This box comes with an info card and a Target coupon good for $3 off a beauty purchase of $15 or more:

Now, on to the items!

Schmidt’s Naturals Charcoal Magnesium Deodorant – .7 oz Value $1.27

I tried the rose version of this thanks to the April Target Beauty Box, and it’s great.

I love that this comes in stick form. (The natural deodorants that are in a jar and you have to apply with your fingertips, just aren’t for me. I need the ease of a stick!) The scent is very subtle, and most importantly this worked well for me!

Weleda Wild Rose Body Wash – 50 ml Value $2.50

I love Weleda products (they are an ingredient-conscious brand) and this body wash is another fab product from them. It’s creamy, gentle, and smells great, too.

NIVEA Smooth Daily Moisture Body Lotion – 2.5 oz Value $.78

This body lotion is SO lightweight – it absorbs almost immediately. The scent is pretty light, too.

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Primer Base – 1.5 ml Value $1.08

This primer is designed to give your lashes volume, conditioner lashes, and prime them for mascara. It goes on white, and it’s easily covered with mascara.

I’ve sampled this before thanks to subscription boxes, and it is one of my favorite drugstore beauty products now! The formula is seriously impressive – it gives SO much volume with only a few swipes! And it means I’ll use less mascara per use, too!

Olay Facial Cleansing Infusion, Crushed Ginger and Citrus – 1 oz Value $1.30

This is a new discovery for me and I’m a fan. The exfoliating particles are super fine so it’s very gentle, it left my skin feeling so smooth, and the ginger scent is lovely, too.

OGX Coconut Miracle Oil Dry Shampoo – 1.75 oz Value $2.45

This is everything I want in dry shampoo – it goes on clear, absorbs oil, and has a fab scent, too! (I love all things beachy and coconut!)

Garnier SkinActive Facial Mist Spray with Rose Water – 1.8 ml Value $.10

This facial spray is designed to hydrate skin, prep skin before makeup, set makeup, and to use as a refreshing mist throughout the day. It was gentle on my skin, but the spray nozzle does not apply an even mist, so I wouldn’t use this sample for setting makeup.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $9.48. That’s just OK for a $7 Target beauty box. But the $3 beauty coupon always adds value to me. And I like just about everything in the box, too.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? YES!

  1. The October box is out! Two boxes this month, a standard kinda boring one and an eye product box. Woo!

  2. Its the first Monday of the month and Target didn’t release the October beauty box!!!! What gives? Next Monday is a holiday, so are they planning on waiting until next Wed again? Perhaps they’re trying to be mysterious and unpredictable???? Either way, I’m annoyed!

    • What was the expiration date on last month’s coupon?

The October beauty box should become available the day after.

      • The expiration on the coupon was the 29th.

    • I was thinking the same thing. I actually stayed up late last night to go ahead and get it because I was looking forward to seeing what was in it and nothing. They don’t claim and specific time or date so I guess I can’t get upset, but still. Disappointed.

    • I’m betting they release the box tommrow or (this) Weds. I would have gone online and asked thru the Target Facebook beauty page. But, learned awhile ago that not even the people who work their beauty page know when the beauty box will drop.

      • I think it came out on Wednesday last month, no idea why they delayed it.

  3. This was my first Target Beauty Box, and I’m very happy with it! I got it to try out the deodorant, body wash, and dry shampoo. The box itself is nice and I’ll keep it to use for presents in the future. The grippers for the liquid items are a great idea! Nothing spilled or opened in the box for me.

I also got the September Target Mask Beauty Box and am so happy I did. I wanted to try the Acure vegan sheet mask, which sells on the Target website for ~$6 on its own, so well worth the cost of the box given all the other masks it came with.

    • When did you buy it? Unfortunately I was late to get it:( too bad! I like what they put inside this month.

      • I ordered mine on September 21st, and was very surprised that it was still available, since it seems like it usually sells out in a few days and it came out around the 5th.

  4. yes the GRIPPER is a great idea and glad i got all of my products mine was a disaster last month i didnt get to enjoy the beachy wave spray due to it being opened …grrrrrrrr Target by far nails it every month and for only $7 you cant beat it and I find if I cant use a product I can swap it or gift it to someone else as well as reuse the box for gifting

  5. I got it to try the primer since I cant wear faux lashes and the dry shampoo. <3

  6. This box was an easy pass, hope October’s box is better.

  7. Liz do you know if they’re still doing the baby boxes?

    • I wan to to know too

  8. I got everything in this box PLUS 3 Rembrandt teeth whitening strips. Not bad Target. Wish there were more makeup type things though.

  9. There is some value in this. I enjoy trying new things, mostly items that I would not give a second look to. I was pleased with the value of this box. I like the packaging I use them later fro gift and storage boxes, the products are a dollar each, which is below sample size prices in the stores, and the point for me is to try new things. Overall this is a good value.

  10. Has anyone ever used their Target coupon on body products? I was almost going to get the full-sized Weleda body wash this weekend, but then I noticed that the coupon says it’s only for skincare, haircare, & makeup. I remember a while ago I tried to use it for a nail polish (before I noticed the product types listed on the coupon), and it didn’t work. I just think it’d be nice if we could use the coupon on any product featured in the box.

