Disney Parks Mickey and Minnie Pumpkin Salt and Pepper Set - Retail Value $24.84
These were such a pleasant surprise to pull out of our box this month! I loved that they had Halloween-themed sequins in the box and I didn't expect that the items might also revolve around Halloween as well, but I am so glad that these did! The adorable Minnie and Mickey faces and ears (and bow!) on a pumpkin shape is so cute! I love that these are also useful, too, being that they are salt and pepper shakers. These are something that we can take out and decorate with every year, which is awesome!
They are plain on the back and have a little hole on the bottom with a rubber stopper so you can add salt and pepper. Perfect Halloween table decor!
Disney Parks Walt Disney World Castle Mug - Retail Value $19.99 (found on sale here for $14.99)
This mug is rather large and holds 16 oz, which is great! I like that it's tall and narrow and has this fun castle tower handle. It feels like a great grown-up Disney item to me. I was able to find this for sale through the online Disney shop, but it looks like this was purchased directly from the park according to the price sticker on the bottom. I like that they include the price tags on the bottom because it somehow makes it feel more authentic to me.
Disney Parks Mickey Chocolate Dipped Coconut Patties, 2 Pack - Estimated Value $4.99 (Based on a site that shops for authentic merchandise from parks and ships it to you).
I love coconut and chocolate, so this was exciting to find in the box! It has a Disney Parks label on it and while it says it's fun to share, I think I might just keep these all to myself. I like the orange packaging that carries on the Halloween feel of this box!
Mine got a little melted during shipping, but these were so delicious! The coconut was nice and thick and they had just enough chocolate coating to balance it out. I also love how cute they are with their Mickey shape!
Verdict: This was a great Mickey Monthly Theme Park Edition box. I love that they incorporated some Halloween fun into the box this month and those salt and pepper shakers will definitely become a part of our traditional decor from now on! Those coconut patties were so delicious and my ideal treat, for sure! I estimate the value to be about $49.82, which is about $9.62 lower than the $59.44 ($49.99 + $9.45 shipping) cost of the box.
The draw of this box is that it is supposed to bring you items that you can only find at the actual theme park and the value in that is supposed to offset the fact that you are only receiving about a 55% return on the cost of the box most of the time. Our return was much higher this month and I think this is one of those subscriptions that you will love if you are an avid Disney fan who can't make it to the parks. This month, I was able to find the mug on the Disney store website so that detracts slightly from the value for me, but I realize that it's becoming so much easier to find any and everything online, so maybe this is where their model needs a bit of an update to ensure a better value for subscribers since the exclusivity is becoming harder to maintain.
