Each box comes with a booklet detailing the items included and why the Allure Beauty Editors selected them.

Now, on to the items!

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser – 30 ml Value $10.80

This is a gentle, creamy gel cleanser. There is no noticeable scent, and it did an excellent job of cleaning my face and removing makeup without drying out my skin!

Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment – 5 ml Value $17.50

This is a lactic acid treatment designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, plumps fine lines, and evens out hyperpigmentation. I’ve sampled this before in other subscription boxes and I *think* I could notice a difference in the evenness of my skin tone. (FYI – I don’t love the smell, but it doesn’t linger.)

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – 1 oz Value $6

This is a perfect item going into winter/dry skin season! It's moisturizing but not greasy, long lasting, and it's fragrance-free, too!

Caudalie Vinopure Blemish Control Serum – 10ml Value $16.60

This serum is a lightweight gel formula that absorbs almost instantly. It's fragrance-free but has a strong natural scent. (I like it, but it probably isn't for everyone.) It's formulated with natural salicylic acid and designed to reduce blemishes, blackheads and excess oil, tighten pores, and smooth skin texture.

So far, I'm happy to report that is was gentle on my skin - and Caudalie says it's safe for sensitive skin!

Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara – 3.5 g Value $8.84

I recently sampled this thanks to Ipsy, and it’s the best new mascara formula I’ve sampled this year! It gave my lashes incredible volume, length, and I had no clumping issues. I was thrilled to see this in the bag!

BKR Water Balm – 2 g Value $8.46

I've sampled this before and I love it! This lip balm is super hydrating, provides a gorgeous shine (without much stickiness), and is just as lovely as it looks! (Plus it is ingredient conscious and fragrance-free!)

YSL Tatouage in Nude Emblem – 3ml Value $18

(Subscribers who receive this product will receive 1 of 4 shades. FYI - this is a variant item. If you sign up now for this box, you will receive everything else I reviewed in this box, and instead of this liquid lip stain, you'll receive Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks, and Oribe FreeStyler OR Kendra Dry Oil. More details here.)

This formula is like a lip stain/liquid lipstick hybrid. If you don’t like the feeling of wearing a liquid lipstick on your lips, but still want high-pigment and staying power, I recommend checking this out. It doesn’t last as long as a long-lasting liquid lipstick, but it feels like I’m wearing nothing on my lips, and it also wears down beautifully.

Here it is swatched:

Verdict: This box has a value of about $86.20 I think that's a great value for a $15 beauty box. And these brands + products! This is such an all-star box for me! I love every single product, and I highly recommend subscribing and starting with the October box if you're thinking about it.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of publication, this box is still available. To make sure you get this as your first box, scroll down this page to make sure you see these products featured.

I received my October box today (10 Nov) after signing up a couple weeks ago. I didnt receive the YSL, but I knew that I wouldn’t when I signed up. My “mystery gift” is ridiculous though. It’s a glitter gel from a small company in Mississippi. It’s an aloe base with various sizes of glitter. I had to look up the product because I didn’t know anything about it since there was no information with it. I’m a 37 yr old medical provider and dont feel that this product has much use for me. Especially after seeing that this product is applied on children and teens on the Instagram page. C’mon Allure, was there was absolutely nothing else you could have thrown in the box? I’m not saying this is a bad product, but not something most people will use day to day. I doubt I will ever use it so hopefully I can find someone to give this to or it will be collecting dust on my vanity. I do like the other items in the box and will be perfect for my travel bag. Besides mystery gift, I’m satisfied with the box.

I feel the same way it don’t say what it’s for and maybe for Halloween it would of been cool but it says nothing about where it goes how to use it and it’s really not worth the $15 mystery gift they offer really good items most of the time I was confused about this

I am still waiting for my box. I received the email on the Fri 10/26 that is shipped, but the tracking shows heading to USPS…and has been doing that for the last few days. I just checked it and still says heading to USPS. I stayed for the 4 mos for $10 but not sure I will last past that. CS seems immune to any pleas for support so not sure how to get better service for a more timely delivery.

No box for me yet either. Money taken out on 10.12. Looks like I’m making a call today!! I never got an email that it shipped.

C

Same here! Glad to hear it isn’t just me but frustrating nonetheless.

No wonder the Hourglass Mascara is named Caution! I really loved it when first applying…very lush, but dries fast and becomes brittle, so you gotta get it right quickly. I even tried just using it as a final coat after using my tried-and-true mascara. And forget touching it up! No way! Also very difficult to remove from lashes. After using for about a week I have lost a few lashes…very heartbreaking considering I’ve worked very hard conditioning and growing my lashes for the last year. So use that mascara with CAUTION! Not for me 🙁

I just got my box, and I seem to have hit the jackpot. I got a pretty Baublebar bracelet included because I upgraded to an annual subscription. I got everything in this review including the YSL lippie, but I got TWO of the Sunday Riley Good Genes treatments! Did anyone else get two tubes of this? (It wasn’t in place of the cleanser or anything because I got that too.)

