Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Eye Bomb 3

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Eye Bomb 4

Moons Harvest Eye Candy Bath Bomb – Estimated Value $4.99 (based on other bath bombs found here)

This creepy bath bomb is perfect for the Monster Mash theme, and this was the first bath treat I chose to use! Scented with blackberry, citron, fresh pear, sage, cedar, and sandalwood, it had a great earthy scent balanced out by the sweetness of the fruit notes. I don’t think photos of the bath art do it justice— streams of blue, green, and purple shot out once this met water, and it was hypnotizing to watch it spin as it fizzed.

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Lip 1

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Lip 2

Mad Lather Creepin’ It Real Lip Scrub, 1 oz – Estimated Value $5 (based on lip scrubs found here)

I have been fighting an intense battle against chronically dry lips over the past few weeks, and I will take all of the help I can get. I was a bit concerned when trying to get the scrub out of the jar because it felt very stiff and hard, but when it actually touched my lips I was pleasantly surprised that it contained a good mix of hydrating oils as well as sugar particles for exfoliation. The apple flavor was especially tasty, too!

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Bath Pop 1

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Bath Pop 2

Southern Skye Beauty Bubble Bath Pop – Estimated Value $7 (based on other bubble bars found here)

I am a firm believer that cute packaging makes any product better, and that is the case with how this bubble bar was presented- look at the way the packaging shimmers! I crumbled about a third of this under running water and I was happy with the amount of bubbles and the lovely scent of rosemary, white musk, fruit, and woodsy florals. This also has a toy spider in it for maximum spooks this Halloween season!

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Bubble Bath 1

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Bubble Bath 2

Bath Sorbet Witches Brew Bubble Bath

Bath Sorbet is the creator of my all-time favorite bath bomb, so I was stoked to see that they created a Lavish-exclusive bubble bath for this box. The bubble bath itself is a bright green goo that I love, and the caramel apple scent is sweet and perfectly seasonal. I tried only a tiny bit of this bubble bath and didn’t get a ton of bubbles- I would recommend about a third of the bottle for one bath for a good bubble ratio.

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Bride 1

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Bride 2

Nature’s Whimsey Frankencandy Bath Bomb – Estimated Value $6 (based on other bath bombs found here)

This bride of Frankenstein bath bomb is so perfectly Halloween! I love the bright green color, and I anticipate it is going to make some amazing bath art. I won't be going out this Halloween as I recover from surgery, so my Halloween treat to myself will be this bath bomb and a good book to relax into. The scent through the packaging alone is delectable, so I cannot wait to see how the notes of fruit, cotton candy, and vanilla bloom in the warm water.

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Sugar 1

Lavish Bath Box October 2018 - Lavish Sugar 2

Whimsy by Lindsay Skull Season Sugar Scrub, 5 oz – Estimated Value $5.19 (based on a similar scrub found here)

This sugar scrub is on the thick side, but once I mixed it with water it lathered up well while doing a good job of exfoliating my skin. I enjoyed the fruity blend of ruby plum and black currant, and the shea butter skull soap is almost too cute to use.

The Verdict: Lavish Bath Box continues to be one of the best-curated subscription boxes out there, and I cannot recommend it enough if you love bath products! While the retail value is never crazy (this month I calculated an estimated value of $28.18 for everything except the bubble bath), the exclusive products and stellar curation always add extra value that makes this box a real treat to open and enjoy. Another aspect I really enjoy is being exposed to the different indie bath companies—I haven’t stepped foot into a Lush store ever since I discovered all of these wonderful companies through subscription boxes like this one.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I love Lavish and Bath Bevy. Also really enjoy my Spoil Me box from Soap Shack. All are consistently great boxes, with fun themes and wonderful products.

I discovered sugar and salt scrubs through these subscriptions and can’t believe I’ve lived so long without them!

I cancelled my Shea Shea Bakery sub. After your review of the Feb strawberry box I signed up but in my experience more misses than hits. I just signed up for Naturally Vain bath box.

Thank you Jessica for all your bath related reviews. Love reading them.

I love this box! I haven’t used my products yet… I have things from 3 Halloween bath boxes decorating my soaking bubbling tub.

For the person who asked about which box, for me, this month, it’s Bath Bevy!!! The products from Crescent City Swoon are precious, the black bath bomb really IS, and the other things are so colorful and a mixture of sweet and spicy fragrances in each one. The green bath salts is SO Halloween-ish.

BTW, I have NOT received my Shea Shea Bakery October box. I have nothing but problems with their shipping. They bill me without a hitch but can’t ship their product in the month it’s for!

FCS ” Snap Snap” was a very fun and well- curated box… I’m sure it sold out as a lot of people probably did like me and bought multiples.

Lily

Thanks, sweetie. I checked and it’s lost.. Happens to about half my boxes every month and I live smack dab in the outer area of 2 major US cities. Makes no sense at all about my boxes. But, Shea Shea is always late for me.

Are you going to review yours? I’ll see what I could have had by Halloween in your box if you review it soon. Hint 😉 😉

MinnePuffin

I’m obsessed with this box. Everything smells amazing and I just love it. I know the value is never super high, but the value is there for me, so that’s what matters!

I’m going to take a cop out- to my knowledge the bath bevy box is the only Halloween box still available for purchase!
