Fall 2018 Sanrio Small Gift Crate Review
The info sheet doubles as a mini poster. The visual list of products is handy as always.
Exclusive Multi-Character T-Shirt
I love the tees that I get with this subscription. This carnival-themed heathered-gray tee has a retro 80s vibe to it that I really like. The charcoal-colored fabric is 100% cotton, too, making it comfy and breezy to wear.
Exclusive Hello Kitty Neon Variant Figure
I really like the edgy neon quality of this blind box figurine! Subscribers could receive this green version, a pink version, or a blue version. I think the green looks the most cosmic-bowling-alley of them all, haha. This lightweight plastic kitty stands just over 3″ tall.
Multi-Character Hip Pack
I know they might not be the most fashionable thing, but I am so happy that fanny packs like this one are making a comeback. They’re just so handy! The next time I head out on a hike or to a fair, I’m going to keep this strapped around my waist. It’s great not to have to worry about a purse slipping off my shoulder or a bulky backpack. Plus, I love the colors and characters on this zip-shut adjustable hip pack. There’s even a zippered inner pocket for keys or cash.
Multi-Character Embroidered Patch Pin Set
This style of decorative pins has popped up in a lot of recent Sanrio crates. I have to say, I really love the concept—each pin has the look of a cute embroidered patch without the commitment of something you have to iron in place. My favorite of the three has to me Pompompurin! Look at their cute little burger!
This spiral-bound notebook has pretty pink pages inside! How fun! It’s a 5″ x 7″ notebook, so it’s on the smaller side, but I figure it’ll come in handy for things like shopping lists or jotting down recipe ingredients to pick up at the store. I can just toss this bright notebook in my bag and flip it to the right page when I get to the store. Since it’s spiral-bound, I can just keep it propped up and open in my cart!
This tiny container was the only item in the box that I was less than impressed by. It’s billed in the product list as a kind of coin purse, but it seems like it’s missing a chain that would make it all the more convenient. I might also be biased as I’ve never kept change in a hard plastic container like this one—I’m more of a pouch gal. Still, I’ll have to give it a go now that I own it!
Verdict: I liked the vibe of this month’s box. There were lots of useful items (the notebook, the hip pack, the t-shirt) in addition to fun collectibles. I also tend to like when fall boxes don’t follow the usual autumn-leaves-and-pumpkin-spice motif that I see a lot more this time of year. This carnival theme feels a lot more unique and quirky. Personally, I feel like this box is slightly higher priced than what I’d feel comfortable spending on myself each month (especially since the products are typically more fun than functional), but I could see it making a great gift!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Unfortunately, no. But you have until December 15th to sign up for the winter box!
