August 2018 Lootaku “Thousand Years of Friendship (Naruto x One Piece)” Review

The August shipment was dedicated to both One Piece and Naruto.

Each month includes a detailed information card with information on each item – including item values based on online price at the time of curation.

Limited Edition Sasuke Uchiha with Susanoo Enamel Pin – Value 5-10?

Lootaku nows sends pins with each box – and each is individually numbered for collectors out there. The pin itself has fantastic artwork this month!

One Piece T-Shirt – Value $20

Lootaku is also now sending out custom printed t-shirts each month. This kicks off the first One Piece item in our September shipment. This month’s design is featured around Ace – complete with the medallion around his neck + arm and back tattoos. This is a nice and subtle callout – I like it!

Banpresto Grandista Shinobi Relations Kakashi Hatake – $35

What’s a Lootaku shipment without a Banpresto figure/statue?! This month features Kakashi Hatake from Naruto.

All Banpresto figures arrive in individually wrapped plastic protectors – this will protect all the little individual pieces.

Pop them together and bask in the glory of this 11-inch tall statue. Banpresto always has incredible paint and sculpt detail – and while the pose is pretty basic, the details definitely stand out once again.

Banpresto MEGA WCF Thousand Sunny with Luffy – $30

The prices are all over the place online for this item – anywhere from $20-$35 – the card lists it at $30. Again, this is from Banpresto so the same rules apply in terms of quality!

This one requires a tiny bit more building than the last piece.

But how great is the end product once you’re all done?!

It’s about 7.5 inches tall when all built – but the details just really stand out here. The entire ship is loaded with detail and paint perfection.

Verdict: This subscription is mostly for the Anime fans out there. While they sometimes do non-Anime themes, it’s a bit few and far between – so you’ll want to keep track of the themes if you’re looking for these statues but don’t necessarily want anything Anime-related. overall, I’ve always found the quality to be super high with everything you receive from Lootaku – so it could definitely be a fun subscription for Anime fans looking for some surprise statues.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. You’ll find the current theme on the landing page.

  1. I wish this box was a little cheaper, but then again I wish everything was cheaper. The items are usually really quality stuff, but I worry that the value may decrease now that anime items are becoming more common in the US. For example both of these figures can be bought at Hot Topic for around $25 each, and that’s assuming they don’t have any sales going on. The customer service is good and replies quickly though, my Kakashi showed up with a broken leg and all it took was one email and a replacement was on its way. Somehow it showed up in less than a week even though it takes the box itself upwards of 2 weeks to arrive, still trying to figure that one out.