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

I got the bracelet too. Still need to figure out how to actually get it on.

I got the YSL in the Rosewood Gang. I was hoping for the red, but I had gotten one from another source, so it was okay.

Mildly surprised that the box took about as long as it normally would after it finally shipped.

Michelle

I figured out how to adjust the bracelet. Hold the little gold cylinder and gently pull the chains to make it longer or shorter. You can also adjust it without holding the cylinder, but I felt more in control if I held it.

Shawn

So…I went to the Allure website today. If you sign up now you will receive the YSL. I’ve been a member for years and received that worthless (to me) Kendra spray and eye patches. Not a good look Allure!

Reply ButtonReply

JA

Probably one of my fave Allure boxes. I got the YSL in shade Subtle Taupe which is described as a deep nude.

Reply ButtonReply

SusanY

Just got my tracking information today. Of course, it will not actually show an arrival date yet. It still says USPS is awaiting the package. Hope it arrives soon. It seems really late this month.

Reply ButtonReply

Jill C

For all who didn’t get the YSL lippie, for whatever reason, you’re NOT missing anything. It’s nasty… mine went straight into the trash. (Surprising, I know. YSL is usually amazing. But not this time)

Not happy with Allure CS. Emailed asking where my box was–its 25Oct and I’ve heard nothing. Oct was supposed to be the last box of my regular subscription and they gave me the 4 @ $10 to continue beginning in Nov. Now I’ve received an email that my 4 @ $10 will begin in Oct. Wanna bet they try to treat me like a new subscriber and not include the YSL lippie? I have all the correspondence by email, so I’m no gonna let it slide if they do…This is such poor CS on top of seemingly not having enough advertised product (the YSL lippie). I used to love my Allure sub, but not so much anymore.

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

I’m also not a new subscriber and didn’t get the lippie. I’m fine with it honestly.

Reply ButtonReply

Jann

I am not a new subscriber, I did not get the YSL Lippie. I don’t even look at the spoilers because Allure is famous for not sending what they say. I will say the eye patches and hair spray are good. I enjoyed getting 8 items!

Reply ButtonReply

Maria

Still waiting for my box. Haven’t even gotten a shipping notification. This is rather late.

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

Been a long time subscriber, got my box today and no YSL. , they sent me the Kenya spray instead, which was meant for new subscribers if YSL would ran out!! Canceling right now cuz I’m so fed up with dealing with their useless customer service

Pink5

Still haven’t gotten my box.

Checked my account and order date was shifted to 10/22.

I sent customer service a WTF! e-mail and it came back that it changed because I was “upgraded” to the annual subscription. I got snippy in my reply and asked if there was any chance of actually getting it in October and could I expect this every month.

I’m going to stand pat on my sub boxes through the end of the year and if Allure doesn’t clean up their act, I’m bailing. Which is sad, because most of this year was great and trouble-free. It’s also the sub I’ve had the longest.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Replies from Allure are that they are very sorry, sincerely sorry, but this is normal when the account is changed.

Tracking info shows my box left the central facility yesterday. I might get it in time for Halloween, but I am not holding my breath.

I just got the box, it’s awesome!! Cant wait for the November box. Still waiting for La Mer…I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it ever shows up 🙂

My box showed up today! I’ve been subscribed for over a year. I got the original spoilers box. No problems with any of the 7 items in this box. The Tatouage Couture shade I got is Rosewood Gang. Of the 4 shades they sent out, this one suites me the best. Finally! A lip product in a color that works for me that I like! I’ll be keeping that, the ultra repair cream and both Sunday Riley. The other 3 are great but they’re stocking stuffers! Happy with this box!

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

My box has yet to ship! I’ve been a long time subscriber and never receive my box this late. I’m so irritated, I was really looking forward to this one, and now I feel like I’m going to get the wander eye patches and more hair stuff that I’ll never use. Their boxes have been awesome lately and totally worth the $15, but if they screw this one up I’m going to be MAD, lol

Cassie

I just got my Allure box today, and I’m so excited! This month’s box is amazing–two Sunday Riley products, Hourglass mascara, and a YSL lip stain?!?! I can’t wait to try everything!

