My Zodiac Box "Pisces" Review August 2018
When you first sign up for My Zodiac Box, you'll answer some preference questions like your zodiac sign (of course), birthday, jewelry colors and sizes, if you have a bathtub, and if you'd like to receive clothing. This means each box will be curated specifically for you!
It comes with a booklet with all the details you need to enjoy your box.
The first page has a brief explanation about the importance of mindfulness when studying astrology.
The other page has all of the items featured in the box.
On the back, you'll find your horoscope for the upcoming month. This rightfully gets people confused, but since this box ships at the end of the month, they give you your horoscope for the next month.
Jade 'Taurus' Bracelet by Star Stuff Collective - Retail Value $24.95
Not sure why I received the Taurus bracelet in this Pisces box, but I feel like this might be a great time to let you know I am actually a Leo! Cosmic confusion! Next month I will be reviewing the Leo version of this box. Regardless, this bracelet is gorgeous! It is a stretch bracelet but feels very high quality and heavy. The green color of the Jade is rich and will be a great addition to my fall looks. The Pisces bracelet should have been Chrysocolla and the Leo would have been Rose Quartz. I am actually smitten with this color so I am still pleased!
Astrology Hair Ties - Retail Value $8.00
I am crazy for anything cosmic, with stars, moons, anything celestial! I want it all. These hair ties are adorable while still being chic. This style tends to leave less of a crease in my hair than a traditional hair elastic so I am always thrilled to have more of them. They also look more like a bracelet when worn on the wrist and don't leave that ugly dent behind on your skin. The colors are rich and beautiful.
Astrology Pencils by Whiskey River Soap Co. - Retail Value $10.95
These are so old school! I love the bright colors and cute sayings. I fully intend on sharing these around the office to make people smile while they jot down notes. The set also comes with a "selfie pencil" meaning the writing is backward so you can take all the selfies you want with it and have it legible. So Instagrammable!
Carved Soapstone Hamsa Hand
This votive holder is so heavy and beautiful. It is the perfect size for a little tealight and the carvings are intricate and remind me of henna. Hamsas symbolize the hand of God and are often worn as jewelry for protection from evil. This piece immediately went on my mantle with a lit candle as the sun went down. I love how the bottom has little fingernails carved. It's the little things, right?
Zodiac Wood and Brass Incense Holder- Retail Value $12.00
I love this combination of wood and brass. As someone who is constantly burning incense, it is always nice to have another holder! This one does a good enough job, though it does hold the incense a little crooked so that I get ash on the surface it is set on. There are worse problems to have though, and I appreciate the beauty of this piece.
Sandesh Natural Flora Premium Incense
The burn time on these incense sticks is shorter than some others I have, but the smell is beautiful and very traditional. I love the heavy wood smells blended with resin and flowers.
The Verdict: My Zodiac Box 'Pisces' had some great items I really enjoy even though I am a Leo. There wasn't a single item I didn't enjoy this month. I already have a hair tie on my wrist next to the jade bracelet, a candle in the hamsa holder, and incense burning. I feel like this box had a great variety and value this month. I really think they did a great job!
