Birchbox Travel Sized Treats item list

Wow! This bag is FILLED with amazing items. Let's dive in!

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats fix Birchbox Travel Sized Treats fix back

MAC Prep + Prime Fix +, 1.0 oz. - Estimated Value $7.65 (Buy the full size 3.4 oz here for $26.00)

There is a reason this magic spray is a cult favorite: it works. I used this fixer on my wedding day in 102-degree Tennessee heat and my makeup was on my face still at the end of the night. A little goes a long way, so this travel size is just the ticket for a longer vacation. It also smells great and has a little twisting mechanism on its top to help you avoid leaks or unintended sprays while on the go. You can also use this to transform your eyeshadows into wet shadows with your favorite brush.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats conditioner Birchbox Travel Sized Treats conditioner back

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Shampoo, 2 oz. - Estimated Value $6.50 (Buy the full size 8 oz here for $26.00)

I have heard a lot of hype about this product line, so I was excited to try it out. I am not someone who spends a ton of money on shampoo or conditioner, but I will usually splurge a tad more for conditioner. My hair is dry and has some texture to it that I appreciate and embrace. Silky smooth hair isn't exactly my thing. This shampoo smelled like citrus and lathered up really well. I can't say I felt any major difference than any of my normal less expensive shampoos. I appreciate having this as a travel size, but I do not see myself buying more to use in the future.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Conditioner, 2 oz. - Estimated Value $6.50 (Buy the full size 8 oz here for $26.00)

While I liked the shampoo from this pair fine enough, I did not like this conditioner. It lacked the citrus scent and actually did not smell good to me at all. When I rinsed it out my hair didn't even feel like it had been conditioned. (I do have very dry and coarse hair, so maybe if you have thinner silkier strands, this might be a better experience for you.) I let my hair air dry and when it was finally done, I absolutely felt like I could have used more moisture. I was just really unimpressed with this one.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats foam wash Birchbox Travel Sized Treats foam wash back

Marcelle City Anti-Pollution Micellar Foaming Cleanser, 1.7 fl oz. - Estimated Value $5.78 (Buy a full size 5 oz here for $17.00)

I promise I truly liked things in this kit! But this was the third dud for me. I have never been a huge fan of foaming face wash because I religiously use a silicone scrubbing brush for gentle exfoliation. This light foam just kind of fell off my face in the shower, leaving me nothing to scrub. I tried it without the brush and still felt like it was just too liquidy. There was nothing exciting here and I can't see myself ever skipping any of my other options for this one.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats mini comb Birchbox Travel Sized Treats mini comb back Birchbox Travel Sized Treats mini comb detail

Number 4™ Mini Darling Comb

For my super thick hair, I really need a heavy duty comb! I tend to use combs and brushes in the shower to distribute my conditioner and this little guy handled it like a champ. It is a mini size but it fit into my hand perfectly and helped me make the most of my conditioner without tugging roughly on my long hair. Love.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats cream Birchbox Travel Sized Treats cream back

Air Repair Complexion-Boosting Moisturizer, 2 oz. - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $23.00

Air travel is like... REAL BAD for your skin, especially the more delicate areas on your face. If you have ever gotten off a plane and felt dull and dry, that's because you totally are. When I am not reviewing boxes, I tend to fly pretty frequently for buying trips and I have a great skin rotation down. I always use a heavier moisturizer like this one on a clean face before I board the plane. (I fly bare-faced because even if I wore makeup I would still look dreadful when I landed and I don't mind throwing my minimal routine on when I land.) This formula is a great choice because it is just barely fragranced, pretty heavy, quick absorbing, and travel size. I appreciate the hydration and matte finish.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats face wash Birchbox Travel Sized Treats facewash info

Bioderma Atoderm Gentle Shower Gel, 100 mL - Estimated Value $4.95 (Buy the full size 200 mL here for $9.90)

