it made everyone crazy!

I’ve emailed the brand who sells the blankets to see if I can ship them back to them instead, in exchange for the correct ones I bought from Birchbox. If I’m going to have to make a trip to the post office to ship everything back to someone, maybe I can get the correct ones in exchange since Birchbox won’t take care of it. I’ll be out the postage to ship the blankets to the actual company instead of free to Birchbox but at least I’ll have the correct ones & won’t feel that I had to do all this work & end up with nothing for my effort.
So fingers crossed it works out & hopefully no one else on MSA has issues like I did. 🙂

Does anyone know if there’s a timeframe to redeem a gift subscription?

If I purchase one now, does the recipient need to use it immediately or can they redeem it a month or two later?

I’ve had problems with Birchbox during their similar black friday sales. I now have to return a bunch of wrong items they sent me, I’m not even getting the items I bought as gifts and I now have a trip to the post office with returns & a long line to look forward to!

I made a large purchase during the black Friday sale, and I received all my items as expected. I was thrilled with everything in the box, and lots of Christmas gifts were crossed off my list. Great way to do your shopping when they have such a sale.

I just want to warn everyone that Birchbox is a mess right now & I’ve had a lot of problems with them from their Black Friday sales. So buyer beware!

I ordered 5 blankets during the sale and they shipped me 5 DIFFERENT blankets that they don’t even sell (and are ugly) instead of the 5 nice blankets that I bought from their website. All of them were mysteriously wrong with no explanation from Birchbox.
Now I have to package it all back up & take them to the post office to ship them back to get my money back….two weeks before Christmas. On top of that, they tried to make it sound very exciting that they weren’t even charging me! for return shipping on the wrong products that were entirely their mistake & should be their problem not mine, as if they were doing me a favor & I was lucky they were doing that.

They told me the blankets I bought are all out of stock now so I’m not even getting any of the blankets I actually bought. No effort by Birchbox to get me my items. I’m out 5 gifts I had already finished weeks ago and have all this extra work & hassle to do returns just to get my money back.

I also ordered a big liter shampoo and they shipped it almost completely unprotected. It arrived with a broken cap, leaking, and damaged the oribe gwp that arrived also unprotected with it’s cap off & almost empty. They don’t even care.

I don’t know what’s going on with them, but I just had to share my experiences so others can be warned if buying for gifts this close to the holidays, they may want to buy from a real retailer instead of the hassle.
