Birchbox Sample Box October 2018 Review
Each box comes with a card detailing the items included and some tips on how to use them.
Now on to the items!
Davines Melu Hair Shield, 2.53 fl oz – Estimated Value $11.08 (buy an 8.45 oz. bottle for $37)
This Davines heat protectant spray was my sample choice this month. I chose it because I have really liked the Davines products I’ve tried in the past. This is a great product! The pump works well and the formula comes out in an even mist, and it made my hair very smooth and shiny after blow drying. Smells great, too.
Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment, 10 g – Estimated Value $4.29 (buy a 100ml tube for $42.90)
This is a new brand to me, but this mask is really nice! You apply it to moistened skin and let it sit, then exfoliate as you wash off with the gritty exfoliants in the formula. This made my skin very smooth and soft!
Air Repair Protect + Prevent Hydrating Face Serum, .14 fl oz – Estimated Value $3.64 (buy a 1 oz. bottle for $26)
This product was perfect to include in my Birchbox this month. The weather has finally turned, for good this season, to the Michigan coldness and with it, my skin has turned so dry almost overnight. This serum is an extra boost of hydration under your moisturizer. I need it!
Pūrlisse BB tinted moist cream SPF 30, .24 oz – Estimated Value $6 (buy a 1.4 0z. tube for $35)
Most products that have the word “glow” in the name are way too dark on my pale complexion, so I was surprised that this matched fairly well! It’s just a hair darker than what I prefer to wear in the Fall/Winter season (it’s just a day in the Summer sun away from being perfect). The formula is very nice, though – it has good coverage and a nice finish, and I love the SPF 30 in it. I’ll be wearing this until the sample runs out and my skin pales any further due to the winter cloudiness!
Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner, black, .04 oz – Estimated Value $12.57 (buy a full-size for $22)
This sample is just over half the size of the full size. I love liquid liners! I can never get too many from subscription boxes because I love wearing winged liner. Eyeko makes a fantastic liquid liner pend! It has a felt tip for lots of control and is super opaque black, doesn’t budge once dry, and doesn’t bleed so you can get that perfect, defined liner.
Here’s the eyeliner swatched below the BB cream.
Here’s the eyeliner on – I loved how this one performed! Great formula, and easy to use.
Verdict: This month’s Birchbox was a winner for me! I really like every single product. The estimated value total adds up to $37.58 – an awesome value from a $10 sample box!
