The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full-size and sample beauty items. Vegan Cuts also offers a monthly Snack Box and quarterly Makeup Box.
This review is of the Vegan Cuts Beauty, $22.95 a month, box.
Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. The beauty items are separated into a little bag. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)
Vegan Cuts sent us this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box November 2018 Review
The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box usually contains a variety of hair care, skincare, and bath and body products. There’s often one makeup product, as well:
Each Vegan Cuts Beauty Box comes with an information card detailing the items for that month.
Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner, 1 fl oz – Estimated Value $2.49 (buy 6 fl oz for $14.95)
This has glycolic acid, which is an ingredient in some chemical peels, so do a patch test if you think you might be sensitive, and be sure to use a good SPF product alongside it. This also has rosehip extract, which is going to be a great source of vitamin C (an antioxidant). This is alcohol-free, which I find nice in a winter toner when my skin is dry. Anyway, the rooibos in this really makes it smell quite nice and I did feel the toning effects pretty quickly. This was fine in the morning before makeup, too (I mean, it actually dried on my skin as intended).
Auromère Ayurvedic Soap in Vanilla-Neem, 0.6 oz – Estimated Value $0.64 (buy 2.75 oz for $2.95)
I do use bar soap sometimes and this is a convenient size for travel. I don’t really care for the scent of neem (I bought some pure neem oil once to control pests or fungus in house plants so I am sure of that!). But this also has sandalwood, rose, and a few other extracts that kind of hide the scent of neem. I find it a little odd that we received only a sample size of such an inexpensive item, but oh well.
Andalou Naturals Cannacell Pressed Serum,0.45 oz – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $19.99
I don’t honestly buy into any of the hype about plant stem cells or all the properties attributed to hemp, but you don’t have to in order to try this product. This is called a “pressed serum” and is supposed to start out solid but kind of melt or liquefy as it hits your skin. I did not think it was necessarily a solid balm, as claimed (more of a cream), but the texture worked very well for a morning serum for me because it wasn’t super goopy or wet so it dried on my skin appropriately and didn’t interfere with putting on makeup later. It was also nicely moisturizing.
Raeka Turmeric Orange Peel Off Mask, 15 ml – Estimated Value $5.90 (buy 2.5 oz for $29.50)
This is supposed to help extract blackheads. I think I must not have used the right amount because I ended up being able to peel it off my cheeks, but not my nose, where I really could have used some help (I ended up rinsing my face with warm water to remove the traces). I will try again with a little thicker layer or a little bit of a longer time letting it dry and see if it works better. (I find peel-off masks a little bit of a hassle, but they usually have nice results when I can get them to work.)
Bogavia Pure + Fresh Hydrating Body Butter in Valencia Vanilla, 2 fl oz – Estimated Value $5 (buy 8 fl oz for $20)
I like the way this smells, sort of citrusy (it has tangerine essential oil) with a hint of vanilla. It’s a nice winter scent. This is also moisturizing. It is starting to get very, very dry where I live and I am going through body lotion quickly, so I’m happy to have more. (This brand is appearing in Vegan Cuts boxes more often. Some of their products work for me and some don’t, but this is one of the ones that do.)
Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Gloss Stain in Sienna – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $24
Ah, Manna Kadar. I don’t even get that many beauty boxes but I seem to have a ton of Manna Kadar products. This particular color is out of stock, though one or two others are available. (A lot of the Manna Kadar products I’ve received lately are discontinued or out of stock. Hmmm.) I can’t comment on how long this lasts because I tried it out at home and when I went to remove my Invisalign, I ended up with a streak of product on my cheek, which means I won’t be wearing it out of the house until I’m done with my treatment in another month or two. I do like the color and will probably wear this occasionally, though. (“Occasionally” is as good as it gets with lip products for me because I have 200+ of them and I try not to wear the same ones every week.)
Here is a swatch of the lip gloss stain.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $58.02 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. That is more than two times the cost of the subscription and almost all of the items were new to me, though I’d seen some of the brands before (Andalou Naturals, Manna Kadar, Bogavia, Auromere, and Derma E have appeared in past Vegan Cuts Beauty Boxes). The hydrating skin and body care products (serum and body butter) were favorites this month and I was happy with the toner as well.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the December box, shipping 12/11-12/14. They don’t have a standard cut-off date, but boxes don't ship until their next month’s spoilers launch (typically between the 26th and 29th of each month). If you are interested in trying some of the items, though, watch the Vegan Cuts shop for sales – they offer large bundles of past items fairly regularly.
Value Breakdown: At $22.95 for the box, you are paying approximately the following per item:
- Toner $0.98
- Soap $0.25
- Serum $7.91
- Mask $2.33
- Body Butter $1.98
- Lip gloss stain $9.49
Alternatively, each item has an average cost of $$3.83.
