Fall 2018 Skybound Megabox Review

The Fall 2018 Megabox gives us a good helping of Rick Grimes for The Walking Dead’s 15th anniversary!

The deliveries come with a general information card. These don’t go too in-depth on each item in the box, though.

This quarter comes with a little bonus commemorative pin, too.

Rick Grimes Shirt – Value $15?

I am loving this shirt – featuring a long timeline of the life of Rick Grimes.

Rick has lived a hard life in the comics (and probably a bit harder on the show) – it’s fun seeing the character at his earliest and latest on one shirt.

Rick Grimes Pin – Value $10 based on store pins

Along with your Rick Grimes shirt, you’ll be getting the awesome Rick Grimes pin! It features Rick’s police badge from before the events of the Walking Dead storyline.

Rick Grimes Sheriff Figure – Value $25-35 based on non-exclusives

So, I recently bought this 4-pack anniversary set and did not want to open it up, so I was pumped to see Rick in the box!

McFarlane figures are some of my favorites – and they’re super poseable as Andy likes to show off.

There is a lot of detail in each figure, too – I usually have an issue getting them to stand, though – so I typically keep these in the box.

Walker Bandana – Value $10?

You’ll get this zombie bandana/mask.

This is a much easier entry into becoming a Whisperer!

Munchkin Zombies – Value $25

The final Walking Dead item in the box is a little card game to survive the zombie outbreak.

Here’s a bit more from their website:

It’s the sickest, silliest Munchkin yet! You are zombies, kicking down doors and eating brains. The “monsters” you’re attacking are people, some helpless and some hazardous, with a few rogue zombies thrown in. The armor is whatever you’ve blundered across during your lurching search for brains. So bravely you’ll go forth, with mousetraps on your feet and a bowling trophy protecting your poor rotting head . . . to level up, or to die.

Birthright #31 – Value $3.99 + variant cover

I’ve been really interested in reading Birthright ever since getting issue #1 in a subscription box – but I’ve yet to get around to it – this reinforces that I need to do it! I believe this is getting its own show, too – right?

Outpost Zero #1 – Value $3.99 + variant cover

This is the final item – and it’s a nice, long issue #1 of a new series. It’s really an intro to the characters and story, as expected – I like the artwork and the storyline (a bit), but I have so much on my backlog that I think this be closer to the back of the line.

Verdict: This subscription is pretty much a subscription for The Waking Dead comics at this point – which isn’t a bad thing for me. But, with that in mind, it’s pricey – and you’ll probably recoup most of the cost through the exclusive figure – so you’ll need to be into both McFarlane figures and TWD to really get a lot of value from this one.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes. You’ll see the available box on their homepage.

  1. You are so funny! That bandanna is cool and the 4 pack you got is amazing. You are too young but it reminds me of the Johnny West dolls we used to have when I was little.
