Sooni Pouch September 2018 Review
On one side of the info card is a note that my pouch was prepared by J.K.!
Here is the info sheet for the box. There was a lot of overlap between the Sooni Mini Pouch and the Sooni Pouch. First up, let’s look at all of the items that came in both boxes.
Nature Republic Aloe Soothing Gel Mist, 5.07 oz – Retail Value $7.90 (currently out of stock)
This mist is 92% aloe vera and is designed to provide moisture and help to protect your skin from harmful environmental pollutants. This is incredibly gentle and would feel heavenly on a sunburn or on your skin after a sweaty workout, and it is safe for your face as well as your body!
Jant Blanc Aloe Essential Cream
This moisturizer is formulated with aloe vera and it is light and not greasy. It sank into my face pretty quickly, and it was very gentle. I was a little bummed to see I couldn’t find anything reliable about this brand online.
Dewytree Ultra Vitalizing Snail Essence Water – Buy the full-size version for $24 (₱1,299.00)
This is a hydrating toner made with snail mucus (sexy), and it is free of parabens, alcohol, and artificial colors. I liked how gentle it was on my skin while still making my pores feel nice and closed.
Dewytree Ultra Vitalizing Snail Emulsion – Buy the full-size version for $25.85 (₱1,399.00)
This is designed to be used with the snail essence water, and this too is made with snail mucus. This is a thin lotion, but not thin enough to easily come out of the plastic container- several bangs only got me a tiny bit, but that tiny bit did make my skin feel incredibly soft. This and the snail essence water are the “skincare set sample” that is promised to be included every month.
The History of Whoo Qi Jin Eye Cream – Buy the 20 mL version for $115
This is a pricey eye cream! It is designed to firm the skin around your eyes and diminish wrinkles, and the formula was inspired by traditional imperial medicine. Each pouch will include 1 foil sample, and this was this month's sample.
IntoSkin The Mud Lifting Mask - Retail Value $5.16
This is a two-step mask that includes an eye cream that you apply before the sheet mask. I found the cream to be rich and ultra-hydrating, but it still absorbed easily into my skin. The sheet mask that followed was comfortable to wear, and my skin was brighter after using.
Into Skin The Mud Revital Mask – Retail Value $5.16
This is the same 2-step mask as above, only it is designed to “revitalize” your skin- and it worked! After applying the eye cream and chilling with the face mask for 20 minutes, I massaged the extra essence in my face and went about my day. About an hour later I looked in the mirror and my skin was absolutely glowing! It felt so much softer and more hydrated—I seriously may need to buy more of these and use it weekly.
Secret Nature Strawberry Mask Sheet – Retail Value $1.66 (MYR 6.90)
Mmmm, strawberry. This strawberry sheet mask has a yummy strawberry scent, and it was a fun 20-minute mask.
Now, let’s see what came exclusively in the Sooni Pouch box:
A’Pieu Non-Latex Blending Puff – Retail Value $5 (found here for $4.49)
I love my beauty blender, but I have never tried a K-Beauty one! I would say this A’pieu blending puff is more dense and firm than a regular beauty blender, so I would probably use it for targeted concealer than to apply foundation all over my face.
Etude House Dr. Mascara Fixer, Full-Size! Retail Value $7.80
This clear mascara gel will make any mascara waterproof while also providing some curl and volume. I love products like this because while I already have my holy grail mascara, it isn't waterproof! I can use this to waterproof my lashes while still getting the dramatic look I love. This also removed easily with my eye makeup remover, and it is made with "black food extracts" (not sure what that is) to condition your lashes and help keep them healthy.
Tony Moly Clean Dew Foam Cleanser in Lemon, Full-Size! Retail Value $7.50
This is a gentle foam cleanser designed to make your skin glow "like morning dew." Since this is the lemon version it is infused with skin-brightening Vitamin C to help clarify uneven skin tone. I like cleansers with Vitamin C in them because they help with reducing and fading acne marks and scars, and I was happy that this didn't leave my face feeling tight.
Yerina Focused Skincare Pore Care Mask
This sheet mask is both alcohol and paraben-free and it is designed to minimize the appearance of pores. I do think my pores looked smaller after using, but it was only temporary.
The Verdict: I am really happy that this month Sooni Pouch included items from more well-known and easy to find brands. Brands like Tony Moly, A’peiu, and Etude House are much more mainstream, and to me personally, it helps to balance out the inability to find some of the other products online. This box promises a value of over $100, and I cannot accurately say if the total value of everything in the box meets that value. What I can say is that the values I did find added up to $40.18, which is more than the cost of the box. Considering this box costs $35.99 including free shipping and I received 12 items, including multiple full-size skincare products, overall this is a fun box. I would like to see Sooni Pouch keep up the trend of including well-known brands, and I am excited to see what October has to offer!
To Wrap Up:
Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, I believe November boxes are now shipping.
