I got the tarte blush. I wanted to get the Juno sponge but I totally forgot in the morning to check right away so I missed out. -.-

JuJu

Interesting, everyone was hating on that Smashbox palette so much, but it’s sold out!

Emily

The Purlisse BB cream came back into stock when I checked again later, went ahead and picked that up. Now let’s just hope it was actually restocked and they’re not just selling more than they have.

Kem

I didn’t even know that was a thing – the re-stocking. Ugh! Maybe I could have waited to see if the re-stocked the Juno sponge.

Thanks! When I first checked in the afternoon it was sold out but I just looked and I was able to add it. This was one of the main things I had my eye on, glad I grabbed one.

Did anyone else receive a random email from ipsy saying “Your tracking code” and “Woo-hoo! We just put a special package in the mail for you. It’s on its way!” …..I have no idea what it is, They did totally mess up my add-ons and sent me a random makeup brush instead of what i actually purchased, but i emailed them about it and havn’t even gotten a response…Hmmm maybe it’s my missing shape tape and bum bum cream

Kate

I ordered the shape tape, and.it wasn’t in my box. They said they would send it out. Mistakes happen, no problem. Then, they sent me some “Aurora x ipsy” concealer. Not acceptable. I contacted customer support, and I swear I got some copy-paste answer saying “I’m sorry to hear that you do not want your extra product anymore! Add ons are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once your Glam Bag is ready for shipment.” No details at all about the problem. I emailed back saying that wasn’t acceptable. I ordered a specific item, they didn’t supply it. I said I would file a dispute with PayPal if it wasn’t corrected. I got another copy-paste reply, saying “I can understand why this might be frustrating, so I’ll make a one-time exception for you and issue a refund. You can keep the product, on us!” Exception?! Refund?! They never sent me what I ordered! And, it’s not legal to substitute a product with the purchasers permission. I know it was only $3, but I’m so livid with the indignity of clearly being sent copy-paste responses, I’m cancelling my account.

I just resubscribed after canceling back in mid 2017.
I’m getting:
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Quirky
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
Ciate London Mini Translucent Setting Powder in Hideout
Purlisse Perfect Glow BB Cream SPF30 in Medium
Youth to the People Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream

I am receiving my first Ipsy Glambag Plus this month! No regrets about that!

I added on the Pixi by Petra lip lift, the Ciate London mascara, and the Sand and Sky mask!

JennR

Those add ons are so tempting, but I just had to be honest with myself and say that there is absolutely nothing I need. I also subscribe to Allure and Sephora, so realistically I’ll have plenty of things coming this month. Self control is hard, but I’ll save the $9!

JuJu

Btw, Macy’s currently has a 48-hour sale on a lot of palettes, including Tarte, MAC and Anastasia BH, if anyone is interested.

KristenKay

Nice. I was going there today to use my coupon from the Sept box. Fortunately I found it yesterday and it expires today!

Reply ButtonReply

Misti

Anyone else’s Plus bag still in match mode where you can not see your spoilers and can not do add ons either or is it just mine ?

Reply ButtonReply

April JK

Me too.

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley McCloney

Mine is the same 😔

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Does anyone else get a kick out of reading people’s reviews on their products? Some people get seriously angry about the items they are sent and it cracks me up.

Reply ButtonReply

Retpunzel

I do this too lol I saw that they removed the ability to review things early (at least on my end). This might be why 😂

Reply ButtonReply

JennR

Some people’s expectations for a $10 beauty bag are a bit high. I figure there will be hits and misses in every bag. If they’re that picky sub boxes are a bad idea in general.

I’m still on the waitlist for the Ipsy Plus but I was offered the add-on of the Smashbox palette for $12 which I added as well as the JB illuminating primer and the Juno sponge. Got a confirmation email confirming the first to and a cancellation email for the sponge saying it was out of stock. I wasn’t offered a way to pick a different 3rd item, which I would have.

I got a glambag this month for the first time since May 2017, and I have to say… definitely not impressed. I did it for the free Belif sample (which I am confirmed to get) so I will consider it even.

