Nosejoy October 2018 "Smoke & Sage" Review

Nosejoy usually sends this welcome card with a note from the sub's curator with an info slip that gives a little description of each item in your box. Sometimes there are even subscriber discount codes, as is the case this month. October's theme is Smoke & Sage, and the moody tone was perfectly set by the design of the box and cards before I even got to sniffin' what each item had to offer!

Paddywax Amber & Smoke Candle, 3 oz — Retail Value $10.00

I love that Nosejoy sends Paddywax candles so frequently because, without fail, they offer complex scents and eye-catching packaging. I've come to keep a candle in my bathroom to light while I get ready in the morning, just to add a little extra delight to my day, and tin candles are good for this because when not in use, the lid can protect the candle from the splashes of hands being washed. I guess I don't know what amber smells like so I have nothing to compare this candle's scent to, but it does have an autumnal spice to it, which of course is perfectly on-season and cozy-smelling!

P.F. Candle Co. Teakwood & Tobacco Room Spray, 2 oz — Retail Value $10.00

I've come to learn that any product with "tobacco" in the scent name is going to be one I love. It's got a brilliant musk to it, yet a freshness, too, somehow. I'm not a big room spray person because I find that the scent dissipates too quickly for it to be worth it, but a few sprays of this blend is rather lasting. And its water is from Mt. Shasta—that added imagery just further deepens my love for this item!

Benjamin Soap Co. Sandalwood Vanilla Lotion Bar, .5 oz — Retail Value $8.00

This is the second lotion bar I've received in a Nosejoy box (the other was quite some time ago) and I'm pleased about it! They're great for keeping in a purse and not worrying about leaking incidents. Plus, if anyone asks if you have lotion—which happens more often than I would expect—it's a unique form of it, which makes for a fun conversation piece. The vanilla in its "vanilla sandalwood" scent is most prominent, but it's not an overly feminine scent if you ask me. My husband used it with no qualms!

Collectiv Rosewater Sage Liquid Dish Soap, 16.5 oz. — Retail Value $12.00

I've certainly received my fair share of soaps and body washes in subscription boxes, Nosejoy and others, but never dish soap! I totally welcome this idea, as I've got a backlog of body soaps but not of home products like this. The rosewater sage scent is very subtle and spa-like, leaving a nice scent on your hands. I haven't tried this soap on anything super oily or greasy yet, but it seems to work just fine for day-to-day dishes.

Soothing Treasures White Sage Bundle — Retail Value $2.50

Nothin' like a classic bundle of sage! This has such a naturely connotation for me, as I often throw sage bundles in our fire pit to keep bugs away. Now that the weather's chillier and bugs won't be as much of a problem, maybe I'll light it indoors and smudge the rooms in my house for a fresh start to go along with the new season.

Verdict: The October Nosejoy box was so perfectly autumnal, but of course not in a cliché way! As I've said in the past, I like that these scents aren't super feminine and are rather unique. Most of these products are made in the USA and some have gone an extra step with their eco-friendly, clean, and/or altruistic efforts, which I love. Value-wise, this month's items exceeded the cost of the box again, which is beginning to become the case more regularly. The box costs $34.95 (with free shipping), and the contents add up to $42.50. Great value!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your subscription will start with the November box. Sign up by the 15th to get that month's box.

I love the scent of tobacco too. This is the second room spray I’ve gotten from Nosejoy that I am in love with and will order more. Love that she keeps coming up with unique products (like dish soap) rather than the typical body washes and creams.
