ZaaBox “Lemongrass Spa” September 2018 Review
Enclosed in the box is an info card describing the products and the product ingredients.
Each month the founder Mr. Strong sends a handwritten note, which leaves me blushing.
Clarify Gentle Facial Cleanser, 2oz – Retail Value $10.00
This gel facial cleanser was gentle on my skin and is lightly scented. The bottle says it’s for normal to oily skin, but the website also says its beneficial for acne prone skin that tends toward congested pores.
Lemongrass Shower Icing with Apricot Kernel Oil, 4oz – Estimated Value $7.50
I didn’t find this particular shower icing on their website, but they had other scents that were for sale. The shower icing is whipped, creamy and thick in consistency. So, a little goes a long way; it’s lightly scented and left my skin soft.
Lemongrass Body Wash, 2oz – Estimated Value $2.25 (buy an 8 oz. bottle for $9)
This gel body wash is lightly scented has rich lather and is sudsy.
Lemongrass Shower Steamer, 2 oz – Estimated Value $3.75
I don’t get the value of a shower steamer. I have received them before in subscription boxes, and they were not effective. I placed the shower steamer at the bottom of the shower near the drain and waited for the aroma. I got the aroma of the shower icing but not the shower steamer. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or I’m not detecting the aroma of the shower steamer, but I’m not a fan.
Phillip Ashley Chocolates – Estimated Value $10.00 (buy a 12-piece box for $49)
I received a small box with two circular chocolates in the flavor Thai Lemongrass Mint. The chocolate was sweet with a creamy center. It wasn’t as flavorful as previous chocolates sent. The chocolates were handcrafted in small batches using the finest ingredients with fair trade chocolate. I didn’t find this particular set of chocolate on their website, so the value is an estimate.
On occasion, ZaaBox will send a single rose, which is an endearing gesture. I don’t receive roses, so I relish in the moments when I get one.
The Verdict: Another enjoyable box and they continue to pamper me monthly as well as leaving me blushing from the handwritten note from Mr.Strong. This month’s ZaaBox had a low value again ($33.50). The products were superb, and I enjoyed each item, but for $34.95 plus $5 shipping a month, I’m expecting full-size products and a “hero” that wows us and is at least double the box. The box does deliver on pampering me which is its motto and makes me feel special, which I like. Their theme runs throughout the box and this month was heavy on body products; I would have like to have had a body lotion or cream with the bath/shower products. Let’s see what’s in store for next month.
