GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box. They have the best packaging in the business, their products are usually a deluxe size or full size, and the value is usually good too.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FYI: GlossyBox sends out multiple variations of the box during some months. So, there may be some variation between what I review and what you receive.

The Subscription Box: GLOSSYBOX

The Cost: $21 a month (save more with 6-month or annual subscription)

Deal - For a limited time, use coupon code MSAGIFT to get a free GlossyBox when you get a GlossyBox gift subscription! (Gift subscriptions start at $69 for 3 months)

The Products: Deluxe and full-size beauty products.

Check out all of my GlossyBox reviews and the list of the best beauty and makeup subscription boxes!

Ships to: US and Canada

Each box comes with a fold-out card detailing the items included:

Now, on to the items!

Invisibobble Sprunchie - Retail Value $8

(All subscribers get this item. Colors will vary.)

Anyone else kind of excited to see scrunchies are back? (I used to make scrunchies with my Grandma when I was little, so the nostalgia is strong with this one!)

And the dusty pink velvet feels on trend, too! (And this scrunchie has the coil invisibobble inside - so you still get the same hold!)

Nails INC Nail Polish in Victory Place - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $15

(All subscribers get this item.)

This shimmery pale pink takes a while to dry, but it's worth it! Two coats for full coverage:

TOCCA Voyage Candelina in Montauk – Travel-size (1.2 oz) Value $8

(All subscribers get this item.)

This candle is officially my favorite Tocca scent! It’s described as a blend of salt air and cucumber, and it smells fresh and summery. (I also love that the scent is light – this isn’t a candle fragrance that will overpower a room.)

Royal Apothic Lip Scrub - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $14

(This is a variant item.)

This sugar lip scrub was moisturizing and sweet - exactly what you'd expect from a sugar scrub! Nothing too game-changing here, but a solid product.

Pai-Shau Supreme Revitalizing Mask - 50 ml Retail Value $14

(This may be a variant item.)

This mask is ingredient-conscious, and it smells like men's cologne! (I'm a fan!) You apply it to towel-dried hair, let sit for 5 minutes, then rinse. It left my hair feeling softer but not weighed down.

Georgette Klinger Rose Clarifying Toner - 50 ml Value $3

(All subscribers get this item.)

Another ingredient conscious item! This toner is fragrance-free (though it does have a subtle natural rose scent), it's alcohol-free, and so gentle on my skin!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $62. That's a good value for the $21 cost. This is actually one of my favorite Glossyboxes in a while. I like and will use everything. Plus they sent me a scrunchie! 🙂

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! If you sign up in the month of October, this will be your first box!

Deal: For a limited time, use coupon code MSAGIFT to get a free GlossyBox when you get a GlossyBox gift subscription! (Gift subscriptions start at $69 for 3 months)

What do you think of the October 2018 GlossyBox? Are you welcoming the scrunchie trend back with open arms? Or do you never want to see it again?

When I was a young woman and trying to get started in my new home I made scrunchies every evening after work. I worked in a building with close to 500 women. On lunch they would come to my desk and take the box of scrunches. I sold enough scrunchies every week to do a little shopping on the weekends. Lol. I either purchased a dress for work or something for my new home. (This was the eighties!). Love scrunchies!!

@Michelle: That’s so freaking fantastic. I want to learn how to make scrunchies. I’m off to look for YouTube vids. You don’t happen to have a channel or blog do you?

@Liz Cadman: Can you do a post on how to make a scrunchie? I think it’d be fun, a slight departure from reviewing boxes.

when will the November box be out to look at?

An $8 scrunchie… Nope! And a $15 nail polish that takes a while to dry and needs multiple coats. Um no… Lol. My lip scrub arrived dirty like it had been in a dirty box of left overs left on the floor, I received the same item in the February 2018 box. The Georgette Klinger was the hero item for me.
You want to see what this box should look like check out the October UK Glossybox that cost $13 after conversion.
This is the same price as Boxy and a few dollars off from Ipsy Plus and we a scrunchie as a full size item.

Bonnie

Are we actually able to buy the UK version?

Redhed36

I doubt it because I tried buying the glossybox Advent calendar UK version and I couldn’t.

I’ve wanted scrunchies back for a long time!

i have to say i was pretty disappointed in this box. besides the nail polish everything is like travel size. even the hair masque. i do hair and if your paying 14 $ for that well it’s not worth’s it that’s like maybe at most 3 treatments. hope next month is better after all it is almost gone holidays.

Yay! I actually really like this box! I know Glossy can rarely compete with Beautyfix or BoxyCharm when it comes to value but I actually really like everything in this box. This is my favorite Glossybox in as long as I can remember.

If they ever sell their individual boxes again I would definitely pick up a couple of these.

Liz, I could not agree with you more on the scent of that candle. Oh my gosh, it is definitely my favorite! I’m gonna try and get every single one on the swap boards, lol. I agree this was a nice box too.
