CHC Vintage October 2018 Review
When you sign up you fill out a customer style survey where you answer questions about your personal style so each subscriber gets a dress that's customized just for them. Let's see what I received this month!
I love that they send a handwritten note to go along with your dress. This note explained a bit about the piece that I received which is from the 70's/80's era. They also gave some styling tips which I think is really helpful!
Sally III Knit Dress, Size 11/12
When I first pulled this dress out, I was drawn to the color but I was really unsure about until I tried it on. I ended up loving the way it fits though! It's probably a bit tight at the bust, but the skirt is fantastic! I liked how it was heavy but had so much movement to it. The length was perfect for me and really gave me fall vibes, which I love. I think this could easily translate into a cute and stylish wicked witch costume for Halloween. It’s something about that beautiful green color, which also feels very 80's to me. I know I need some smaller booties to go with it, but these were all I had for modeling. I also love how it's broken up in the middle by a completely different fabric and texture. The sleeves are the only part I can't figure out. They are not quite a full length on me and I can't tell if it's intentional or not. I don't think it affects the look too much though.
Here are some close-ups. You can see there is a tiny bit of pilling on the fabric, but it's not super noticeable. I love the knit detail here in the center of the dress and the gold hardware on the belt. It actually has belt loops for the belt to go through which I appreciate since waist belts never seem to stay up on me! This fabric is thick and feels like it's a really great quality, definitely perfect to take me into winter time as they recommended in my note.
Verdict: This was another win for me from CHC Vintage! I'm totally impressed with how they are able to match my style and send me pieces that I feel are fairly flattering. I just really need to up my jacket and accessories game so that I can really make the most of these dresses! This dress is in great shape and the material seems like it's a quality material that will continue to last. I am having a lot of fun with this $39.99 subscription so far and I'm excited for next month.
