October 2018 The Monthly Momma Box “Fab’n This Fall” Review

I love the cute packaging! They even used tape that looks like lace – what a nice touch!

Included in the box was a pamphlet highlighting this month’s theme, Fab’n This Fall, and a sticker with their adorable fox logo. The first page featured a note from the founder of the box who explained how she loves fall for many of the same reasons I do, including leggings and tummy hiding sweaters! The inside of the pamphlet lists all of the items in our box and also includes details on how to win a free box. I like that there are pictures of all the items and that they noted which items are also included in their monthly mailer option.

Let’s start with the items that are also offered in the Mommy Mailer option:

Tied and Tangled Halloween Hair Ties – Retail Value $4.95 (found here for $3.96)

Seasonal hair ties are a fun way to start a fall themed box! These are super cute and while they look so festive all together on their pumpkin holder, two of them can be used any time of year. These are a cute accessory for your wrist and the best part is that they won’t pull your hair when it’s time to put it up.

Primitives by Kathy Holiday Socks – Retail Value $10.25

These socks are another cute, but practical fall item. I love a pair of comfy socks and wine is my second drink of choice after coffee, so I was happy to receive these. They will make for a fun conversational piece around the holidays!

Luxury Luxe Soap in Autumn Swirl – Estimated Value $7 (based on this soap bar which looks to be comparable in size)

This soap is so pretty that I might just have to keep it as a decorative soap for our guest bathroom! The scent of Autumn Swirl is delicious as it’s a pumpkin pecan waffle scent. I haven’t even unwrapped it yet and it smells sooooo good. It is free of detergent, phthalates, and parabens and is made with shea, cocoa, and mango butter, so it should also be super moisturizing.

Evie Brooke Designs Mama Bear Bar Necklace in Silver – Retail Value $23

The packaging of this necklace is so beautiful! It made it feel very personal and the Mama Bear phrase with a heart made it feel even more special. This is hand stamped on a 16k silver plated bar. They even included a microfiber cleaning cloth and a coupon for 20% off at their shop which I’m happy to support as it’s another mom-owned business.

This necklace has a simple clasp and is one size only. The bar is actually fairly thick, but it still looks dainty on. I love it and actually haven’t taken it off since I first tried it on!

The following items are only offered in the full box:

Primitives by Kathy Hocus Pocus Mug – Retail Value $15.92

This phrase could not be truer for me; and what better way to have your coffee than in this oversized 20-ounce mug! This is the perfect seasonal mug that I’ll be happy to take out each year to get my fill of coffee, or hot apple cider when the mood strikes me.

It’s really difficult to see in these pictures, but the images actually have very subtle glitter in them. The black areas have a bit of green iridescence from the glitter which you can only see when the light hits it just right. I love the fun images on this mug and the subtle hint of glitter just steps it up a notch!

Clockwork Candle Co.8 oz. Candle in Apple Cider Donut – Retail Value $10 (found here for $8.00)

This candle is really cute and looks good enough to eat! This handmade candle is apple cider donut scented and fills the room with its sweet, but subtle fall scent. It is 100% soy and features an earth-friendly wick.

Luxe Sugar Mama Whipped Soap 4 oz. Jar in Pumpkin Spice – Retail Value $8 (It looks like they are out of pumpkin spice so I linked to a different scent!)

While this soap is much more neon in color than a pumpkin, the smell is much closer to it with just a hint of spiciness to it. The whipped texture is super soft and it leaves your skin feeling moisturized which is perfect as we get into the cooler months here in Maryland. They recommend using it for shaving which I might just have to try!

Yum Earth Organic Lollipop in Very Cherry

The last item I view as more of a bonus treat and I’m not sure whether it will be in the mailer or not. I’ve never had these before, but it was really flavorful. They have a hot chili mango flavor that I might just have to check out!

NOVEMBER SPOILER:

The theme for next month’s box will be Bake it Till You Make It Momma, which is definitely intriguing and fitting for the holidays when I want to bake and eat all the things!

Verdict: This was my very first box from The Boxy Momma Company and I really enjoyed it! The thoughtful curation of all things fall was really fun and I think it was definitely a mix of practical and pampering items for mommas. I also liked that they included products from smaller or local businesses, which I’m always happy to support. I estimate the total value of this box to be $79.12 which is great for a box that costs $39.99 with free shipping! If you are curious about the mailer versus the box, it costs $20 more, but we received three extra items (the mug, candle, and whipped soap) with a total value of $33.95. I am looking forward to seeing what we get next month!

  2. Such a fun box!

  3. I don’t even have children and find this box interesting

  4. What a cozy box! I do have a question on the necklace though, is it 16k white gold plated or silver plated?

    • Hi Resa! I should have clarified in my review! I am almost positive that the necklace I received is silver plated even though the necklace I linked to says it is white gold. The card I received with it says silver plated and when you look at the designer site, it lists their metals as being either 16k gold or silver (for reference: https://www.eviebrookedesigns.com/pages/our-metals). Hope that helps! 🙂

  5. Maryland! Time to bring out all of those sub box scarves 😂

    • Haha, yup, my collection is out and waiting for me! 🙂