This body wash was an all-around solid basic choice for this kit. The scent is fresh and mild and it left my skin feeling clean and refreshed. I prefer a less liquidy formula and a super strong scent, so this wasn't really my jam, but it is still a great choice for traveling, especially since it is a really generous size.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats eye pads Birchbox Travel Sized Treats eye pad backs

Wilma Schumann Skin Care Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads, 3 pairs - Estimated Value $10.80 (Buy 5 pairs here for $18.00)

I love eye pads, but sometimes you open that little pack and the pads are so dry! This is not the case for these at all. They basically dripped wonderful serum all over when I removed them from the packaging. Yes! My undereye always can use more moisture and these sticky little guys were amazingly hydrating. Before I used these I placed them in the fridge for about 30 minutes and the cooling effect added even more de-puffing power. I really appreciate that I got three pairs in this pack and plan on saving the other two for actual travel as a special treat when I finally get off a plane and to a hotel.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats cream duo Birchbox Travel Sized Treats cream duo detail Birchbox Travel Sized Treats cream duo closed Birchbox Travel Sized Treats cream duo back

Kosås Color & Light Palette, 0.32 oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $34.00

These colors are so pretty and the pairing fits right into my minimal approach to makeup. I found that the blush can also be used as lip tint in a pinch and the highlighter can be used as a super subtle and glowing eyeshadow. The less product I have to haul around when I travel, the better. The formulas were scentless, light, and creamy. The color of the blush was beautiful underneath my translucent setting powder and the highlighter was so subtle and gave my face a lovely sheen.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats toothpaste Birchbox Travel Sized Treats toothpaste back

Marvis Whitening Toothpaste, 10 mL - Estimated Value $3.00 (Buy the full size 25 mL here for $7.50)

This toothpaste had a much stronger and more natural mint taste than my normal Crest, but I thought it was really tasty. Does tasty matter in toothpaste? I think so. This cute little travel size is perfect for a little longer of a trip since a little of this paste goes a long way. This fancy Italian toothpaste also has fluoride so your teeth will be strong as well as sparkly.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats toothbrush Birchbox Travel Sized Treats toothbrush open Birchbox Travel Sized Treats toothbrish head Birchbox Travel Sized Treats toothbrush cover Birchbox Travel Sized Treats toothbrush info

C. O. Bigelow Soft Bristle Toothbrush - Retail Value $7.00

It wouldn't be a travel kit without a toothbrush. This minimal choice from C. O. Bigelow features soft round bristles and a traditional translucent handle. It also has a little cap for keeping your bristles clean while in your travel bag.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats invisibobbles Birchbox Travel Sized Treatsinvisibobbles open Birchbox Travel Sized Treats invisibobbles stretched Birchbox Travel Sized Treats invisibobbles info

Invisibobble SLIM - Retail Value $8.00

I am a recent Invisibobble fangirl and I am always very happy to see them in a box. They support my everyday messy bun without leaving creases in my hair and look a lot more stylish around my wrist than a traditional elastic hair ring. I didn't have any in silver yet so these were a welcome addition to my collection.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats deodorant Birchbox Travel Sized Treats deodorant back Birchbox Travel Sized Treats deodorant detail

Schmidt's Sensitive Skin Deodorant Stick, 0.7 oz - Estimated Value $2.37 (Buy the full size 3.25 oz here for $10.99)

This has to be one of my favorite scents ever. Matcha and Jasime meet in a marriage that is complex and green, but also sweet. I have mixed feelings on natural deodorants and really wish they worked for me, though I do usually have better luck with them in the winter months as I just stay cold and don't sweat much. The scent alone makes me willing to give this brand a try, and hey, if it doesn't work I am not above using this as a solid perfume. The strong scent is THAT good.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats lipgloss Birchbox Travel Sized Treats lip glass back

Kopari Coconut Lip Glossy, 0.35  oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $12.00

