Our Review

I just wanted to start by saying how excited I was to see this box sitting on my front porch when my baby daughter, Maleah, and I returned home from work. It came in a fun, bright orange box with polka dots. As soon as we opened the box, we were presented with amazing new toys!

Our box included an introduction card from Didis Toy Box.

It reads like an advertisement card you would receive in the mail. I may just take this and mail it a friend so that they can discover amazing toys!

The first item we received in our first toy box were these Babysitter Basics instructions tablet. There is so much pertinent information you would need to leave for your babysitter on this card from emergency contacts, the home's address, when to feed the child, when naptime or bedtime is. My favorite section is at the bottom: “No Matter What They Say, Absolutely No. ” It is perfect for my older two should I ever hire a sitter. These are just great for parents with children of any age.

Haba Croo-ak Wooden Frog

Haba Croo-ak Wooden Frog – Retail Value $16.00 (found here for $11.95)

This was our first toy! A beautifully crafted wooden frog painted bright green. I do want to mention that Didi's toys chosen are either organic, eco-friendly, made with all natural materials or are otherwise sustainably made. This particular toy made a fun sound for Maleah when held by the head and moved back and forth. She absolutely loved this toy!

Lilliputiens Mini Reversible Marcel – Retail Value $11.99

Our second toy was this orange bird. I just love the expression on his face, he looks so over it! This was one of my favorite toys. He made sounds and moved back and forth with fast motions.

At the bottom, there was a mirror that quickly caught Maleah’s attention. She likes looking at herself for short bouts of time.

But the coolest part about this toy was how it transformed into another toy! The green-blue part makes that crinkly sound which quickly caught her attention.

Lilliputiens Hugues Mini Rattle – Retail Value $21.86 ($28.64 CAD)

The third toy we received in our first box was this teeny-tiny cute little guy, arguably a bird, platypus or a duck. When shaken, he makes a quacking like noise. When you move him faster his sound is consistent and Maleah found it hilarious.

He doesn’t stand on his own though since his little body is round, but his wings are open for baby to get her hands around. He is a very soft, vibrant rattler!

Lilliputiens John the Rooster Multisound Ball – Retail Value $19.21

At first, I had no idea what this toy was. A ball maybe? But there is a beak! I was eager to break him out of his plastic cage…

And voila! He is a round chicken! He is super cute, soft and cuddly.

I adore all his different patterns that make him up. The flaps on the top are also soft and some even make the crinkling noises (I personally love those noises).

But the coolest thing about him is his noises/songs! He makes 8 different tunes, all about 5-8 seconds long. While they may become annoying, they are just so fun right now.

The sound box has an On / Off switch that is easily accessed. And that, my friends, is the only thing I dislike about this toy, but it is a small dislike because it is rather cute and she just adores it! The sound box has a tiny home and even though it has a Velcro strip to close it, the hole isn’t wide enough for the sound box and the Velcro doesn’t stay shut. I fear it will come out and hit her (or someone else) while we play with it (you’ve got to hit the toy to activate the sounds) or it will fall out and be lost forever. If the hole was just a little bit deeper, we wouldn’t have this issue.

Haba Boat – Estimated Value $1.79 (Get a set of 4 here for $7.16)

The last toy we received in our box is a classic: a toy boat.

Though Maleah is a little too small for interactive water toys, I am sure this will be an immediate favorite when she is old enough. This box is baby approved!

Verdict: We loved this Didis Toy Box! Hands down enjoyed every single toy. When I do my reviews, Maleah isn’t entertained and gets tired quickly. But when I did this one, she sat with me and laughed and played and touched and enjoyed every single item. Maleah has only laughed a handful of times and with our round chicken ball, I was able to capture a laugh. Didis Toy Box has already won our hearts and is creating everlasting memories and fun with such carefully chosen toys.

Didis Toy Box ships for $49.95 + $5 shipping. We received 5 toys that totaled $70.85 which exceeds to cost of our box significantly!
