PinkSeoul Mask Box September 2018 Review

Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type so be sure to figure out your skin type.

Here is the info sheet detailing the products.

Etude House Help My Fingernail Finger Pack

Etude House Help My Fingernail Finger Pack – Retail Value $2

Etude House is a popular K-Beauty brand that I am always happy to see in subscription boxes, and I was extra happy to receive this non-traditional mask! This mask pack included ten sleeves to slide over my fingers to hydrate and brighten your nails. I used this after removing my acrylics for surgery, and these didn’t provide the intense moisture I needed. I think if your nails were in normal health, however, these would work well for you!

Steam 107 Essential Mask in Snail

Steam 107 Essential Mask in Snail – Retail Value $3

Snail essence is a surprisingly common ingredient in Korean skincare, but other than the name there isn’t anything that distinctly makes this a ~snail~ mask. It was unscented and hydrating without being irritating to my eyes or being too drippy from the essence. I also tried this mask in my August Sooni Pouch.

G9 Milk Bomb Mask in Strawberry – Retail Value $4

G9 Milk Bomb Mask in Chocolate – Retail Value $4

These masks are made with milk protein extract to provide moisture to your skin. The strawberry version is for brightening skin and helping with oil, and the chocolate version is made with cacao extract to tighten pores and remove dead skin cells. These did have scents, but they were very subtle rather than being overbearing. My skin did look better after using, and I thought the packaging was fun.

It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Goodnight Sleeping Capsule in Po – Retail Value $4

It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Goodnight Sleeping Capsule in Vb – Retail Value $4

First off, yay for more non-traditional sheet masks! Secondly, I LOVE these little masks. The Po is for pore care and the Vb is for freshness and cooling, and there are two separate masks in the capsule that you mix before applying as an overnight mask. My skin drank this moisture up and I noticed an improvement in the brightness and clarity of my skin the next morning. Plus, the Vb one really was refreshing and cooling on my skin!

Heimish Low PH Hydrating Sheet Mask

Heimish Low PH Hydrating Sheet Mask – Retail Value $5

I don’t really understand the science behind the ph levels of your skin, but this mask is designed to have a 5.5 ph level to protect your skin while still soothing and improving brightness. This thin mask did leave my skin moisturized, but I didn’t see any results that would make me want to buy it again.

Benton Aloe Soothing Mask Pack

Benton Aloe Soothing Mask Pack – Retail Value $3

I have really liked the Benton skincare products I have tried, and this sheet mask is no exception. This is made with aloe leaf and green tea water to nourish and soothe your skin, and my acne looked calmer and my skin softer after using.

A’Pieu Real Big Bottle of Yogurt Sheet Mask in Apple – Retail Value $2

A’Pieu Real Big Bottle of Yogurt Sheet Mask in Blueberry – Retail Value $2

These yogurt sheet masks provide probiotics for your skin, and the apple version is for smoothing while the blueberry is for balancing. I found the smell of these masks to be light but incredibly refreshing, and my skin drank up the moisture that these babies provided.

Kocomei Flower Scent Toner in Tea Tree, 8.45 oz – Retail Value $13 (currently out of stock)

This was the accessory item for the month. It is a toner made with 7 herb extracts as well as tea tree and green tea, and it is designed to help calm irritated skin. I found that this toner is really soothing to use after a breakout, and it provides hydration without stripping my skin of its natural oils.

The Verdict: This month’s PinkSeoul Mask Box may have been my favorite yet! I loved receiving the overnight masks and the nail masks, and I thought the sheet masks performed well too. While sheet masks really only provide temporary results, I still want to see results, however minimal. I think that was accomplished with the masks this month. Value-wise, I calculated a value of $46 for this month's box.