I love coconut oil and am thrilled with this full-size lip gloss! So often these more natural glosses are matte but this one is very shiny and glossy. It makes an excellent topper to your favorite lipstick or stain and smells like coconuts and sunshine. It also really packs on the moisture so prepare your lips for a total treat.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats socks Birchbox Travel Sized Treats socks info Birchbox Travel Sized Treats socks left Birchbox Travel Sized Treats socks right Birchbox Travel Sized Treats sock detail

Bombas Donnegal Calf Socks - Retail Value $12.00

I have gotten so many socks in my boxes lately and I am not complaining at all. These grey socks have multicolored little tufts throughout, which make them minimal but also adorable. Mainly moisture-wicking cotton, these socks have a reinforced toe and surprisingly great arch support. In hotels that are often chilly, I always appreciate having an extra cozy and thick set of socks to keep me warm.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats mints open Birchbox Travel Sized Treats mints back

Simply Gum Peppermint Mints, 1.1 oz - Buy a 6 pack for $15.99

This chic little mint tin is a great addition to my purse because it doesn't take up much space. Each powerful little mint is made of only three natural ingredients and despite their small size, they really pack a punch! On those super cramped, early morning flights, I am sure my seat neighbor will thank me for having mints for the both of us.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats luggage tag Birchbox Travel Sized Treats luggage tag back Birchbox Travel Sized Treats luggage tag detail

Birchbox Exclusive Luggage Tag

For someone who flies so much, I actually do not own a luggage tag. Birchbox has me covered! This tag is a faux pebbled leather and I love the color scheme. I already have it attached to my white hard case luggage. This should make picking my suitcase out on the luggage carousel even easier.

Birchbox Travel Sized Treats bag

Birchbox Exclusive Dopp Kit

This bag has the same delightful print as the luggage tag, but it is made out of a scuba-like fabric that should be easy to clean. It also stretches to fit the many products I always haul around with me. It will finally replace my super tacky and ridiculously old leopard dopp.

Verdict: This box has an estimated value of about $144, not including the comb, luggage tag, mints, and dopp bag. Birchbox promises $211 in value, but I'm not sure these three products make up the difference. However, I absolutely feel that this is a wonderful value for a $45 buy! You really have everything you could ever need in a travel kit an all of the items are great quality. Even though I didn't like the conditioner or the facewash, all of the other items are ones I would absolutely travel with. Add in the full-size products and hair bands and I am smitten. The beautifully branded dopp bag and luggage tag are just the extra icing on the cake.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I bought this today with the 20% off and some BB points so only paid $26. I’m most interested in the blush, lip balm, socks, and Invisibobbles. The slim ones are my favorite. The other items may be gifted as stocking stuffers. I know a lot of people love Living Proof products but I’ve never been impressed and I don’t like the fragrance at all. Generally, BB Limited edition boxes are a good deal.

I got mine a few days ago and I love it but I’m also a huge fan of living proof products and Mac. All the other items are great too. I’ve gotten the last 3 dopp kits over the past few years and this is by far my favorite one. PLUS For the $10 free bonus I got 12 benefits leave in and Lipp scrub and a bonus birchbox for spending $50 and it actually was stuffed with great samples. Very Happy.

I am going to try the Living Proof a few more times (no sense in wasting quality product!) and maybe it will grow on me. I am glad you loved this kit as much as I did. 🙂

Thanks for this review. I’ve been eyeing the box for awhile as a gift for a friend that has started to travel a lot for her job. Your review helped me see the value in the products for specific air travel concerns. I was thinking it was more of an overnight bag. In fact, it seems a well thought out curation.

The cynic in me is glad that there were some product misses for you in the set — when a reviewer likes *everything* in a set I’m less likely to believe a review because that rarely happens to me.

I am happy you enjoyed the review Erika! It really is a great kit, even with the misses. I try to be really forthcoming with my feelings, though more often than not I do enjoy most products. Sometimes though… I just don’t! Thanks for reading!
