Motherhood Survival Mini Box "Hygge" Review

This Fall box has a theme of Hygge, which is meant to inspire a mood of coziness, wellness and contentment and the items in our box are meant to help us achieve these. I love that they have a theme and that the first card highlights three of the women/mama-owned businesses that the purchase of this box supports. The bottom card explains a bit about the main items in the box and how they tie into our theme.

Hello Fall Print by Goldie Letter Co.

This 4 X 6 print is very pretty and definitely gives off fall vibes, but it is printed on either very thin cardstock, or somewhat thick copy paper. This is from one of the listed women/mama owned businesses and I don't mind receiving prints in boxes, but I really wish this one was a bit more substantial, especially if they are going to highlight it as one of the items for the box. I almost consider this more of a little bonus in the box.

Women's Wool Socks - Buy 4 for $10.99 (I linked to a set of similar socks, but could not find this exact pair)

I love these socks! The pattern and the colors are so pretty and make me want to snuggle up and get cozy. They are just the right thickness which means they are warm but still breathable, which is great for boot weather!

Parlo Pumpkin Everything Whipped Body Butter, 4 oz - Retail Value $7

This body cream is listed as being part lotion and part body butter and I would describe the texture as being exactly in between those two. It feels a tad greasy on my skin, but it also makes it feel soft and the smell is a delicious blend pumpkin and spice that's also a bit nutty. It's on the border of being too strong, but fortunately, the scent fades some as you rub it in. I think this will be a great moisturizer for my legs as my skin starts to get dry around this time of year, especially since it is made with cocoa and shea butter with avocado and rice bran oil, which all sound very hydrating. I love that this is from a woman/mama-owned business and that it is natural, vegan, cruelty-free and eco-friendly.

A to Z 1 oz Candles in Apple Cider Donut - Estimated Value $4 (based on the price of 4 oz candles)

A to Z 1 oz Candles in Pumpkin Patch - Estimated Value $4 (based on the price of 4 oz candles)

These little candles are so cute in their mini jars! I love that we received two of them in different scents. Apple cider donut is sweet with hints of apple and spice while the pumpkin patch scent is fresh, clean and crisp like an actual pumpkin (as opposed to some candles that smell more like pumpkin pie). These artisan soy candles are also vegan and while they are tiny at 1 oz, it says they will burn for 10 hours each!

Lindt Lindor Truffle in White Chocolate - Buy a 6 oz bag for $4.49 (found here for $4.00)

I don't think I've ever turned down a Lindor truffle, so this was a nice sweet treat to enjoy!

Verdict: I love that these Motherhood Survival Mini Boxes are still able to pack a great mix of items into such a tiny, pretty package. I think that everything definitely tied into the Hygge theme of coziness and self-care. What better ways to say cozy than with candles, body butter, and some cozy socks? I also liked that they chose to highlight businesses owned by women and fellow mamas. My favorite item in the box might just be the socks, but I will definitely be using everything. I estimate the total value of the box to be about $20.25 and we paid $24.95 + free shipping. While I was really happy with the items, there's no denying that the value is a great deal lower than the cost of the box. Since a lot of my values are estimated though, it might be fair to say we almost broke even on this one. Maybe another few pieces of chocolate would have tipped the scales though...

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $24.95, including free shipping and we received a total of 5 items (counting the candles separately and not including the truffle) which means each item has an average cost of $4.99.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
