September 2018 Butter London Mystery Bundle Review

Plush Rush Satin Matte Lipstick in Thrilled,

Plush Rush Satin Matte Lipstick in Thrilled, Full-Size! Retail Value $22

Right off the bat, I fell in love with the gorgeous floral packaging of this lipstick, and I wasn't disappointed once I opened up the box! The lipstick is closed by a magnet lid, and Thrilled is a such a gorgeous shade of pink-toned mauve. I wasn't expecting it, but this lipstick also has some plumping ingredients that caused some lip tingling. It didn't hurt (some plumping lipsticks do), and this lasted up until my next meal before needing to be reapplied.

Glazen Eye Gloss in Moonshine, Full-Size! Retail Value $24

This is actually the first time I have tried butter London’s eye gloss, and it is a product I was excited to see when I opened my box. The texture is really like a thick pudding, and I think applying this with your finger is the way to go. The end result was a gorgeous shimmering taupe that was super comfortable to wear!

Here it is swatched above the lipstick.

Stroke of Wow Volumizing Mascara, 0.14 oz

Stroke of Wow Volumizing Mascara, 0.14 oz –  Estimated Value $10 (based on the price of other mini mascaras from Butter London)

This mascara brush reminds me a lot of the benefit Roller Lash mascara because it has a tiny baby comb that you use to literally comb your lashes to build up length and volume. On my lashes, I noticed that my lashes were way longer, but not necessarily more volumized than any regular mascara. I am still a big fan, however!

Patent Shine 10x Nail Lacquer in Yummy Mummy

Patent Shine 10x Nail Lacquer in Yummy Mummy, Full-Size! Retail Value $18

Yummy Mummy is one of the OG shades from Butter London (I had a bottle in the same packaging as Ruby Murray!). It is a gorgeous cool beige shimmer that makes for a great neutral nail color, and this specific formula comes with a dense, curved brush that covered almost my entire nail in one swipe. At first, I didn't realize what the "patent shine" claim of this polish meant—on first application it was just as shiny as Ruby Murray, but not any shinier. It turns out that this is formulated differently with products like diamond power, with the goal actually being to make the shine last longer.

Trend Nail Lacquer in Ruby Murray, Full-Size! Retail Value $15

This nail polish is the OG Butter London packaging and comes with a longer brush that's on the narrow side. I was able to control the polish application with easy, and I absolutely love this deep berry red. And like Yummy Mummy, this polish is vegan and 8-free!

Signature File & Buffer,

Signature File & Buffer - Retail Value $5

There is no such thing as too many nail files in my book, and I adore the signature floral design. The grit on the file is only 180, which is great for gentle shaping without being too rough.

Nail Scrubbers, 5 ct – Estimated Value $5 (buy a pack of 10 for $10)

I love pre-moistened nail polish removing wipes like these ones! They make removing nail polish so convenient and easy, and I don’t have to search my apartment trying to remember where I put the cotton balls. Unfortunately, I will say that these did not live up to the claim that one wipe removes the polish from all ten nails—I ended up using two to remove the Ruby Murray on my left hand and Yummy Mummy on my right. Once the wipe finished the fourth nail it really lost steam, and removing the 5th nail was a challenge.

The Verdict: I loved this mystery bundle! For $31.99 ($25.99 + $6.99) and a promised value of $101, I got to try an estimated $99 worth of products from the entire array of offerings available from Butter London. I am always happy to own more Butter London nail polishes, and I am impressed with the shine and performance of the eye glaze. All of the other items were of good quality and will be used—I am a happy camper!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this mystery box is still available!

Value breakdown: This box costs $31.99 ($25 + $6.99 shipping) and I calculated a total value of $99. That means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Lipstick: $7.11
  • Eye Glaze: $7.76
  • Mascara: $3.23
  • Yummy Mummy: $5.81
  • Ruby Murray: $4.85
  • Nail File: $1.62

I got this exact box too – so no variations.

I absolutely loved everything in this box. The lipstick was my fave! Normally mystery bundles come with old stock and ugly colors (my last experience just like this was with Ofra – NOTHING was usable – I got a dark shade of foundation with the lightest shade of powder, for example!)

This box had all the BEST colors and the BEST products. I LOVE Butter London, and their polish is my favorite – and has proven to stand the test of time (I have years-old polish that still looks great when I wear it)…this just proves that they’re a classy business, as well!

This box is a mystery bundle- do you know if there are variations, or will everyone receive these same products?? I love your box, but am concerned that’s not what I would get if I ordered.

I received the same things, and I saw someone else did as well. I ordered a second box as a gift, so we’ll see if that is the same too. I love bL mystery boxes. They always contain great, useable products in “normal” shades. Also be sure to check out the bonus gift with $50 purchase (code BONUS50). The polish topper in that is gorgeous. Free shipping at $50 as well.