    • One of the reasons I stopped buying this box is that it was so difficult to get the coupon to work (even though I shop at Target all the time). I think I used a total of one, another three expired and I couldn’t get to four to work at all.

    • Does it not still say beauty on it? I’ve used mine for everything(body wash, nail polish, etc.). I tend to use them online and if they don’t work automatically, I talked to customer service and send them a pic of it to have them apply it or give me a refund retroactively. And then I have also successfully gone and used that same coupon in store so double-win! I mean, the coupons rarely work on what they’re supposed to, so you have to force the issue.

      • The ones I’ve been getting specifically say makeup, skincare, or haircare, but I think next time I’ll try to use it on a body care item just to see if it works. I’ve tried a few body care items from the box that I really liked, but the print on the coupon is what holds me back from chancing it at the register… I hate wasting my time… taking the time to pick the right product, then the coupon doesn’t work, then I leave the product at the register on principle. haha. But, I do remember it didn’t work on a nail polish I tried to purchase, and that was because it specified those three types of products above.

  11. I agree the Olay cleanser was the clear winner in this box. I’ll also get good use of the deodorant and dry shampoo (those are really The target Beauty Box staples, aren’t they?). The rose body wash went straight into the trash.

  12. My favorite item in this box is the Olay Cleaning Infusion…its wonderful! I use the Loreal Lash primer every day so its not new to me, but can always use more. The Garnier Rose Mist was very small, but I’m glad I had the opportunity to try it…I love it. My least favorite items are the deodorant and Weleda body wash. Although the body wash is very nourishing, making my skin feel very soft, it smells sour…not rosy at all. I use it to shave my legs in the shower. And I don’t like any ‘natural’ deodorants…I tried one once and it stained my clothing. So I will be donating this one. Overall, I would rate this box an 8 out of 10.

  13. I loved the Weleda Wild Rose Body Wash and bought the box for the Garnier SkinActive Facial Mist Spray with Rose Water.

Like someone else said, it’s too tiny to even be counted. I’m really surprised that Garnier would be so chintzy with a sample of a not- expensive product. Or that Target would either.

I love Rose scented products all of a sudden, probably thanks to the beautiful Rose Post Box introduction to rose scents a few months ago and I’m hooked on both that box and all things rose in between their quarterly shipments. 😉

  14. I got this box for the Garnier most I didn’t realize it was so small. Rather disappointing for even $7, value isn’t there.

  15. Wow, I didn’t realize that in addition to the unexciting items the value this month is also super-low.

    Glad I didn’t buy.

  16. This was a well rounded box. I will use everything in it. It’s a great mix of products I know and some I don’t, but want to get to know. I also love the sizes of the samples!
    Well done, Target!!!

  17. Target did a good job this month of sealing the items that might leak during shipping. For me, it was three of these items that were taped shut during shipping. I wish other boxes would follow suit.

    • I agree this was a nice additional step to ensure quality.

There is some value in these boxes. I enjoy trying new things, mostly items that I would not give a second look to. I was pleased with the value of this box. I like the packaging. I use it later for gift and storage boxes. The products are a dollar each, which is below sample size prices in the stores, and the point for me is to try new things. Overall this is a good value.

    • yes the GRIPPER is a great idea and glad i got all of my products mine was a disaster last month i didnt get to enjoy the beachy wave spray due to it being opened …grrrrrrrr Target by far nails it every month and for only $7 you cant beat it and I find if I cant use a product I can swap it or gift it to someone else as well as reuse the box for gifting

  18. I like this box. I don’t use dry shampoo at all, but everything else is very useful.

  19. Liz, does the mascara primer dry clear if you didn’t want to apply mascara? Thanks.

    • Not Liz, but I use this every day. It stays white, so if you aren’t planning on wearing mascara I wouldn’t use this.

    • There are many good clear mascaras that work well if you just want a little separation and volume.

      • Elf makes a good one for cheap. One end is clear brow gel and the other end is clear mascara. Think it’s like $2.

  20. This was the first Target box I’d gotten in months – I really liked the selection of items. I just had some scars removed from my face, and so I’m using this Olay cleanser instead of my usual (and stronger) Murad. Happy with its gentleness on skin that is healing from being sliced! As Liz said, the beads are incredibly fine and don’t irritate. This month was a total win. The L’Oreal mascara primer is better than mascara primers that cost four times as much (looking at you, Manna Kadar).

    • I totally agree with you on the comparison between the L’Oréal & Manna Kadar primers. I’m currently using a sample of the Manna Kadar primer, and I honestly don’t think it’s doing anything. I see the product on the brush, but when I swipe I swear I don’t see much, if anything, being applied to my lashes. For years, I used Clinique’s Lash Builder mascara, but after trying the L’Oréal one a few years ago when it first came out, I thought that performed just as good, so that’s the only one I’ll buy if ever the day comes when I run out of the primers I get from boxes.