Tarte blush in Quirky (have one already, in another shade. Meh. I unselected Tarte as a brand I am interested in); Barefoot Venus hand cream (don’t know the brand but I like hand cream), Katherine Cosmetics plum eyeliner (shrug emoji); Jelly Pong Pong eyeshadow in Pulsar (I specifically noted in my profile I don’t like colored eyeshadow so I don’t know what I’m gonna do with this), Sugar Cosmetics liquid lipstick in Trusty Rusty (color is okay, sample seems tiny).

Nothing full sized… at most one brand that notable. Mostly all tiny samples. I thought ipsy was supposed to be the upgrade from Birchbox’s tiny samples? SMH.

I guess I’m a negative nancy here… I was one of the first people who subscribed back when ipsy relaunched from MyGlam. Maybe it’s just gotten worse this bag because of the ipsy plus launch, but I really feel like I got shunted with both brand and sample sizes, and they did nothing to account for my profile. soooo guess I’m unsubscribing again after this.

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

The regular Ipsy Glam Bag rarely has anything full size – I think only brushes and sheet masks.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

I generally get one or two full size items in my bag. Last year’s October I got a full size Context Eye cream (rv $35!) Which I love. I’ve since bought three more on eBay for myself and for gifts. They sometimes send full size lip items, full size blushes, or full size eyeshadows. This month I *think* I am getting a full size eyeliner (really hope it’s the bronze and not the black!) and a full size nail polish, but not sure. Overall bag value seems to be a little lower this month than usual, though.

Kyuu

If I am basing it off of MSA’s Birchbox vs. ipsy vs. Sephora Play reviews (which I do, because I don’t regularly subscribe to any of them), the last five round-ups of those noted item sizes for ipsy in the following way.

August 2018:
Full-size items: 2 (includes a Huda lippie and brush)
Deluxe size items: 0

April 2018
Full-size items: 2 (full size setting powder and liquid highlighter)
Deluxe size items: 2

February 2018
Full-size items: 3 (it noted 3, but the full review says two — macaron lippie and nail polish)
Deluxe size items: 2

December 2017
Full-size items: 2 (lip polish and nail polish)
Deluxe size: 0

October 2017
Full-size items: 2 (lipstick and eye cream)
Deluxe size items: 0

And if I read each monthly review (which I do because i just like reading this bag), there is usually one full sized item.

I obviously have said I don’t get ipsy regularly. So my impression of what is in the the bags is based on MSA’s reviews, and it would seem like there is usually at least 1 full sized item in each bag. Unless if ipsy is specifically putting in better items in MSA’s bag which would seem unethical and unrepresentative of their service.

Athena

I am really liking this new idea of add ons, but I just hope that my bag does not come later than normal and that they are all there. I like though how it is going. May have to cancel my boxycharm and stick with this. But I can already tell that it will be an extra $6-9 a month! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Simone

Little bummed I’m not getting the bum bum cream, but I still have half a jar full jar, plus a travel sized from Boxy, so not too bad. Also, didn’t get the eye palette, but im actually happy because the last thing I need is another neutral palette when I just bought the ABH Sultry and Hudas New Nudes. I had an add on I don’t see on here, the PeriPera Lip Velvet, which I have been dying to try (a gorgeous red). Also added the Juno sponge. All in all, for me, this is the second month in a row that Ipsy is killing Boxycharm for me. Only reason I’m staying with BC is for Boxyluxe, since I loved the first one so much.

Cady

How are you liking the sultry palette ? I’m on the fence

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

anybody have any experience with any of the available mascara add ons? worth it?

Reply ButtonReply

Pamela

The Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara is my go to. It doesn’t flake or bother my contacts.

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

Thanks Pamela! I have contacts too so that’s a big plus I’m gonna try it

MissBailey

I added on the The Balm eyeshadow in Brave. I was really hoping the Pistache body butter woud be an add-on.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

Wow guess I need to wake up earlier on add on day because that purlisse sold out so quickly! But I got the tarte blush which I’m excited about

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

I know, I looked at 7:30 in the morning and quite a number of things were sold out! But I was able to grab the tarte blush and Nomad highlighter.

Reply ButtonReply

Kara

I was up insanely early (newborn at home!) and checked the add ons and those were already sold out. It had to have been about 2 am mountain standard time… not sure how it even sold out that fast!

Reply ButtonReply

Juliee

Yes, they were sold out when I was up at 3:30am central standard time. I don’t have a newborn. Just middle age bladder!

