Ahhh Sugar Sugar “What’s A Goon To A Goblin” September 2018 Review

Ahhh Sugar Sugar unicorn

This box comes with company information listed on the box (and I am digging the unicorn).

Ahhh Sugar Sugar info sheet

It also comes with an info sheet for the included products. Prices aren’t listed on the info sheet, so I use the Facebook price list when applicable.

(oh) For Peep’s Sake Bath Frosting, 8 oz – Estimated Value $14

After such an amazing unboxing experience I was totally ready for these products, and the first one did not disappoint. This is one of the best scents I have ever tried from Ahhh Sugar Sugar! It has notes of pumpkin marshmallow and warm vanilla sugar, and the combination is a deep scent that is sweet without being over the top- there is almost a caramel note from the warm vanilla sugar to balance the pumpkin scent, and this has been my go-to ever since receiving this box. Along with the amazing scent, this is a very moisturizing soap that spreads easily, and there is a mild exfoliation that isn't abrasive. Plus, it very faintly glows in the dark!

Ahhh Sugar Sugar halloqueen

Hallo Queen Whipped Meringue Body Butter, 4 oz – Estimated Value $7.75

This body butter is the perfect lotion to use after sudsing up with the bath frosting from this month. It has notes of poached pear, sweet honey, and buttery caramel. The caramel is the standout scent for me. The fruit and honey balances out the caramel and gives the lotion a great depth of scent, and the lotion is ultra-moisturizing too. Now that it is starting to cool off I can use heavier lotions, and this is the perfect mix of being heavier than regular lotion without being too thick or greasy.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar bath bomb 1 Ahhh Sugar Sugar bath bomb 2

Apocalypse Bath Bomb – Estimated Value $7

This bath bomb has notes of violet, cedarwood, and lemon, and I love the scent. It is made with almond oil that makes my bath water extra-moisturizing, and I love the spooky spider ring on top. The only bummer was this didn’t make the best bath art- It started off white and then slowly released a light green color, but the overall effect didn’t wow me. There is more than a bath bomb than bath art, however, and the scent and almond oil made this a great treat regardless.

Rose From The Dead Facial Scrub

This facial scrub is made with 100% pure rose essential oil, as well as other skin-loving ingredients like activated coconut charcoal, bentonite clay, kaolin clay, coconut oil, sunflower oil, and ground pumice stone. The scent wasn’t too crazy- it was lightly rose with the natural charcoal scent. I’m okay with not having a strongly scented face mask, especially when one has such stellar performance. The grit on this is super fine, and I really felt like I was cleaning all the gunk out of my blackheads and pores without being too abrasive on my face. After washing off, my blackheads looked noticeably improved, too!

I love that a small spoon and washcloth was included to complete the experience, and the fun bones in the scrub made this a real Halloween treat I will be using long after October 31.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar jelly 1 Ahhh Sugar Sugar jelly 2

What’s A Goon To A Goblin Jelly Soap

This soap has scent notes of wood, smoke, and "masculine musk," and I love how good it smells. It is a unisex fragrance that the man in your life may try to steal, and if you don't warn them about the surprise inside they may get too scared to go near your products again!

LOOK. AT. THIS. Even if this jelly soap was awful (which it isn’t- I love it!), I would be over the moon over this awesome and creative packaging!

The Verdict: Hands down this is by far the best box I have received from Ahhh Sugar Sugar. From the very first moment I opened the box I was greeted with a lovely Halloween experience, and all of the scents and the products are stellar to boot. I am honestly thinking about trying to buy a second box on the destash Facebook page- that is how much I love everything. This month, the care and thought that went into the packaging and presentation really made the overall value skyrocket for me, and I hope Octobers box continues with the trend of being this amazing.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

This company puts so many special touches on every product. I’m amazed just looking at the photos, and I can’t even smell the great scents.

I’ve gotten 2 small batch bath boxes this month and both have contained white artisanal bath bombs in them. I think it’s a new trend? 😉

Nancy M.

I have been on their waitlist since May and during that time I have moved up approximately 120 spots.

I have a career with a high security clearance and my employer strongly discourages FB use.
How do I ( and others without FB) join?
I majorly want this box but I don’t know how to get to the waitlist, even.

Thanks for any advice,
Lily

You can ask a friend or family member to use their FB to get the box? I don’t really know the process for how this works to subscribe but even if your friend/family has to pay for the box, you can always pay them back and have them put the shipping address as yours

There are a few of these bath and body subscription boxes now, and I’m wanting to subscribe to one. Has there been any comparison posts for these types of boxes? I couldn’t find any when I looked.

Fortune Cookie Soap Company is a great one! You can find reviews for it on here. I think it’s one of the best because you don’t just get strictly simple bath stuff. Sometimes you get hand sanitizer, toilet or room spray and you still get soap, lotion, shampoo, etc. They’re limited edition scents and very creative ones. They also have a good rewards club for ordering from the shop. And if you just want to try them out they usually have holiday themed mini boxes.

That was the one I was leaning towards. 🙂 I did not know about the rewards points thing though so that might make my decision for me. Thank you!

Awesome box and review! I’m # 178 on the waiting list, so it will be several months before I can get a box. But I can’t wait to get my order from the pre-order and the RTS!

Hi Kris!
I didn’t have to join the waitlist to review, but I have a friend who was only on the waitlist for a few months before being called up. I recommend being active on their Facebook page, and I have seen that they have done more call-ups recently!