Reply ButtonReply

Charlotte

I just got both of my boxes today. Perfect timing, as my skin has been seriously dry due to the cooler weather – I need that FAB repair cream! Surprise hit for me from this box was the BKR water balm, which is very lush. I got Nude Emblem and Singular Taupe for the YSL lip stain. Nude Emblem is a super pretty warm pink. Singular Taupe is…ehhh. Pinkish beige that’s too close to my own lip color to even be able to tell I’m wearing anything. I get that’s the point of nude shades, but…that’s also why I don’t wear nude shades. I was really hoping to get Rosewood Gang. The formula is terrific, though, and I’m seriously considering splashing out for a full size.

Jen

I’ll trade you my rosewood for your taupe?

Coco

Got my October box today, with everything in it. Yay! My YSL lip stain is #23, singular taupe (described on the YSL website as deep nude). I thought it would be too dark, but it’s not. I absolutely love it! It’s one of the best lip products I’ve received from Allure, and I’ve been subscribing for at least 4 years. I’m sure I would love the color Liz got too, based on her swatch. I don’t normally spend $37 on lipstick/stains/glosses, but this may be the exception. Looking forward to trying all of the other items too, especially the SR.

I received my box from allure today which is a very normal timeframe for them. I received YSL in 5 Rosewood Gang which I absolutely love! My Amazon box, which I have because I’m impatient and love having spares to share, came on the 8th. I got 16 Nude Emblem which I liked just fine until I got my second box. By the way, the label on the bottom has a number in the center in case you’re having trouble identifying your color 😉 5 rosewood gang, 16 nude emblem, 1 rouge tatouage, 22 singular taupe

Reply ButtonReply

Mimi

I received the ysl lippie in no 23 singular taupe. I like it, i never had luck with lip stains but this one was fairly easy to apply. I never pan ANY makeup so the small size is enough for me.

Funny, i received the good genes in both birchbox and allure. They have the same size container but allure’s was full, and birchbox’s was around half. I remember a commenter telling me that the birchbox sample was just 3 ml. If that was the case, i find it weird they have the same packaging but with different amounts.

4 months in and I’m still liking the sub, with september’s box as my least used by far. It don’t mean it’s a bad box, just not a match for me. The only item in it that’s useful to me is the drunk elephant, which on it’s own exceeds the cost of the box.

My box hadn’t shipped yet, so I emailed customer service after the not terribly helpful CSR.

Got a reply today saying my box won’t ship until next week.

So, learn from my mistake. If you sign up for the annual rate, they start you all over again and kick you to the end of the line.

I received my October box today…same exact configuration as in this review. I immediately tried the YSL lippie. I was not impressed at all with the formula (too wet & sheer) and the color was a bit boring (flat w/ no dimension). I got the tawny color, not sure of the exact shade b/c it was not marked. I did receive all products originally advertised, and all were intact and well packaged. Looking forward to trying the SR duo 🙂

Charlotte

Pro-tip for the YSL: Wipe excess product off the applicator before applying. It’ll dry faster and won’t be so “wet.”

Lola

Is anyone else missing the Sunday relief lactic acid treatment and the ceramic cleanser?

Reply ButtonReply

Blpopow2

I’m missing the Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip. 🙁

I just got my box and missing both Sunday Riley items too 🙁

I was missing that item as well…very disappointing as I do like this product

I’m missing both also

I got my box through Amazon today and I got the YSL lipstick it is such a pretty dusty rose color. I don’t like the smell of the water balm I can’t place what it smells like. Is it suppose to be rose?

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

Do you mind if I ask if you’ve always been subscribed through Amazon or if you switched from Allure? I’m thinking about switching because of all the problems Allure has. I was wondering what your experience has been getting it through Amazon.

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

I have never used Allure I heard too many bad things about them. Plus I have really bad phone anxiety so I need to be able to do everything by email or online I don’t want to speak to anyone with Allure you have to call. With Amazon I can cancel or resubscribe with a click of a button. The only thing is you don’t get a $10 box offer or the advertised free gift but they did send me a Spongelle as my free gift.

Pink5

Still waiting for my October ship notice.

I had time, so I called customer service. The person I got was grumpy, which was unusual. From what she was saying, the first round went out last week, and the balance will ship by the end of the week.

Not happy about this. Up until the past few months, I would get it 6 or 7 days after they charged me, which was usually within the first week. Now they don’t charge until the second week and don’t ship until halfway through the month.

I’ve been seeing posts about new management, and I’m beginning to think Sephora cleaned house and Allure hired them all.

And it doesn’t help that the November box is all masks. Not really a mask fan.

@Pink5 omgoodness I laughed so hard when I read this, I totally agree with you !! Sephora Play box is stepping their game up and Allure is just dragging a** now . I’ve been watching my box bounce back and forth between Fresno, CA and San Jose, CA..like why!!! I received the tracking link 9 days ago and am finally seeing an expected delivery date of today. Im in AZ.

Amen!!!

I absolutely love your Sephora employee comment! Probably because it’s funny AND true!