Jennifer

My bag wasn’t the greatest for me this month (shades all unwearable for me) but I got the tarte blush and Nomad highlighter (great reviews, good shade, and I’ve liked past nomad items from ipsy.) Loving the add on option though I can see its going to be an extra $6 every month!

Reply ButtonReply

Redhed36

Does anyone have experience with the Ciate London translucent powder? I can’t find it online anywhere.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

I’m happy with my regular bag this month. Only slightly bummed (get it?) that I switched back from Plus, but the rest of the spoilers were not for me, and I got a sample tube of the bum bum cream last month.

I’m getting:

NAILS INC polish on Montpelier Walk (pinky nude, I like it and I love polish)

PISTACHE SKINCARE Whipped pistachio body butter (I said yes to this on the survey, so yay!)

SAND + SKY porefining face mask (Was guaranteed this by ipsy care for the bummer of Oct plus bag)

THEBALM COSMETICS Foiled Again eyeshadow in Cahoots (gunmetal silver, don’t have a shade like this so again yay)

INC.REDIBLE glazin over long lasting lip stain in Find your Light, Not Mr Right (only one I’m slightly meh about. But the color is pretty, so we’ll see how it actually works)

I also added on the skyn eye serum, the juno sponge, and the tarte blush.

Great month for me!

Reply ButtonReply

Monica

I added on 2 items however last month had a better selection. I thought about adding on the $12 eye palette but I don’t think I would wear those shades much so I passed on that but it’s a good deal.

Reply ButtonReply

Jill M

I got the YTP moisturizer and the Skoner brow wand. I also redeemed my points for the cleansing wipes a couple weeks ago, so this is shaping up to be an awesome box! I get the Plus and I’m getting SDJ Bum Bum, IT Cosmetics palette, eye brush trio, Dr. Brandt, and the Makeup Geek foiled lippie! Also have two Boxycharms coming this month so I’m sure I will find a few Christmas gifts in there as well! So happy Ipsy added this option of add ons!

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

I don’t think a deluxe size of any of those is worth $3 to me, although it’s a nice option to have.

Reply ButtonReply

Bell

Only thing that really interested me was the argon oil (full bottle is about $100), but the sampling looks so tiny that I may just end up regretting paying $3 for 1-2 use. My face is terribly dry right now from my acne rx.

Also- if you picked 3 items, your total is $9. Id rather take my chances and get another sub for $10 and get 5 items plus the extra bag.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

Lol, good point. So far I’ve done $6 in add-ons each month, but if I start picking three maybe I should just get a second sub. Although, the nice thing about the add-ons is it gives more control over what I get.

JuJu

Yes, that’s what I thought as well. Ipsy regular, Macy’s, Allure are all better deals than this.

Or, of course, the other option would be to swap for those items, but they are definitely not worth paying $3 for each to me.

Although still a better deal than those $3 samples SoChoix used to sell, now that I think of it. 😊

Janae

I have the ipsy plus and I checked first the lip color and then snagged the smashbox. I also grabbed the sand and sky. I’m a little upset with myself cause I redeemed my points for the Lottie London blush and then it was there for $3. I was hoping the Huda beauty spoiler would be an add on but that would be too nice wouldn’t it

Reply ButtonReply

happyoften

Added the smashbox, sand n sky and the lip tint I can’t remember the name of. I’ve wanted to try all of these, so as disappointed as I am with the box overall, (very, very, very) I am excited about the add ons.

I think I was just too excited about the it eye pallette. I was assuming it going to be like last month where the big reveal was going to everyone, and so didn’t even guess I wouldn’t get it. Honestly, plus might not be for me.

I can happily spend $10 and get to try things I normally wouldn’t, but $25 for full size products I will never use doesn’t make budgetary sense to me. On the fence.

Hoping the Dr Brandt or the tarte pallette pulls it out for me, which could happen. One item I can enjoy is really all I hope for out of these boxes, in all truth.

Reply ButtonReply

Simone

I got the same Dr. Brandt product in Boxy a couple months ago, and am getting it again this month. I don’t use it much, but…it does do exactly what it says it does, so if you need an eye depuffing cream, you should enjoy it.

This is excellent news!
