UrbaneBox September 2018 Review

UrbaneBox tends to vary a lot in the styles they send. Most of the time, the items they send work together as an outfit. This month they sent me a coordinating tank top and vest and a backpack. Let’s see how they look!

return envelope

There is a flat rate envelope for any returns/exchanges you have. You simply log on to your account and request a return label if needed. Return shipping is free when exchanging sizes.

Emaline Guadalupe Floral Bar Neck Blouse, M - Retail Value $48

Although this sleeveless blouse isn't the most flattering shape for me, I love the minty color with a delicate white floral pattern. The neckline is high enough to not have to worry about gaping and has a bar detail to keep it closed. I think the cut is too flowy around the waist and adds a lot of width to my frame. I think it would work best for straight body shapes.

BluHeaven Flyaway Vest in Charcoal, M - Retail Value $39.99

I think I can get a lot of use out of this vest this fall! The 95% rayon/5% spandex fabric is slinky, super stretchy, and lightweight. There is a tie on the back so the waistline can be ruched in or loosened a bit. The flyaway style means there is enough fabric around the bust so that it will stay draped where I want it and not just fall to the sides of my chest. I've paired it with the sleeveless blouse (which coordinates) but I'd wear it paired with a long sleeve solid top and chunky necklace (shown above).

Nicole Rucci Fashion Backpack in Gray - Estimated Value $29.99

I've recently become a fan of carrying backpacks since they can fit so much and leave my hands free when out and about. This backpack is certainly roomy and has pockets inside and out. I think it would make a great diaper bag since it has a ton of room inside. (Can you tell a lot of my friends have been having babies lately 🙂 ) The slouchy look isn't my style (I gravitate toward more structured styles) but may appeal to you if you like boho style bags.

outfit worn

Here are the 3 pieces worn together. I'm not a big fan of the vest and sleeveless top style, so this isn't an ideal outfit for me. I'd be more likely to wear the top and vest on their own with more flattering pairings for my body shape.

Verdict: This month, UrbaneBox sent me 3 items that could coordinate well as an outfit. For me, the outfit just isn't my style. But, I like the vest and think I'll get a lot of use out of it by layering it over my long sleeve tees this fall. The backpack isn't really my style, so I may think about gifting it. What I've received in this subscription has been a surprise every month. I think I'll change up my style quiz and see if it makes a difference in the styles I receive.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? UrbaneBox curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: At $60 for this box, each item averaged out to $20 each.

I’m not sure the profile matters all that much – I had business for my request and no bright colors and received the same back pack in bright blue (did your stink? mine smells really strongly- wouldn’t even regift it because of smell), a see thru summer dress, I did receive an unsized jacket that looks petite which I’m not. If you are an active member you can return items for free to get a different size – I wonder if the top you received would be ok in a small? I can’t return because I cancelled. If you do decide to join read the faqs carefully.

Tiffany, how did you make your bun in your hair look so cute?’! I’m serious I would love to see a tutorial on it maybe including what products you use from subscription boxes!
